Obama's Actions May Place Him Dangerously Close To Totalitarianism - Investors.com

Obama's Actions May Place Him Dangerously Close To Totalitarianism - Investors.com

Judge Andrew Napolitano

Judge Andrew Napolitano was a guest on "Your World" hosted by Neil Cavuto a few weeks back. Napolitano stated that given the president's end runs around Congress, his shredding of the Constitution, and his assault on the authority of the courts, a second term free of electoral restraints may be a frightening prospect.  Napolitano said, "I think the president is dangerously close to totalitarianism," "A few months ago he was saying, 'The Congress doesn't count, the Congress doesn't mean anything, I am going to rule by decree and by administrative regulation."  Napolitano was exactly on target.  We have a Caesar on our hands who happens to be the president of the United States.  That's not Napolitano's words.  That's what I'm opining.

When you take a look at the state of our government today, it appears by all means to be out of control.  We have Democrats that are socialists spending every dollar that we don't have and on top of that are eager to raise taxes on the wealthy.  Then we have Republicans who give voice to conservatism and constitutional government that refuse to impeach President Obama or hold him accountable.  The rule of the law and the Constitution matters the least little bit to the president and to both parties of Congress.  The Republicans will campaign on reducing the size and scope of the federal government but once they're elected, they brush aside everything they promised the voters they were going to do.  It's scary.  However, we're in the last days and the stage is being set for the antichrist to make his appearing before the world.  There will be a one world government before this present world fades away.

Even though President Obama's actions are strikingly close to totaliarianism as Judge Napolitano stated, what you see Obama doing are the result of some of the actions of his predecessor.  Former president George W. Bush shredded the Constitution as well.  It began as early as October 2001 when the Patriot Act was passed by Congress.  Also, he was the president who instigated the bank and auto bailout right before leaving the presidency.  Bush laid the groundwork for Obama to transform this country into a socialist country.  That will more than likely be completed around 2014 when all provisions of Obamacare are implemented. What a sad day in America!

Dottie Rambo: The Gifted Songwriter of the Twentieth Century (Part 23)

Wait For an Answer

This is the finale on the series of posts on Dottie Rambo.  I started this series last August and now I'm wrapping up this series with the 23rd and final post.  I've been chronicling the major events in her life that have impacted her music.  Some of the information I've written was very sketchy.  Some of the information didn't have much meat on the bones.  However, I utilized many YouTube clips so you the blog reader could have a fuller understanding of what I was trying to point out..  I featured YouTube clips of Dottie Rambo giving testimony about her life from the Dove Network in 2007.  I also featured YouTube clips of Dottie speaking about her back troubles in the late 80's and her subsequent recovery in a conference she spoke at in 1994.

Beginning from her early days of living at home up until the time of her death, Dottie Rambo has written approximately 2500 songs throughout her entire life beginning at the age of 8.  I mentioned about some of the events that transpired in her life which inspired her to pen down certain songs such as "He Looked Beyond My Fault", "Sheltered in the Arms of God", "In the Valley He Restoreth My Soul", etc.  She has without question been one of the most gifted and prolific songwriters of the twentieth century.  My focus was to highlight some of the major life events that transpired in her musical and songwriting career.  She was very gifted.  Also, she played a great price for the gift that God gave her, which has been evident throughout her life.  Nevertheless, she was very faithful in developing and using that gift.  She has written songs that will stand through the test of time.  She's written songs that have been a great blessing to me and thousands of others throughout Dottie's lifetime and in the years since she passed away.  Many gospel groups have recorded many of her songs on their albums over the years.  She was a good singer, guitar player, and most of all--songwriter.

I've never taken time to elaborate on my opinions concerning Dottie.  I didn't agree with her on many things concerning her association with the charismatics in her later years or her associations with musicians in the country music field.  Even though I didn't agree with her on many things, I did enjoy many of the songs she had written throughout her lifetime.  Her songs have been and are such a blessing to many people today.  I was thinking to myself a few months ago how her songs have been such a blessing.  I was wondering why her songs have been such a blessing given the fact I didn't agree with her concerning her associations with Paul and Jan Crouch and other charismatic leaders, for example.  There's one thought that came to my mind.  When Dottie first discovered the gift she had for songwriting at the creek near her homee, she told her mother about it.  Her mother told her she would pay a great price for that gift.  That statement became reality at the age of 12 for Dottie.  For four years of her life, Dottie sang country music.  She learned to play the guitar listening to Chet Akins on the Grand Ole Opry.  She sang and played country music until the age of 12 when she was converted at a revival meeting in a church.  After her conversion, she stated she no longer wanted to sing country but sing songs unto the Lord.  That didn't bode well with her father.  At that time her father was not saved and he was a drunkard.  He would have no part of it.  If Dottie was to remain in his home, she would have to sing country.  If she chose to sing gospel, then she would have to leave home.  She made the decision to leave home and sing gospel.  Nevertheless from the age of 12 she would travel across the country singing in churches.  She would sing in revival meetings and write her songs (as a single woman) until she married Buck in 1950 at the ago of 16.  That decision molded and shaped her life.  According to what I heard on Dottie Rambo specials on YouTube, her dad would years later get saved following a near fatal car accident.

In 2 Samuel 24:24 King David stated unto Araunah that he wouldn't offer burnt offerings unto the Lord which cost him nothing.  The greatest sacrifice we can offer unto the Lord is ourselves.  Even though I may not have agreed with her on many things, she did pay a price at a young age to be faithful to what she felt God wanted her to do in her heart.  I believe as a result her songs have been such a great blessing over the years.  A gift endowed to us from God is very precious.  It's something we should take seriously.  God has a will and a purpose for everybody in this world.  God's most important purpose for man is to become born again.  After that, God wants us to dedicate and use the talents He has bestowed upon us for his honor and glory.  That requires a sacrifice upon our parts.  What if Dottie hadn't been willing to pay the price and leave home to use her gift to sing and write gospel?  One may never know.  For one thing her songs may not have had the impact that they do today.  Also, her dad may not have gotten saved.  Nonetheless, her willingness to do what she felt God wanted at the age of 12 more than likely led to her dad getting saved some 20+ years later.  Being faithful and obedient to God is very important.  God blesses faithfulness.

Dottie Rambo wrote more songs than any other gospel songwriter in the twentieth century.  That's why she was dubbed as the queen of gospel music.  As far as I know, she's second to Fanny Crosby who wrote over 8000 songs a century earlier.  Dottie Rambo is an icon in gospel music and songwriting.  She has definitely earned her place in gospel music's songwriting hall of fame.

Obama Takes to the Road to Court College Students

Obama takes to the road to court college students - Washington Times

President Obama speaks to students at the University of North Carolina on Chapel Hill on April 24, 2012.

