British Lawmakers Reject Military Action in Syria, a Setback to the Obama Administration

British lawmakers say voted against military intervention in Syria, in a major setback for both the British Prime Minister David Cameron and the Obama administration, in their push to punish the Assad regime for an alleged chemical weapons attacks. The U.K. vote was a preliminary measure but not technically binding. Prime Minister Cameron will look for other ways to round up support. Polls in the United States have shown a similar distaste for military action in Syria. President Obama however, is trying to persuade Congress on the need to respond. House Speaker John Boehner stated that President Obama needs to present a clear 'unambiguous' reason on how a military strike in Syria would serve U.S. interests.
