Otis Boyken

Boykin

Otis Boyken, a black inventor

Otis F. Boyken was a black inventor born on August 29, 1920 in Dallas, Texas to parents of modest means.  His father was a carpenter and his mother was a homemaker.  He worked on improving electrical resistors which made possible the steady workings of a number of now-ubiquitious electronic devices.  Variations of his resistor models are used around the world in televisions, computers, and radios.  Most notably his work enabled control functions for the first successful, implantable pacemaker.  He graduated from Fisk University in 1941 and got a job as a laboratory assistant testing automatic aircraft controls.

National Review: The United States of Decline

The United States of Decline

Clink on the above link from the National Review to read the article entitled, "The United States of Decline."  It's tragic but it's very true.  The Bible states that perilous times should come in the last days.  We're in that day as we speak.

John Kerry States Climate Change Most Fearsome "Weapon of Mass Destruction"

John Kerry on Climate Change

APTOPIX Kerry US IndonesiaSecretary of State John Kerry in Jakarta, Indonesia

Secretary of State John Kerry made the statement that climate change is a phenomenon which is the most fearsome "weapon of mass destruction."  Oh, really?  What about all the hysteria that former Vice-President created when he was traveling around the country stating our world is experiencing "global warming."  We heard so much talk about global warming for years and now all of a sudden------it's climate change!  How interesting?  Could it be that all these expert scientists were wrong in their claims about global warming so they had to change the terminology to allow for global cooling as well?  Back in 2009 when this blog first began I wrote a post entitled, "Maintaining an Environmental Balance" and I stated that I am a middle-of-the roader when it comes to the issue of the environment.  I for one second don't buy into all the global warmings or climate change warnings that our elected elite pump out to the media.  I don't trust our politicians.  All of this talk is nothing but political.  It's about control.  It's to legitimatize their claims that the government needs to be in control.  It give them the excuse to re-create America into a communist nation, which is the direction it's headed.  It's not about saving the planet.  I for one don't believe that we should pollute the planet, nor waste it's resources.  But, on the other hand, I don't appreciate false propaganda being fed to the American people about climate change.  Yes, we do experience climate change.  We have four seasons each year:  Spring, summer, fall, and winter.  Spring is warm, summer is hot, fall is cool, and winter is cold.  Climate change is a part of our atmosphere.  That's nothing unusual.  Yes there are seasons where it's unusually warmer than others and there are seasons where it's unusually cooler than others.  But we don't have to destroy capitalism to stop the pollution of our planet.  There are reasonable methods which can be utilized to protect our planet.  Our elected elite who promote all this "climate change" hysteria have an agenda which is to exert more government control over the lives of American citizens.  That's what it's about.

Black History Month 2014

Black History Month began the first day of February and will run until the end of February which is next Friday.  It was started in February 1926 by Carter Woodson as Negro History and later it was renamed as Black History Month.  I intended on featuring some posts on black history before now but due to family reasons I haven't had the chance to write anything.  I might feature a few posts possibly a week after March has started.  I intend on featuring a few before the end of this month.  We'll have to wait and see.  Dr. Ben Carson will be topping off the list of black people I will be featuring this month.  Anybody that pays attention to the news has heard Dr. Carson a number of times on "Hannity" on Fox News and other shows.  He was a former pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  I think he's an inspiration to black people.  He worked very hard and spent numerous hours to be in the situation he's in today.  I really enjoy reading about him.  I recently read a book that he authored entitled, America the Beautiful.  I don't know what direction I may go with Black History Month.  I thought about featuring posts on black inventors and possibly some issues dealing with race.  I'll have to wait and see.

Our politicians in both houses of Congress are very sorry.  When we have RINO's such as Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and John Cornyn (R-TX) who will facilitate the growth of government, then it's long past due that they be shown the door.  These two don't need to be re-elected this November.  It's a disgrace.  Click on the above link to read the full story.

Sen. Lee: Congress Chooses Not to Exercise Its Own ‘Power of the Purse’

Sen. Lee: Congress Chooses Not to Exercise Its Own ‘Power of the Purse’ | CNS News

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah)Senator Mike Lee

I agree with Senator Lee's statement.  I believe as a result Congress is a traitor when they refuse to defund programs that are unconstitutional and wasteful.  Since they refuse to do that, I don't want to hear any more campaigning about repealing or defunding Obamacare when the House won't use the Constitutional provision that's given to them.  Click on the above link to read the story.

Justice Dept. Latest to Apply Privileges, Protections for 'Same-Sex' Couples

Justice Dept. latest to apply privileges, protections for same-sex spouses | Fox News

It never stops when it comes to the homosexual agenda.  Now the Justice Department is going even further allowing allowing same-sex couples special protections and privileges that only heterosexual married couples deserve.  With this ruling, they will no longer be compelled to testify against each other in civil and criminal cases.  To read the full story, click on FoxNews.com.

How the GOP Lost Middle America

How the GOP Lost Middle America | CNS News

Syndicated Columnist Patrick J. Buchanan

You need to read this timely article from Syndicated columnist Patrick J. Buchanan on how the GOP lost middle America.  It's tragic but true.  The GOP was more interested in helping corporate America by granting amnesty to America's illegals so employers can pay cheap labor to foreigners.  That's not what the founding of America was about.  I do recognize we have a declining work ethic in America, but there are ways to deal with that.  However, those who work diligently and are faithful to work deserve better than cheap wages.  Granting amnesty to illegals is illegal and un-American.  To read the full story, click on the above link from CNSNews.com.

Pelosi: 'Not My Responsibility' to Make Healthcare.gov Work

Pelosi: 'Not My Responsibility' to Make Healthcare.gov Work | CNS News

  House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi

Since she was so intent to see the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) jammed through Congress in 2010, she should take some responsibility to see that Healthcare.gov works properly.  The truth of the matter is she's not interested in seeing Obamacare work so Americans can receive affordable health insurance.  She's interested in seeing Obama's agenda being implemented in America but not the way that some would view it.  She's interested in goverment control over the lives of the American people--not to see they receive affordable health care coverage.  Click on CNSNews.com to read the story.