In a crucial swing state where the Democratic Party is racked by a sexual harrassment scandal, President Obama went on a two-day tour Tuesday aimed partly at rallying college-age voters and getting them to chant "amen" while he railed against student debt.  President Obama visited the main campus at the University of North Carolina on Chapel Hill to call on Congress to keep student loan interest rates from doubling for 7.4 million young Americans on July 1.  "A higher education is the clearest path into the middle class," Obama told a cheering crowd of 8000 students at the school's basketball arena.  "We have to make college more affordable for our young people."  He stated Republicans' major priorities are giving tax breaks to the big oil companies and Americans earning more than $1 million.  "That's basically a tax hike for more than 7 million students across America," Mr. Obama said.  "Stopping this from happening should be a no-brainer.  This shouldn't be a partisan issue."

There are different reasons why college tuition rates are soaring across America.  One of the reasons is some colleges are private and not state-supported.  Colleges that aren't supported by tax dollars will have higher tuition rates.   Therefore, private colleges have to find a way to raise the revenue to meet their expenses.  Many state-supported colleges are receiving fewer tax dollars due to the fact many states are strapped of cash such as California, Illinois, and New York, to name a few.  Many state colleges have had to compensate for lack of state funding.  Therefore, college students have had to shoulder more of the financial burden when going to college.  Another reason is the operating costs of colleges and universities are becoming more expensive today.  Rising fuel prices play a role in higher education costs being more expensive.

The president's assertion that a higher education is the clearest path into the middle class is ludicrous.  According to a March 1, 2012 article from Forbes.com, 60% of college graduates today can't find a full-time job in their chosen profession.  That's a very staggering number.  I'm a firm believer in students furthering their education.  Consequently, the notion that a college degree is the ticket to find a job isn't necessarily true.  The job market changes all the time.  Within the last 20 years, there have been many structural changes in the economy and many of the jobs that used to be in America are now overseas or across the border.  It's very discouraging to those college graduates who have taken years to prepare themselves for a certain vocation and are unable to find a job in that field.  The recession that took place in 2008 as a result of the housing bust has made it more difficult for college graduates as a whole to find jobs in their chosen fields.

I do agree that tuition rates are way too high.  If Obama was so concerned about tuition costs at college, then he would stop playing this class warfare game on the wealthy.  Raising taxes on millionaires is going to negatively impact the middle class.  What will happen is business owners will pass the tax increases to their customers through higher prices.  With higher taxes, fewer business owners will be hiring because business costs will become too expensive due to higher taxes and expensive regulations from the government.  Another thing President Obama should do is end the moratorium on domestic oil drilling and allow for new venues in oil exploration to take place, such as the Keystone XL Pipeline oil drilling, for example.  Higher fuel costs raises the prices of goods and services in general and stifles job creation.

What needs to happen is for more private sector jobs to be created.  Once that happens, then the chances of college graduates finding jobs in their career field will increase.  President Obama is full of hot air as usual with his rhetoric.  His policies have done nothing but destroy the American economy.  Higher taxes and burdensome regulations will destroy the economy instead of building it.

Newt Gingrich to Leave Campaign, But Will Still Remain in National Spotlight

NBC Politics - Gingrich to leave campaign, but not the national spotlight

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich speaks at a rally on the night of the New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and Rhode Island primaries in Concord, NC on April 24, 2012.

NBC News has learned that former House Speaker and GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will suspend his campaign on May 1, 2012, which will be next week.  He's also supposed to endorse Mitt Romney, his nemesis throughout the campaign season.  Newt Gingrich leaves the campaign after winning two primaries--South Carolina and Georgia.  What will Newt do next?  One thing's for certain.  We'll still hear from him on television and other venues.  Prior to his presidential campaign, he was a Fox News commentator.  I wouldn't be surprised if he positions himself for some type of position in the Romney administration.  Since he's stepped down from the campaign, I assume some type of deal was reached to retire the campaign debt Newt had accumulated.  He had $4.3 million in campaign debt.   Rick Santorum also had campaign debt.  That's why Santorum resigned.  He was far behind in the primary and he didn't have enough cash to continue the campaign.

Romney Wins NY, PA, and 3 Other Primaries

Romney wins NY, Pa. and 3 other GOP primaries  | ajc.com

Mitt Romney, the victor in New York, Pennsylvania, and three other GOP primaries.

Mitt Romney has completed a five-state sweep of Republican presidential primaries.  Romney's inching ever closer to the 1144 delegates needed to clinch the nomination.  Romney's 400 delegates short to reach that goal.  These five primaries are the first primaries to be held since former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum dropped out of the GOP race, conceding the race to Romney.  In other news, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said he will suspend his presidential campaign next week.  However, he will still be in the national spotlight.  I project he will be positioning himself to play some sort of influential role for Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.

Prosecutors Describe Edwards as 'Master Manipulator' as Trial Begins

Prosecutors describe Edwards as 'master manipulator' as trial begins | Fox News

Former Senator (D-NC) and presidential candidate John Edwards

Prosecutors on Monday described former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards as 'master manipulator' as both sides delivered opening arguments in the case examing whether Edwards cover-up of his affair with Rielle Hunter is a federal crime.  The trial, which began at a federal courthouse in North Carolina, has high stakes.  If found guilty, Edwards could face a lengthy prison sentence if convicted.  It's not certain whether the former trial lawyer will take the stand in his own defense.  Government attorneys argued that the former Democratic Senator of North Carolina and two-time presidential candidate knew two wealthy contributors that had provided the nearly $1 million to hide his pregnant mistress.  They claimed the donations were "tantamount" to campaign contributions intended to preserve Edwards' family-man image during his presidential campaign.  The defense argued the donations were "private money" intended to protect Edwards' family from embarrassment.  Edward's lawyer told jurors most of the money was handled by former campaign staffer Andrew Young towards building Young's new house in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The day of opening arguments comes after more than four years when Edwards ended his presidential campaign bid and watched his reputation crumble under the emerging scandal.  The focus of the trial is the money trail.  At issue is whether the $1 million in donations was intended to help his campaign or whether it was intended to prevent his wife and children from finding about Edward's "affair" with his mistress.

Utah Senator Orrin Hatch Forced Into Primary For First Time Since '76

Sen. Orrin Hatch forced into primary for first time since '76, faces Dan Liljenquist in June | Deseret News

Utah Senator Orrin Hatch

Six-term Senator Orrin Hatch (RINO-UTAH) fell just a few votes shy of winning the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, which will force him into a June primary election for the first time since winning office in 1976.  I declare that good news.  I hope Utah voters turn out Hatch like they did his former colleague in 2010, which was Bob Bennett.  Hatch is a RINO who has been in the U.S. Senate for too long.  He likes to talk the conservative talk but he's made deals in the past with his "good friend" Ted Kennedy in the Senate.  Hatch has voted in the past for leftist Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg in 1993 when then president Bill Clinton appointed her to the Supreme Court to replace retiring justice Byron White.  I remember him speaking about how disastrous Obamacare is yet he never made any attempts to stage a filibuster to stop Obamacare from being passed by the Senate.  Hatch has served his time in the Senate.  It's time for him to go.  Hatch will face former Utah State Senator Dan Liljenquist in the June 26th primary.  The winner of the June primary will face former State Senator Scott Howell in the November election.

