Ditka: If Player Takes a Knee During Game, He Wouldn't Play For Me Again

Colin Kaepernick

Former Chicago Bear's two-time Superbowl champion coach and two-time NFL coach of the year Mike Ditka stated on the Bernie and Sid Show on WABC that if one of his players ever took a knee during the singing of the national anthem, he would never play for him again.  He also stated that the San Francisco 49'ers player Colin Kaepernick needs to show some respect for the game and stop acting look a "bunch of fools out there."  Way to go, Coach Ditka.

Colin Kaepernick made some very derogatory comments about people who were all over Trump.  I won't mention the word he used.  Ditka pointed out that we live in a society that pays attention to our athletes, but the truth is there opinion is no more significant than anyone else's opinion and that Kaepernick would be an unknown if it wasn't for the game of football.  Ditka stated that Kaepernick needs to show some respect for the game and give something back to football.  Ditka's right.  Regardless what one thinks of Donald Trump, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, or any presidential administration, that doesn't give anyone the excuse to be disrespectful of the playing of the national anthem.  We're honoring those who fought and died for our country centuries ago.  It's because of those people why we have the privilege and freedom to voice our opinions regardless of the popularity of them.  No excuse for Kaepernick's actions during the playing of the national anthem.
