Will Obama's Address to the Muslim World help repair U.S.- Muslim relations?

President Barack Obama gave a speech in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday, June 4th. The purpose was to try to repair the relationship between the U.S. and the Muslim world. I don't see how it could be very successful because the Muslim world in the Middle East consider the U.S. to be the "Great Satan". Also those that don't agree with the Muslim world are branded as "infidels".

There are possibly two things that could be of a benefit to the U.S. but the government's not going to do anything about them. First of all, with the rigid dress standards and lifestyle that the Muslim world practices I know it's an offense to the Muslim world with all the so-called values that are being piped out of Hollywood into America. Do you think the Obama administration is going to tell Hollywood to clean up it's act and present programming that wouldn't be offensive to the Muslim world? Of course not.

Another thing that would benefit the U.S. and also protect our national security interests would be for the U.S. to engage in domestic oil drilling and finding energy alternatives so we won't be depedent on foreign oil. This whole thing's a farce because we've had 36 years in which we could've drilled for our own oil and have become independent of Middle Eastern oil. We need to marginalize the Middle East so they can be irrelevant to America's interests. The reason we're still dependent on oil from the Middle East is because the powers-that-be want to send all our dollars to Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia which does nothing but prop up their corrupt regimes.

  1. Hey, Kenny,Good post.
So what do you think about what he said of it being in America's best interest for there to be a Palestinian state and Jerusalem WOULD be its capital?

  2. It's not possible for a Palestinian State to exist side by side with Israel. There's too much enmity between the two countries. Every time Israel gives up land to the Palestininans, like they gave Gaza away in 2005, Israel still faces rockets being thrown in their territory. Palestine won't be satisified until Israel gives up all it's land.