Watergate Figure and Evangelical Christian Chuck Colson Dies of Illness at 80

Watergate figure Chuck Colson dies of illness, 80 | Fox News

Former White House Aide and later Evangelical Christian Chuck Colson

Britt Hume (Fox News Report) on Chuck Colson

Watergate figure Chuck Colson, who was in prison for seven months due to his role in a Watergate-related case, has died at the age of 80.  He died Saturday at a northern Virginia hospital due to a brief illness.  Jim Liske, the chief executive of the Landsdowne, Va.-based Prison Fellowship Ministries that Colson founded said that the preliminary cause of death was complications from brain surgery Colson had at the end of March.  Colson will be remembered as the tough-as-nails special counsel for president Richard Nixon who once made the statement that he would "run over his grandmother to ensure Richard Nixon's re-election."  Colson was known for the trademark horn-rimmed glasses.  He was the "evil genius" of the Nixon administration.  The Washington Post described him in 1972 as "one of the most powerful presidential aides, variously described as a troubleshooter and as a 'master of dirty tricks.'"  He helped run the Committee to Re-elect the President when it set up an effort to gather up intelligence on the Democratic Party.  The arrest of CREEP's Security Director, James W. McCord, and four other men burglarizing the Democratic National Committee offices at the Watergate building complex in 1972 set off the scandal that led to Nixon's resignation in 1974.

In 1974 Colson pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in connection with attempts to discredit Daniel Ellsberg, though charges were dropped that Colson actually played a role in the burglarly of Ellsberg's
psychiatrist's office.  Charges related to the actual Watergate burglarly and cover-up were also dropped.  He served seven months in prison.  Before he went to prison, Colson became a born-again Christian.  Critics said his profession was a ploy to get his sentence reduced.

Colson said his going to prison was a great blessing.  In 1976 he created the Prison Fellowship Ministries to minister to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families.  It runs work-release programs, marriage seminars, and classes once prisoners leave prisoner.  An international offshoot establsihed chapters around the world.

Dottie Rambo: The Gifted Songwriter of the Twentieth Century

We've Weather Storms Before

Thank You Sweet Lord

My Unchanging Friend

Wonder if Anyone Cares at All

Following Dottie and Buck Rambo's divorce, Dottie was still struggling with her back problems.  She also traveled a limited amount during this time.  Many people thought she was deceased because she practically had faded away from public view.  She made sparse appearances in the 1990's on on various specials such as the Gaither Homecoming series, for example.  She even performed in a Christmas special in 1994.  Things didn't dramatically improve for Dottie until she became acquainted with Larry and Judy Ferguson, a husband and wife management team.  If I heard correctly, Dottie had met them during the 1996 National Quartet Convention in Louisville.  Once Larry became Dottie's manager, she started improving physically.  He said that when he became her manager, she was doing very well just to get out of bed.  Her lungs were deteriorating and nobody was taking care of her.  I don't know all the events that took place following Dottie's divorce, but she didn't rebound physically until Larry and Judy Ferguson became involved in Dottie's life.  Once her health started improving, she started traveling on the road singing once more.  I believe she started back into full-time singing around 2002.

In 2002, Dottie went into the studio in years recording an album entitled, "Stand by the River."  She recorded that song in a duet with Dolly Parton.  Her CD became popular as a result of that duet.  Dottie also recorded two more CD's prior to her death in 2008.  Her last CD was entitled "Sheltered", which was a remake of many of her old songs with different artists such as Lulu Roman, the Whites, and Porter Wagoner, for example.

Over the years she has received numerous awards for her songwriting and singing.  Here's a list of some of the awards she and her family have received over the years:

1994.... Songwriter of the Century Award

1981... Songwriter of the Year
Song of the Year "We Shall Behold Him"

1991... Gospel Music Hall of Fame

2001... Lifetime Achievement Award

2001... Gospel Music Hall of Fame "The Rambos"

2002... Living Legend Award

2004... Songwriter of the Year

2008... Christian Music Hall of Fame Inductee

Next Sunday I'll conclude with my final post on "Dottie Rambo: The Gifted Songwriter of the Twentieth Century."

Longtime Tennessee Women's Pat Summit Steps Down

Pat Summitt steps down at Tennessee - chicagotribune.com

Summitt steps down

Former Tennessee head coach Pat Summitt

Longtime Tennessee women's head coach Pat Summit has decided to step down from the program due to the early onset of dementia which she announced to the public in August 2011.  Even though she's stepping aside from drawing plays and calling timeouts during the game, she won't be out of the basketball arena altogether.  She will remain with Tennessee as "head coach emeritus" where she'll be a liasion between the basketball program and athletic department.  She will remain involved with on-campus recruiting and continue to interact with members of the program.  Summit, who turns 60 in June, will hand over the reins to longtime assistant Holly Warlick, who's been an assistant at Tennessee since 1985.  Warlick also played on Summitt's first Tennesee team.

Pat Summitt has been the face of women's college basketball ever since women's sports has been revitalized with Richard Nixon's signing of Title IX, which allowed girls and women to play sports in high school and college.  Summit, who was know as Pat Head when she first became the women's head coach at Tennessee, has had a very successful career at the school.  She's the all-time winningest coach of both men and women.  Summitt ends her career with a record 1098 wins, two shy of 1100.  She had 208 losses.  She has won eight national titles in her 38 year career for the Lady Vols.  She won back-to-back championships on two different occasions, the first time from the years 1996-98.  In 1998 the Lady Vols had a 39-0 undefeated championship season.  They won back-to-back titles the second time from 2007-08.  2008 was the last year Summitt won a national championship.  She has also competed in more Final Fours in NCAA history than any particular coach.  In 2002 she surpassed former UCLA head coach John Wooden in all time Final Four appearances.  She was a player on the 1976 U.S. Olympic team that won a Silver medal in Montreal.  She was a coach of the 1984 team that won Gold in Los Angeles.

GOP Senate Blocks Obama's 'Buffet Rule' For Minimum Tax Rate on Millionaires

Senate GOP blocks Obama's 'Buffett rule' for minimum tax rate on millionaires | Fox News

Senate Republicans on Monday blocked President Obama's so-called 'Buffet rule' which would require a minimum tax rate on millionaires.  It failed to advance in a procedural vote Monday.  The measure received majority support, 51-45, but failed to receive the 60 needed for majority support for the legislation to advance in the Senate.

