Administration Delays Key Obamacare Mandate
The Obama administration announced on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 that it is delaying a major provision in the healthcare overhaul, putting off until 2015 a requirement that many employers offer healthcare insurance. That announcement was made late that Tuesday by the Treasury Department, after Congress was in recess. It occurs amid reports that the administration is running into roadblocks as it prepares to implement Obamacare.
That's no surprise to me. I believe part of the reason that the Obamacare administration is delaying the key Obamacare mandate is because next year is the 2014 midterm elections and the administration doesn't want the voters to feel the effects of this law the year we're having important midterm elections.
