U.S. District Judge Overturns Gay Marriage Ban in Kentucky

U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn

A federal district judge in Kentucky has struck down Kentucky's gay marriage ban yesterday, though the ruling was temporarily put on hold and it wasn't clear when same-sex couples could be issued marriage licenses.  U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn in Louisville said the state's prohibition on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution in which homosexual couples are treated differently than heterosexual couples.

I knew this was coming since U.S. federal judges have been striking down gay marriage bans in other states.  Kentucky is the latest state in which a federal judge has overturned the gay marriage ban.  Kentucky is the 20th state in which it's gay marriage ban was overturned by a federal judge.  To read the full story, click on the link above.
