Mitt Romney Referred to the Late Senator Ted Kennedy as 'Collaborator & Friend'

Times: Romney Relied on Kennedy to Help Pass 'Romneycare'

Mitt Romney with the signing of 'Romneycare' in April 2006.  Then Governor Romney is flanked by former Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy.

Ted Kennedy and Mitt Romney

I was reading an article in Newsmax today and it was saying that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's support among the public is eroding.  I don't have a difficult time believing the conservative website's analysis.  Newsmax's findings were from the Washington Post's ABC Poll.  The poll says 34 percent of the public have a favorable view of him and 50 percent hold an unfavorable view of Romney.  As much as Mitt Romney's flip-flopped, is it any surprise?  He likes to portray himself as a conservative that knows how to create jobs in the private sector yet passed a healthcare bill that's a disaster to the citizens of Massachusetts.

Worse yet, Newsmax stated on Sunday March 25, 2012 that then Governor Mitt Romney relief on the late Senator Ted Kennedy to help craft Massachusetts healthcare law.  Romney was a close partner with the late Kennedy in crafting that bill.  Romney frequently referred to Kennedy as "my collaborator and friend."  Newsmax cites The New York Times in pointing out the extensive relationship Romney had with Kennedy.

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney wants to convince voters that if he were elected president he would issue a waiver allowing states to opt out of Obamacare or the Affordable Health Care Act of 2012.  Consequently, I don't know if I trust Romney to place his weight on trying to repeal this monstrous national healthcare law.  Romney likes to tout his business experience in stating why he's the right candidate for the presidency.  I would like to ask Romney how did he fit this statewide healthcare bill into Massachusetts budget in 2006.  Oh.... I know.  This bill was passed less than a year before Romney left office.  He wouldn't be sticking around to face the ramifications of Romneycare.  The Massachusetts healthcare law, which is a miniature version of Obamacare, is costly and burdensome.  It dictates to the citizens of Massachusetts that they must purchase healthcare.  This law gives the state of Massachusetts more control over the healthcare choices its citizens have.  I want to ask those who are most likely to vote for Mitt Romney this November or in the remaining GOP primaries would you believe he knew how to operate a business given the fact he passed Romneycare?  This law doesn't even make business sense.  The regulations in this bill makes it more costly for businesses to operate.  It contradicts Mitt Romney's claims he's a conservative and will put Americans back to work.

Mitt Romney is a liberal.  He's not conservative.  He's also flip-flopped on issues such as abortion and gay marriage.  Since he passed a miniature version of Obamacare while governor of Massachusetts, I have a very difficult time believing he will issue states a waiver to opt out of Obamacare.  I just don't buy into it.  He's proven himself to not be trustworthy.  Since Newsmax has revealed the close relationship Kennedy and Romney had in passing Romneycare, Romney's chances of beating Obama in November will be slimmer and slimmer.