The Obama administration never gives up on trying to find ways to raise taxes.  The truth of the matter is any "tax" on the wealthy, which would include the 'Buffet rule", would inevitably affect the middle class.  The wealthy that Obama speaks of would be those who create jobs in America.  The last thing we need is to hinder the wealthy when it comes to creating jobs.  The only way this economy will grow is for the private sector to grow unhindered.  That won't happen with additional taxes.  I wrote about this particular issue last August and said that if President Obama and Congressional Democrats are such strong believers that we need more revenue from taxes to pay down the debt, then why don't they contribute an additional 25% -30% of their own income to the federal government to pay down the debt?  Why don't they lead the way?  If they're serious about reducing the deficit, then they need to donate a greater portion of their income to the federal treasury.  I guarantee you they're wealthy enough that it wouldn't hurt them to donate a portion of their incomes to taxes.  It would just be fair.  Consequently, they're nothing but liars and hypocrites.  They will squeeze every dime they can out of the average American taxpayer but they're not going to pay extra in taxes if they can find a loophole to get out of it.

Ann Romney Fires Back From the Hilary Rosen Charge That She Never Worked

Ann Romney fires back at never-worked charge

Ann Romney

On Thursday, Ann Romney fought back against charges Hilary Rosen made that Ann Romney isn't no economic expert because she hasn't worked a day in her life.  The furor erupted on Wednesday when Rosen said on CNN that Romney, whose husband is worth millions, never had to work to pay the bills and not be her husband's surrogate on the economy.  Rosen said, "His wife has actually never worked a day in her life.  She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of women in this country are facing."

I want to applaud Ann Romney for the hard work and dedication she displayed towards raising her five sons for several years.  Ann Romney's exactly right.  Raising five sons was very hard work.  Raising children is a harder job than working as an executive in an office for several hours a day.  Mitt was right in crediting his wife with raising their children.  Raising a family at home is much harder work than working out in the work force.  You're not dealing with robots when molding children.  It's a special task that shouldn't be taken lightly by feminists or anybody who makes light of a mother making the decision that raising her family is the best thing she can do.

Hilary Rosen made the charge that Ann Romney doesn't understand the plight of women due to the fact her husband is wealthy and she didn't have to work a day in her life to pay the bills.  However, I'm not sure how much Michelle Obama understands the plight of the majority of women either.  She and the president are an affluent family themselves.  (More than likely not to the extent the Romneys are).  They've been vacationing quite extensively since President Obama took the oath of office on January 20, 2009.  She's not living like the vast majority of working mothers in this country.  Political pundits are always making the charge Republicans don't understand the plight of working women.  I doubt that any of the elected elite in Washington (Democrat or Republican) understand the plight of working women.  They live a life in Washington that the average American doesn't live.  They're always being paid money by lobbyists. They're living better financially than the average American is.

Fox News Poll: Romney Edges Obama as Approval of President Drops

Fox News Poll: Romney Edges Obama as Approval of President Drops | Fox News

APTOPIX Romney 2012_Carm.jpg
(April 11, 2012) Republican candidate Mitt Romney waves at the crowd before addressing them during a campaign event in Warwick, Rhode Island

According to the Fox News Poll on April 12, 2012, Republican candidate Mitt Romney holds a slim lead over President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup.  In addition to that, the poll also finds the president's approval rating has dropped to its lowest point this year.  In a presidential matchup, Mitt Romney would top Obama in the 2012 presidential race 46% - 44% if the election were held today.  Even though the poll shows Romney with a slim lead over Obama, the race is still too close to call.  It's within the poll's margin of sampling error.  This was the first time since November 2011 that Romney topped Obama in a Fox News poll.

One of the things that concerns me concerning this year's presidential race is that Mitt Romney doesn't have solid support among many conservative voters.  Conservative support for Romney has been divided thus far.  That turned out to be the case when most of the Deep South voted for Rick Santorum, who dropped out of the presidential race last Tuesday.  Santorum's campaign simply ran out of money and didn't have enough cash to continue the race.  Also, Santorum was far behind Romney in the delegate count as well.  One of the problems with Romney is during his tenure as governor of Massachusetts he showed he isn't the conservative candidate he portrays himself to be.  As governor, Romney signed a healthcare bill which critics dub as "Romneycare" in April 2006.  Romneycare is very similar to Obamacare with the exception it's statewide instead of nationwide.  Newsmax reported that the Romney advisors who advised Romney on Romneycare are the same ones who advised President Obama on the bill which eventually became Obamacare.  Romney claims he desires to repeal Obamacare.  However, he passed a similar bill in the state of Massachusetts.  How did Romneycare fit into Massachusetts budget, Mr. Businessman?  Romney touts his business experience as being qualified to become the next president of the United States yet he passes a healthcare bill that will bankrupt Massachusetts.  That makes a lot of sense!!!  Romney hasn't proven himself to be trustworthy.  He has a credibility gap that he needs to closed if he has a chance to defeat Barack Obama in November.

Dottie Rambo: The Gifted Songwriter of the Twentieth Century (Part 21)

This is My Father's World

God's House of Rest

I Call Him Lord

He Brought Me Through

Which Road Leads to Heaven

New Shoes

Sailing Toward Home

Somebody Stepped on Board

We're That Generation

Following the botched up back surgery that was performed on Dottie, she was in back pain for a number of years.  The surgeon was supposed to only cut three nerves.  He instead cut 136 nerves.  As a result, part of her body was in a cast.  She was paralyzed on her left side of the body.  The pain was worse than ever.  For the next few years she had at least nine or ten back surgeries to correct the problems from the botched surgery, supposedly to no avail.  The future looked bleak for Dottie.  It didn't appear there ever would be a chance for her to sing once again in public.  As a result of all the pain she experienced, she made very few public appearances the next several years.

After all the failed back surgeries, Dottie and Buck finally went to a neurologist named Dr. Reginald Davis from Baltimore, Maryland.  Dr. Davis was a black surgeon and a Christian.  Dottie asked for Dr. Davis to snap a photo of Dottie wrapped around like a coil.  He did so.  Her back was mutilated.  All the nerves that were cut to supposedly deaden the pain from a previous surgery wrapped themselves together and they attached themselves to her spine.  As a result, her leg felt like it was burning.  It was a miracle that she was ever able to walk again.  Dr. Davis told her that he could perform surgery on her but that she only had a 50-50 chance of surviving.  She talked about it with her family and they agreed to the surgery.  Before the surgery she prayed with her doctor.  Dr. Davis performed the surgery.  It didn't stop the pain, but at least she survived.  Dottie would have to deal with excruciating back pain for the next several years.

Buck and Dottie Divorce

I don't know the full story behind the final separation of Buck and Dottie Rambo, but I will say what little I do know.  In the television special "Behind the Music", which spoke of Dottie Rambo's life, said that while she was going on for surgery, she discovered that Buck was once again having an affair.  I've seen speculation on some websites that Buck ran off with their secretary.  Whether that's true or not I can't verify it.  I do know that Dottie decided she was going to end this once and for all.  She decided she had enough after Buck's unfaithfulness in years past and she wasn't going to tolerate this for the rest of her life.  So she and Buck separated in 1992 and their divorce became final in 1994.  Buck remarried not too long after he and Dottie divorced.  Dottie never remarried.  A few years later, Dottie met the man who would eventually become her business manager, Larry Ferguson, and it was through his and his wife's efforts that Dottie eventually recovered and would travel on the road once again.

