Ford Motor Co. Fuels Profits With Innovation, not Government Bailouts

Ford Motor Co. Fuels Profits With Innovation, not Government Bailouts

It's great for once to read about Ford making profits which have nothing to do with government bailouts whatsoever.  I remember back in December 2008 when the Big Three's auto executives came to Washington, D.C. asking for a government bailout of the auto industry back when the Big Three were in trouble.  Both GM and Chrysler eventually took government bailouts in 2009, but Ford's CEO, Alan Mulally, refused to do so.  Today, the only major auto manufacturer that's prospering is Ford.  To read the story about Ford's success in the last few years, click on the above link for details.

How did Detroit Fall into the Abyss?

How did Detroit Fall into the Abyss?

Detroit, once a great city who was the worldwide hub of auto manufacturing, has filed bankruptcy.  At one time it had the highest per capita incomes in the nation.  Now it's a city in demise.  However, the demise of Detroit didn't take place yesterday.  It's been happening for the last few decades.  The Motor City's decline started soon after residents started to move to the suburbs to take with them businesses, jobs, and tax dollars.  The 1967 race riot in Detroit accelerated the trend.  As the population dwindled from 1.8 million to 700,000 residents, city officials struggled to keep up with providing municipal services in the 142-square mile city, with the tax base half of what it was.  Also, auto plants opened up in other cities which meant that Detroit wasn't producing nearly the number of vehicles it once did.  Also, Japanese vehicles were dominating the international market.  Things started snowballing from there.  Today Detroit has one of the highest crime rates in the country.  It's tragic.  To read the full story, click on the above link from FoxNews.com.

McConnell Silent on Defunding Obamacare in CR, Says Senate GOP ‘United’ Against Obamacare

McConnell Silent in Defunding Obamacare, Says Senate GOP 'United' Against Obamacare

Mitch McConnellSenate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell

I'm so thankful that Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is facing opposition in his 2014 Senatorial race.  McConnell faces opposition from both political parties.  Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is challenging him on the Democratic side and Louisville businessman Matt Bevin is challenging him on the Republican side.  Mitch McConnell is the longest serving U.S. Senator in Kentucky history.

For the last few years McConnell has been trying to convince Kentucky voters that he's adamantly opposed to Obamacare and wants to see it repealed.  Last week Republican Senator Mike Lee from Utah has proposed that Obamacare be defunded in the House.  He said to pass a budget bill but have Obamacare defunded.  McConnell has been silent on that issue but claims that the Republicans in the Senate are 'united' against Obamacare.  Why should I believe that when his track record shows that he didn't do anything to stop the Affordable Care bill from being passed in the Senate when it was being debated in December 2009.  He says he's opposed to Obamacare but he wouldn't use his influence as Senate Minority Leader to launch a filibuster, which is one of the tools the Senate has at their disposal when they oppose a bill that's being debated.  He claims that Obamacare would destroy American jobs but he never launched a filibuster to prevent its passage in the Senate.  He's not going to convince me he's opposed to Obamacare.  He's fine with it becoming law or else he would've used a filibuster to stop that bill in his tracks.  McConnell is nothing but a phony and a sham and it's time for him to go.

Israel and the Palestinian Authority will resume peace talks today in Washington after a three-year break, the result of months of lobbying and a personal invitation by Secretary of State John F. Kerry.  Secretary Kerry called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday and asked them to send senior negotiatiors to Washington to resume direct talks.  The talks will begin Monday and extend into Tuesday.

Sen. Mike Lee: Go Ahead and Fund the Government, but Without Obamacare

Sen. Mike Lee: Go ahead and fund the government, but without Obamacare - Washington Times

Sen. Mike Lee, Utah RepublicanSenator Mike Lee (R-UT)

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) made the statement statement that the federal government will avoid a shutdown after a high-stakes budget debate this September.  He said he wants to see the federal government continuing to function without Obamacare.  Senator Lee last week was proposing that Obamacare be defunded.  I totally agree with him on that.  Consequently, he knows that Obamacare won't be defunded.  Congress will continue on as business as usual.  It won't be shut down.  Also, Obamacare will still be in the budget.  House Speaker RINO John Boehner isn't going to defund Obamacare.  I believe this very expensive piece of legislation is what the globalists want in place to take down America.  The Republicans aren't going to stop it.  They may campaign like they are and they may mention defunding Obamacare, but I believe it will remain in place and once it's fully implented--watch out!

Bachmann: Do House Republicans Have the 'Guts to Fight' Obamacare?

