Justices poised to strike down entire healthcare law - latimes.com
The U.S. Supreme Court
Demonstrators pray outside the U.S. Supreme Court on the third day of oral arguments over the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
According to the Supreme Court's conservative justices, they are prepared to strike down the healthcare law entirely--that means in toto. If the conservative justices, along with Anthony Kennedy who's the swing vote for the court, vote against the healthcare act, they will strike down the entire law. The conservatives say if they strike down the individual mandate that all Americans purchase health insurance, then the whole statute should fall. The court's conservatives appear to have decided that the 2700 page measure must be declared unconstitutional. Conservative Justice Antonin Scalia said that Congress will have to revisit it in toto one way or the other. Justice Anthony Kennedy said it would be an "extreme proposition" to allow the various insurance regulations to stand after the mandate was struck down.
Within the past week it's been very refreshing to hear voices of reason in the Supreme Court regarding the unconstitutionality of the 2010 healthcare law. I would caution conservatives and Tea Party Patriots to not become too overly excited on what appears to be in the making right at this moment. We won't know until the Court decides on the constitutionality of the law in June. Sometimes they can give the indication they'll rule one way and rule the opposite direction. There are many things that can happen. I guarantee you there will be all kinds of pressure placed on the Court to not strike down the entire law, if any. I can see President Obama offering some type of bribe or threat to the Supreme Court to not touch the 2010 healthcare law. You never know. The actions of Congress the past few years has indicated the rule of law means nothing to them. The only time law means anything to them is if it serves their political agenda. Obamacare is the piece of the puzzle needed for President Obama to radically transform this nation into a socialist country. That won't happen without Obamacare. Obamacare gives the federal government the unconstitutional authority to intefere with all areas of our personal lives. This law is unconstitutional. It gives the federal government control over 1/6th of our nation's economy.
I would like to pose another question. Suppose the Supreme Court strikes down the entire healthcare law in June. Will President Obama ignore the ruling and order federal and state agencies to continue with the implementation of Obamacare? It wouldn't surprise me. He will do whatever it takes to impose his socialist agenda upon the American people.