New Study Shows ObamaCare Increases Deficit, Knocking Down President's Vow

New Study Shows ObamaCare Increases Deficit, Knocking Down President's Vow | Fox News

obamacare signing_032310
President Obama after signing the healthcare bill in the East room in the White House in Washington.  The signing took place on March 23, 2010.

President Won't Sign Bill That Adds to the Deficit

In 2009 President Obama promised that he wouldn't sign a health insurance bill that would add a dime to the deficit.  Do you remember him saying that?  Well, there's a study out from a former Bush administration official named Charles Blahous that says the health care law will at least add $340 billion to the national deficit, a figure which the White House considers "faulty" and "partisan.  I do recognize that Blahous served in the National Economic Council in the Bush administration.  However, he is a public trustee who oversees Medicare and Social Security finances who should know something about the numbers.  As much as President Obama has lied, how can anyone trust Obama when he says that Obamacare won't add to the deficit?  The healthcare bill that was signed in 2010 contains 2700 pages.  In order to pressure key Democratic Senators and House members to sign the bill, the Obama administration and Congressional leaders used an array of bribes and kickbacks (such as the Cornhusker kickback) to ensure that the Affordable Healthcare bill would be passed by both Houses of Congress.  Any bogus bill that contains 2700 pages is going to be full of pork.  Who knows what's in the bill?  I don't.  I doubt the Democrats who voted for the bill knows what the entire bill contains.  There are so many bribes and paybacks in that bill that it's not even funny.

When all the provisions of Obamacare are enacted in 2014, we'll find out whether or not Obamacare adds to the deficit.  I project the estimated figures are very conservative.  I wouldn't be surprised if Obamacare costs double that.  We'll find out whenever insurance premiums increase to levels never seen before.  As expensive as health care costs been within the last couple of decades, how can we expect Obama's healthcare bill will drive down costs?  If it's true that Obamacare won't add a dime to the deficit, then that will mean that the quality of healthcare will be dramatically reduced.  I'm making reference to healthcare services and advances.  The kinds of advances that's been made in the medical field within the last few decades will come to a screeching halt because any type of innovation in the medical field costs money.   I challenge anyone to try to prove that healthcare costs won't skyrocket when Obamacare is fully implemented in 2014.  The bribes and paybacks alone will be costly.

Mike Wallace Dead: '60 Minutes' Icon Dies At 93

Mike Wallace Dead: '60 Minutes' Icon Dies At 93

Mike Wallace of CBS Has Died

Mike Wallace Interviews William Westmoreland

Legendary broadcaster Mike Wallace died Saturday at age 93, just one month shy of turning 94.  He died at a long-term care center in New Canaan, Connecticut.  He was surrounded by family members.  Mike Wallace was the father of Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, who hosts Fox News Sunday.  Mike Wallace was married four times.  He divorced Chris' mother when Chris was one.  As a result, Mike and Chris Wallace never developed much of a relationship together until Chris was 14.

Wallace had been ill for a number of years.  He hasn't been in good health since he had triple-bypass heart surgery in 2008.  He wasn't even able to attend the January memorial service of Andy Rooney, another 60 Minutes legend who died last November at age 92. Chris Wallace said right before his father passed away that he was showing his age for the first time.  He was slipping mentally.  He remembered his children and grandchildren but never mentioned anything about working for 60 Minutes.  It's just as if that part of his life never existed, according to Chris.

He was born Myron Leon Wallace on May 4, 1918.  He was the son of an immigrant who was an insurance broker.  His family had hoped he would become a doctor, but Wallace had a desire for journalism after working for the University of Michigan's college radio station.  Wallace's career spanned seven decades.  By 1941 he was the announcer for the popular radio program, the Green Hornet.  During World War II he served as a Naval Communications Officer.  In the early 1950's he joined the CBS Network.  He eventually left CBS and made himself a name being known as a tough interviewer.  It was the death of his son Peter, who was 19 in 1962 that prompted Wallace to go solely to news.  Wallace rejoined CBS News in 1963.  Prior to joining 60 Minutes in 1968, he was a Vietnam War correspondent.  Over the years Wallace interviewed Hollywood legends such as Barbara Streisand, for example, seven U.S. presidents, foreign leaders, baseball legends, and the list continues.

Santorum Suspends Campaign, Paving Way For Romney To Take GOP Nomination

Santorum Suspends Campaign, Paving Way For Romney To Take GOP Nomination | Fox News

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, defying long odds to become the top contender for the GOP nomination, has made the decision along with his family to suspend his presidential campaign.  Santorum's departure paves the way for frontrunner Mitt Romney to challenge President Obama in November.  Santorum's announcement came as a surprise, even though his chances in the presidential campaign are facing unlikely odds.  Santorum steps aside just two weeks until the Pennsylvania primary on April 24.  Polls already show Mitt Romney leading in Pennsylvania.

Santorum had to leave the campaign trail Friday to tend to his daughter, Isabella, who was hospitalized with pneumonia Friday.  She has a life-threatening genetic disorder known as Trisonomy 18.  Santorum, who is trailing way behind Romney in the delegate race, has been outspent by Mitt Romney on every turn.  Santorum doesn't have the organization that Romney has.  According to the latest delegate totals, Romney has 661 delegates, Santorum has 285, Gingrich has 136, and Paul has 51.

We Get the Government We Deserve (Part 3 Continued)

The White House   Capitol Hill

We get the government we deserve not so much because of our elected elite, but the very fact that for generations upon generations millions of Americans have continually re-elected incumbent politicians who shouldn't have been re-elected.  We've voted for those not based on their moral character nor for those who will uphold the Constitution, but for those that promise us benefits.  The reason why some Americans in certain states such as Illinois, California, New York, etc. keep re-electing the same old ilk is because they appeal to those groups of voters by promising them the government will take care of them.  The government will provide you healthcare, will help finance your mortgages, will pay for your college education, will provide you welfare benefits, etc.  I will acknowledge that the mainstream voters in the South and the Midwest vote differently for the most part than voters in the northeastern states and California.  They tend to be more conservative in their voting.  That's why we saw them go red in 2010 because they were tired of the corruption from incumbent politicians (mostly Democrats).  They were tired of excessive government spending and government intruding into our daily lives.  I will admit part of the problem with the blue states such as the northeastern states and California is they have been infiltrated with illegal immigrants so that's played a role with the change in voting patterns.

We've raised a generation of Americans that's apathetic, lazy, indifferent to current events and what's happening in government, and are not raised in a solid Bible-believing church.  More Americans are interested in watching American Idol and NFL football than they are interested in the House of God and what's happening in our communities across America.  We are an entertained crazed generation.  John Adams once said that our Constitution was only for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate for any other.  America has strayed far from it's founding principles.  America was settled by a group of people who loved God and wanted the freedom to worship God as they saw fit.  They didn't come to America looking for a handout or for the government to take care of them from cradle to grave.  They believed if they didn't provide for their own living, then they would starve. We no longer possess the independence we once did.  More and more Americans are relying on government for more and more services in their lives today.  Don't we realize that if government has the power to give you something they have the power to take it away?  As a result of the government intruding in more areas of our lives, we're become more and more enslaved to the government.

