Democrats Northam, Murphy Win Gubernatorial Elections in Virginia & New Jersey
Democrats rode to victory into two hotly contested races both in New Jersey and Virginia. Democrat Phil Murphy beat Republican Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno in the New Jersey gubernatorial race. Ralph Northam, Virginia's Lieutenant Governor, beat Republican Ed Gillespie in Virginia. The race was a shot in the arm to the beleaguered Democrat party who lost four special congressional elections since Donald Trump was elected to the presidency a year ago. Northam won the support from federal government employees and non-white voters, according to Fox News Voters Analysis. Northam defeated Gillespie by a margin of 54% to 45% in Virginia. In New Jersey it's been the first time in eight years that a Democrat has won the gubernatorial election. Click on the link from FoxNews.com to read the story.
