McCain Has Guarded Optimism After White House Meeting on Syria

President Obama met with his closets Republican allies on Sunday as he's trying to win Congressional support for punitive military action against Syria, as the Pentagon prepares the Nimitz aircraft carrier group for a potential strike.  McCain, who is one of Obama's closest allies on military matters, says that a vote from Congress against military action in Syria would undermine the credibility of the president and the United States, but we still have a long way to go.  He said that with a military strike that the Assad regime must be crippled, and the rebels helped in the process.  He said Bashaar-al-Assad must be outsted and any action that takes place must be to cripple that regime and the rebel forces helped.

I believe that President Obama will have both Graham and McCain's support in the matter of Syria.  McCain is usually in support of military action in the Middle East.  However, there are consequences involved if Assad is ousted.  Who will fill in the vacuum once Assad is ousted?  Would it be an extreme Muslim jihadist group, like we've seen take place in Iran 34 years ago and Egypt within the last couple of years?  It can make the situation in the Middle East that much more unstable if somebody worse fills Assad's spot.  To read the full story, click on the above link from Fox News.