We as Americans need to stop looking to Washington to solve our problems.  Our answer is not in Washington.  It's in the Lord.  America has come too far down the road from a moral, spiritual, and economic standpoint to expect our politicians to rescue us.  The transforming of America that President Obama spoke of when he ran for president in 2008 is almost complete.  We're close to becoming a fascist nation.  I guarantee you the evidence will be there when all of the provisions of Obamacare are implemented in 2014, for example.  No politician is going to deliver America from it's moral, social, political, economic, and spiritual troubles.  Our only answer is in Jesus Christ.  I want to quote Psalms 121:1 in closing.  "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help."

We Get the Government We Deserve (Part 3)

Capitol Hill    The White House

Back in 2010 I wrote a number of posts centering on the theme "We get the government we deserve."  I was expounding upon the different reasons why I believe we Americans as a whole get the government we deserve.  Today I want to center your attention to the theme, The Mindset of America.  I know some people are going to say, "It doesn't make any difference who you vote for, nothing ever changes."  That's the truth.  I know it's frustrating because regardless who wins the elections, our politicians are still taking this country down the road to destruction--Democrat or Republican.  I want to make a statement here.  We need to stop looking to Washington to solve our problems.  We need to stop thinking that the Democrats or the Republicans are going to save this country.  They aren't going to do the right thing.  Both political parties are bought and co-opted by the same interest groups.  The forces of Nimrod control our elected elite.  They're the ones that control the gold, silver, and all the political events that transpire arond our world.  When I hear politicians making the same promises over and over, I have come to the point that I refuse to place my trust in any of them.  I don't care if it's Michelle Bachmann, Paul Ryan, Jim DeMint, and Rand Paul, etc.  Some of these Republicans make the right statements, but they're not utilizing the resources they have at hand to derail President Obama's agenda.  Michelle Bachmann repeatedly states that she's going to fight to repeal Obamacare.  I would like to ask Ms. Bachmann why doesn't she organize a group of House Republicans to strip off funding for Obamacare?  If she won't do that, I don't want to hear her campaign promises that she's going to repeal Obamacare.  She won't.  They want the issue, but they have no intention to solve the problem.  That's the truth.  I've heard Republicans proclaim for years they're going to rein in government spending and rid America of its dependence on foreign oil.  They never do.  They're only interested in their political careers.  They'll say whatever it takes to get re-elected.  Democrats are the same way.

I've heard the old saying that our elected elite are representative of the American people.  I sadly find it true.  Why aren't many Americans disturbed by the fraud and corruption among our elite more than they are?  Why is it that we have Congressmen and Senators with the morals of an alleycat and it doesn't bother many people?  Last year former Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-NY) resigned after it had been discovered he had been sexting on the internet.  How many people does that bother?  How much does it bother the American people that our elected elite lie to us on a regular basis?  They make promises to us continually they have no intention of keeping.  The Republicans promised us in 2010 that they would rein in government spending and trying to stop Obamacare.  As I speak, House Republicans have made no effort to defund Obamacare and spending continually keeps climbing.  ( I wouldn't jump the gun and assume the U.S. Supreme Court is going to strike down Obamacare).  I would like to ask conservative and Christian voters how much does it bother you when they make promises to stop wasteful spending or are working to drill for more domestic oil and nothing ever seems to come to fruition?  Aren't you tired of hearing Republicans make the same promises but never do anything to stop President Obama's agenda?  I would like to ask those voters who vote Democrat don't you get tired of hearing Democrats (including President Obama) say they'll remove our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan but the troops are still in Afghanistan and on top of that are also in Libya?  Thankfully our troops are out of Iraq for the most part but that was due to an agreement that former president George W. Bush made with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri-al-Maliki in December 2008.  I can recall Democrats in 2006 complaining of high gas prices but they haven't done anything to stop high gas prices since President Obama's been in office.  Democrats have made promises as well they haven't kept.  Both political parties are pathetic.  I'm not disappointed in the Democrats because they're doing what I expect.  They're proven to be European socialists.  I'm disappointed in Republicans because their actions and their words are in variance with one another.  The Republicans try to fool the conservative voters and make them think they are going to return our government to the Constitution but they don't try to stop President Obama's agenda.  It's just business as usual.  I'm sick of it.

We've raised a generation that today possesses this mindset that the government owes them a living.  I've listened to many people over the years and when it comes to voting for politicians. Their mind is focused upon voting for a politician that will provide for them government handouts and government benefits such as healthcare.  The mindset of today's generation has strayed far from the mindset of Americans in the eighteenth century when this country was founded.  There was a time when Americans believed in the concept of rugged individualism, which is we work for our own living.  We labor with our own hands and we enjoy the fruit of our own labors.  The American people at one time believed it was their own personal responsibility to provide for their own living.  Today we've developed this mindset it's the responsibility of the government to take care of us.  That's where the notion of the nanny state comes in.

I'll conclude with this thought on Wednesday April 11, 2012.

$5 Trillion Tax Hike Coming

$5 Trillion Tax Hike Coming

The website, "The New American" is reporting a tsunami of tax increases that are coming next year on January 1, 2013.  But then Lori Montgomery began to add up all the other taxes that increased by January 1, 2013 and called it "Taxmageddon."  "The New American presents a partial list of taxes that will increase when Congress intervenes again next January.  One thing that will certainly happen is the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts will expire.  Then gift and state taxes, and the marriage penalty tax will return, to name a few.

I can remember former U.S. Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN) airing ads pleading with Americans (in 2010) to urge their Congressmen to vote to renew the Bush tax cuts before the year 2010 ended.  Thompson said at the time there would be automatic tax increases on January 1, 2011 if Congress failed to act.  As it turned out, the lame-duck session of the 111th Congress voted to extend the tax cuts until December 31, 2012.  Consequently, the Republican-controlled House hasn't made any effort since the 112th Congress convened last January to make the Bush tax cuts permanent nor extend them. Consequently, I don't think they will act on it before the end of this year.  I will go as far as to say I'm not even sure if the House or Senate will extend the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts for another two years.  As of yet I haven't seen any efforts made by any of the Republicans from the House and Senate to extend the tax cuts or make them permanent before 2012 ends.

Where are the Republicans?  They tout themselves as the party that believes in low taxes.  I've heard Senator John McCain (R-AZ) say that so much that if I bet a $5 dollars everytime he made that statement I would be accumulating quite a bit of cash.  I'm not a betting man.  The truth is that the Republicans in both the House and Senate are fine with tax increases.  They aren't interested in changing the tax code nor are they interesting in trying to keep the Bush tax cuts.  You can't trust the Republicans.  Their words and their actions are at variance with one another.  The Republicans will say one thing but do the opposite.  We can't afford to place our trust in the Republican Party.  We need to vote out the GOP incumbents in this year's election as much as we need to vote out the Democrats in this year's election.