Bachmann: Do House Republicans Have the 'Guts to Fight' Obamacare? | CNS News

BachmannRep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN)

Represenative Michelle Bachmann stated that a number of  "high profile" Senators have stated that they would be willing to shut down the government over the funding of the president's healthcare plan, which is an effort being led by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT).  Bachmann told CNS News that she was encouraged by a meeting with the Tea Party Caucus on Tuesday evening.  She said she feared the GOP leadership in the House doesn't have the "guts" to defund Obamacare.  That's been obvious for the last few years?  The question I have to ask Mrs. Bachmann is why she hasn't been shouting on the housetops to oust John Boehner as Speaker before this Congressional session began in January?  Why didn't she a few years ago organize a group of Republicans to defund Obamacare in the House.  I believe the latest in talks about defunding Obamacare is nothing more than useless talk.  They aren't going to defund Obamacare.  They are all playing this little game together.  The GOP knows that Obamacare isn't going to be repealed by Congress nor the president unless the GOP controls the Senate and the White House.  Even then it would be questionable if a GOP Congress would defund Obamacare.  You can't trust anyone in both the House and the Senate.  That's what their track record says.  If  I'm wrong then they need to prove me wrong and actually defund it instead of being deceitful and giving the pretense you're going to defund Obamacare.

Anthony Weiner Admits to Sending Lewd Text Images Once Again

Anthony Weiner admits to sending more lewd images, texts but vows to stay in mayor's race | Fox News

Former Congressman and New York City Mayor candidate

Former 9th Congressional District Congressman Anthony Weiner, who resigned amid revelations in 2011 of sexting lewd images, is back at it once again.  He's running for New York City Mayor this year.  Four term mayor Michael Bloomberg isn't running again.  Also, Weiner has admitted that he continued sexting even after resigning from Congress in 2011.  It's the same old thing.  If voters in New York vote for Weiner after all that's been revealed about them, then New York is in trouble.  The voters there in New York City deserve the government they get if this pervert is elected mayor in November.

Detroit Files for Largest Municipal Bankruptcy in U.S. History

Detroit files for largest municipal bankruptcy in US history | Fox News

The city of Detroit filed for the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history due to a steep population and income tax declines which sent it tumbling toward insolvency.  The filing by a state-appointed emergency manager means that if the bankruptcy filing is approved, city assets could be be liquidated to satisfy demands for payment.

It's a great tragedy.  Detroit is the home of the Big Three automakers, General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford.  Detroit used to be one of the most prosperous cities in America.  Back in the early 1910's many blacks would migrate to Detroit in search for jobs.  Consequently, Detroit is no longer the economic hub it once was.  With the decline in auto manufacturing in the last several years and with thousands of jobs lost, Detroit has lost much of their tax base. Detroit today is more known for its crime rate and its citizens on welfare than it is as a place to find a job.  It's tragic.

Administration Delays Key Obamacare Mandate

Administration Delays Key Obamacare Mandate

The Obama administration announced on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 that it is delaying a major provision in the healthcare overhaul, putting off until 2015 a requirement that many employers offer healthcare insurance.  That announcement was made late that Tuesday by the Treasury Department, after Congress was in recess.  It occurs amid reports that the administration is running into roadblocks as it prepares to implement Obamacare.

That's no surprise to me.  I believe part of the reason that the Obamacare administration is delaying the key Obamacare mandate is because next year is the 2014 midterm elections and the administration doesn't want the voters to feel the effects of this law the year we're having important midterm elections.  To read the full story, click on the link from FoxNews.com.

Poll: Most Parents Don't Want Their Children to Be Politicians

Poll: Most Parents Don't Want Their Children to Be Politicians | CNS News
capitol
According to a recent Gallup poll, it posed the question if you had a child/son/daughter, would you like him or her to go into politics as a life's work?  That's how Gallup phrased its question to a random sample of 2048 adults, 18 and older living in all fifty states.  The telephone survey found from June 20-24 that by a 2-1 margin 64% to 31% that the answer was "no."  Parents don't want their children to go into politics as a career.

I say "amen" to that.  I don't want my son or any of my future offspring choose a career in politics.  I'll do everything in my power to steer them away from that.  Why?  Because it's corrupt and regardless the political party affiliation or whatever they claim themselves to be, they will become corrupted if they stay in Washington for very long.  I don't care how genuine that candidate is.  None of the so-called conservative politicians are doing anything to stop Obama's agenda from pressing forward.  We have politicians such as Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) claim that she wants to see Obamacare repealed but she won't do anything to organize a committe in the House so that Obamacare can be defunded.  You can't trust any of them.  I don't want my children to take part in that foolishness.  Our politicians aren't about solving problems.  They are about promoting themselves.  They'll take a certain issue (whatever that may be) and they'll use that issue to prop up their campaign regardless whether it's abortion or Obamacare, or national security, for example.  It's about the money.  We have Congressmen and Senators that become rich staying in Congress for a career.  Something's not right.  Washington is nothing but a party.  Being in office has nothing to do with serving the people.  They answer to those forces who have a control over our politicians.
