At least 26 people were killed and 20 wounded in Texas after a gunman in tactical gear opened fire at a church outside San Antonio, Texas,  The shooting took place at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.  Multiple sources told Fox News that the identify of the gunman was 26-year old Devin Patrick Kelley.  The shooting unfolded around 11:30 a.m.  The church is 30 miles Southeast of San Antonio, Texas.  Investigators stated at a news conference that the victims ranged in age from 20 to 72.  20 were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to "very severe".  Sunday's shooting was the deadliest church shooting in U.S. history and Texas Governor Greg Abbott said that it was the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history.

A possible motive was unclear.  Kelley lived in a suburb of San Antonio and didn't appear to be a part of any organized terrorist groups.  An official said investigators were looked into social media posts to see what Kelley had posted in the final days up to the shooting.  There was one that appeared to show a semiautomatic weapon.  Kelley served in the military branch at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico from 2010 until he was discharged for bad conduct in 2014.  He was court-martialed in 2012 for assaulting his wife and child, and when he was discharged he received 12 months of confinement and a reduction in military rank.  Click on the above link from Fox News to read the full story.