I project major tax increases are likely to happen next year because I see no willingness from the GOP to do what's right for our country.  They are bought and paid for by lobbyists just as much as Democrats are.  Click on the above link to read the story.

He Arose!

What Was in Jeremy's Egg?

Then Came the Morning

I have linked up an article from a website entitled, "What was in Jeremy's Egg?"  This article appeared in Focus on the Family in April 1988 and it's a true story.  The names were changed for privacy's sake.  A few years ago Miss Edith Bennett on 1490 WOMI radio in Owensboro recited this story about Jeremy's egg.  This story is very touching.  I'm not saying it's touching because it was about a young boy named Jeremy who was a special needs student.  It was because of the truth presented concerning new life.  All the students in the classroom were given large Easter eggs and had to bring it back to class the next day with something in it signifying new life.  Different students placed different things in the eggs such as a flower, a plastic butterfly that appeared real, a rock with moss on it, and an empty egg.  The empty egg was Jeremy's.  His teacher thought he didn't understand what the assignment was.  The truth was he fully understood.  We have new life because Jesus arose from the grave.  If Jesus remained in the grave, there would be no gospel message that Jesus saves.  There would be no new life if Christ was still in the tomb.  That's why that's so special.

I Corinthians 15:17 says, "If Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins."  The Apostle Paul was asking those at the church of Corinth how could some say there is no resurrection of the dead?  Paul said if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen.  Verse 14 says, "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain."  Anyone that belittles the resurrection of Christ is preaching heresy.  They're preaching a false gospel.  Without the resurrection of Christ, death and hell wouldn't be defeated.  As important as the death of Christ was on the cross, it would've been in vain if he never arose from the grave.  There's never been anyone in this earth who's existed from the beginning of time that has ever been resurrected from the grave.  EXCEPT ONE!!! THAT'S JESUS!  He did something that no mortal man has ever done.  He arose from the grave.  That's why we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus every Sunday morning.  HE arose from the grave.  As a result, those who are saved have eternal life.  Death has no hold on us because Jesus was victorious.  He defeated sin, hell, and the grave through His resurrection.  We have so much to be eternally grateful for.

I'm thankful we don't serve a dead Saviour.  If he was still dead, then all of the church's evangelistic efforts would be in vain.  Our faith would be in vain if he wasn't sitting on the right hand of the Father.  I'm thankful for that morning when we came up from that grave.  One of these days when Christ comes for his bride all the dead in Christ will arise from their graves and those that are alive and remain will be caught up with Him! (I Thessalonians 4:17)

A Fresh Glimpse of Calvary

Don't Let Me Walk Too Far From Calvary

One of my favorite songs that the late Dottie Rambo penned is entitled "Don't Let Me Walk Too Far From Calvary."  That song without question is one of the top 10 songs she has written.  When I say top ten, I'm not making reference to popular hits, I'm making reference to the scriptural quality of that song.  That song has a message that every saved person should heed.  One of the reasons why many saved people grow cold and backslide is because they've not allowed Calvary to be fresh in their minds and hearts.  I believe we need to remember on a daily basis what Jesus did for us on Calvary.  Calvary isn't something we should remember only during Easter season or on Easter Sunday.  We shouldn't limit our remembrance to the price Jesus paid on Calvary when we partake of the Lord's Supper.  Calvary should be at the center of our thoughts and fresh on our minds every day of our lives.  He died because of our sins.  Our sins nailed him to the cross.  To read about the crucifixion of Jesus, you can read John 19 from the King James Bible.
When I first heard that song, I was thinking about the scripture from II Peter 1:5-9 where the Apostle Peter exhorts us how important it is for Christians to add to their faith.  In verse 9 it says those who fail to add to their faith are blind and cannot see afar off and have forgotten that they have been purged from their old sins.  I believe those who fail to add to their faith have taken their eyes off Calvary.  They've become so familiar with Calvary to the point that it's just an historical event to them.  Calvary is personal to those whose hearts are right with God.  Calvary is real to them.  They realize they're the reason why Jesus died on Calvary's cross.  It's their sins that nailed Him to the cross.  Calvary is personal to the those who have been redeemed by the blood of the lamb.  A child of God whose heart is right with the Lord recognizes that he/she deserves hell and is unworthy.  God has performed a work of grace that no man could do.  God's given that person a divine nature.  As II Corinthians 5:17 says, any person that's in Christ is a new creature.

We should never allow Calvary to grow old to us.  We should always remember what led Jesus to Calvary.  Jesus didn't go to Calvary because of the Jews or because of Pilate.  It was because of our sins that Christ died on Calvary.  Jesus willingly laid his life down.  Jesus said in John 10:18 "No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.  I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again."  Christ was predestined to go to the old rugged cross before the foundation of the world was laid.  When Calvary ceases to be personal to us, then we are a good candidate for backsliding and growing cold on the Lord.  Let's remember fresh and anew the price Jesus paid on Calvary for mankind.

(Written by Dottie Rambo)

As long as I can see you hanging on a distant cross
Dying between two common thieves spat upon and mocked
As long as I can see your open wounds that bleed for me
That I can be what you want you to be.

But don't let me walk too far from Calvary
Don't spare the agony of Gethsemane
I might soon forget the death you died for me
That's why I pray Lord, don't let me stray too far from Calvary.

------------Instrumental--------------------

If I can hear the hammer ring and see your wounded side
If I can feel the pain you felt when you hung your head and died
If I can see forgiveness in your eyes of love for me
Lord I can be what you want me to be.

Don't let me walk too far from Calvary
Don't spare the agony of Gethsemane
I might soon forget the death you died for me
That's why I pray Lord, don't let me stray too far from Calvary
Oh, that's why I pray God, don't let me stray too far from Calvary....

(II Peter 1:3-10) "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.  Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:"

Obama's Beloved Law Professor: Derrick Bell

Obama's Beloved Law Professor: Derrick Bell

Derrick Bell, President Obama's former law professor from Harvard

Since Barack Obama first ran for president in 2008, we've been learning through different conservative media outlets considerable information about the different associations Barack Obama had been aligning himself with such as his former radical minister Jeremiah Wright from Trinity United Church of Chirst in Chicago, Franklin Marshall Davis, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, former Weatherman Underground Terrorists who opposed the Vietnam War, Tony Rezko and the list continues.  The liberal media such as MSNBC has ridiculed conservative websites and conservative media who point out the people that President Obama has aligned himself with.  They are co-conspirators and monkey boys for the Obama administration.  If you want to know the philosophical beliefs or the direction a potential president will lead the country you must know who are the people propping up the president.  Those who prop up the president are the ones who determine the direction America will be headed.  Frome everything we've learned about Obama's associations, they ae nothing but pure communists that are out to radically transform this country into a socialist country.  You can find that reflected in the laws passed under the Obama administration.

