Trump, Congressional Committees Wants New Tax Code at Least as "Progressive as Existing Tax Code"

Trump, Congressional Committees Want New Tax Code at Least as Progressive as Existing One

President Trump and House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady

President Trump and the House and Senate Committees responsible for drafting new tax legislation have indicated that they want the reformed tax code to be as least as progressive as the existing tax code.  On September 27, President Trump, the House and Ways Means Committee and the Senate Committee on Finance issued a "United Framework For Fixing Our Broken Tax System" This framework laid out the general principles and provisions that the President and the committees desire to see in the tax reform legislation that they would like to see enacted.

The basic elements of this "tax reform" is to eliminate most itemized deductions, thereby doubling the standard deduction, and to reducing the seven tax brackets to either three or four.  The framework leaves open the possibility of a fourth tax bracket, but they desire for it to be progressive enough.

The best, simplest way to solve this tax problem is to eradicate the progressive income tax structure and institute a flat tax on all Americans, regardless of incomes.  Any type of tax code that is nothing but a "shell game" or promotes class warfare is not the kind of tax system that the American people need.  This is just another way to make sure Congress can still squeeze more money out of the American people's pockets.  Click on the above link to read the full story.