Jerome Corsi wrote a book four years ago entitled, The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cultist Personality.  Corsi went into detail about those whom Obama associates himself with.  It's very scary when you read about the corruption involved with Obama's minions.  When the American public learned about ACORN and the role they played in Obama's election in 2008 through Fox News, for example, we discovered the corruption involved with this organization.  Glenn Beck expounded a considerable amount of time about ACORN two years ago when he had his television program on Fox News.

Breitbart.com has an article about a professor from Harvard that Barack Obama had contacts with while he was a student at Harvard.  It says that Obama embraced the racially charged cause of Professor Derrick Bell.  Both Obama and Bell demanded that Harvard hire professors on the basis of race.  Not only did Bell advocate race-based hiring at Harvard, he also espoused a racialist legal theory called Critical Race Theory.  It argues that the law is a weapon of the majority of whites to "oppress people of racist color."  It argues for "structural racism" which is the idea that American institutions are aligned against blacks whether the oppressor is the criminal justice system, businesses, the government, etc. Critical Race Theory advocates for racially unfair implementation of the law to right past injustice.  It's that type of philosophy that supports preferential hiring based on race to make sure that blacks and other minorites are "equally represented" in the workforce.  Instead of equally applying the law to all Americans, it promotes "reverse discrimination."

Mitt Romney Pulls Ahead with Primary Wins in Wisconsin, Maryland, DC

Mitt Romney Pulls Ahead with Primary Wins in Wisconsin, Maryland, DC | Fox News Latino

Romney-sweep-primaries.jpg
Mitt Romney declares victory in the Wisconsin presidential primary on Tuesday April 3, 2012.

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney pulled out a string of victories in Maryland, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia on Tuesday.  With his lead ever clearer in the race, Romney turned his attention toward President Obama.  "Four more years?" Romney asked sarcastically of President Obama as supporters cheered in Milwaukee.  He stated Obama "was a little out of touch" after four years with all the trappings of power and had presided over near-record job losses as well as increases in poverty, home foreclosures, government debt, and gasoline prices.  In Washington, President Obama said things could get worse if Romney and the Republicans got their way.  I have a question for President Obama: What have you done during your administration to steer us away from the quasi-socialist policies from George W. Bush?  That's something Romney should be asking the president.  Since Obama has become president, he has taken the baton handed to him by Bush and kept on running full speed ahead.  Under President Obama, government bailouts have continued, there are even more government regulations, our troops are still in Afghanistan and gas prices are continually climbing to record heights.

The Kentucky Wildcats have done it again.  They have won eight NCAA titles--only second to UCLA.  UCLA has a total of 11 NCAA titles.  Kentucky won their first NCAA title for the first time since 1998 when Kentucky under then first year head coach Tubby Smith defeated Utah 78-69 in the championship game that year.  The victory gives Kentucky Coach John Calipari his first NCAA title after leading three teams to the Final Four during his coaching tenure: Massachusetts, Memphis, and Kentucky.  (The Final Fours at Massachusetts and Memphis were vacated due to NCAA sanctions).  Calipari won a national championship with a squad that consisted of mostly freshmen.  The squad also featured two sophomores in Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb and one senior, Darius Miller from Maysville, Kentucky.  Kentucky's superior freshmen consisted of Anthony Davis, Marquis Teague, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Kyle Witljer.  Davis is the first UK player to be awarded the Naismith trophy for college player of the year on Sunday.  Davis is the second freshman to win the Naismith trophy.  Texas's Kevin Durant was the first freshman to win it in 2007.

Kentucky defeated Kansas for the title 67-59.  The title game against Kansas was Kentucky's second rematch with them.  Kentucky played Kansas in the second game of the year on November 15, 2011 and won 75-65 in a classic tipoff game in New York.  Kansas was one of three rematches that Kentucky played in the NCAA tournament this year.  In the Sweet Sixteen Kentucky played a rematch with Indiana, which was the only team that Kentucky lost to during the regular season.  In the national semifinals, Kentucky won a rematch with Louisville.

Even though Anthony Davis, the national player of the year was scoreless in the first half, he was still a force on both ends of the floor.  He had nine rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.  Throughout the first half and part of the second half, Kentucky had a double-digit lead over Kansas.  In the second half Kansas clawed its way back to within five points, but they could never come closer.  Kentucky was definitely the superior team and the team to beat in the NCAA tournament.  Congratulations to a job well done to the Kentucky Wildcats.

All five starters (which include three freshmen and two sophomores) are expected to enter the NBA draft in June.  To read the full story on WSJ.com.

Kentucky Powers Past Louisville in the Final Four

Final Four — Kentucky Powers Past Louisville - NYTimes.com

Kentucky guard Marquis Teague fends off a steal attempt by Louisville's Gorgui Dieng in the Wildcat's 69-61 victory in the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Top seeded Kentucky pulled off a 69-61 victory over the fourth seeded Louisville in the national semifinals in the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.  This is the first time that both teams ever faced each other in the Final Four. Both Louisville and Kentucky made Final Four appearances in 1975, but they didn't face each other that year.  Louisville barely lost to UCLA by a 75-74 score.  UCLA went on to beat Kentucky in the championship game 92-85.  Even though that this is the first year that Louisville and Kentucky faced each other in the Final Four, they have faced each other in NCAA tournament play in the past.  Louisville played Kentucky en route to the Final Four in 1959.  Louisville beat Kentucky in the regional that year.  On March 26, 1983, both Louisville and Kentucky played each other in the Mideast Regional Final.  That game was dubbed the "Dream Game" because Louisville and Kentucky hadn't played each other for years, whether it be in the tournament or a regular season game.  Louisville fans for years were yearning for a regular season matchup against Kentucky on a yearly basis.  They had their chance when both the Cards and the Cats faced each other in the Mideast regional to earn a berth to the Final Four that year.  The "Dream Game" resulted in a yearly matchup with Kentucky beginning in December 1983.  In that game Louisville beat Kentucky in overtime 80-68, which resulted in a Final Four trip for Louisville.

The Kentucky and Louisville faithful flocked once again to see this game in the New Orleans Superdome.  Even though to many Kentucky and Louisville fans, this was another one of those intrastate rivalries, this was just another game to both the Louisville and the Kentucky teams as they were playing to advance to Monday's championship game.  Louisville played more aggressively in this game vs. the game they played in Rupp Arena on New Year's Eve.  In the matchup between the Cats and the Cardinals in December, Kentucky was dominant on the boards.  In Saturday's matchup, Louisville got several more second-chance opportunities when playing Saturday.  At one point in the first half, Kentucky held a 18-8 lead.  Louisville chipped away at that and at the half Kentucky led Louisville 35-28.  Louisville was led by Russ Smith and Chane Behanan.  The Wildcats were led by precocious freshman Anthony Davis with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
