Schumer's Possible Shutdown
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) flanked by Senator Minority Whip Richard Durbin (D-IL) and those who support amnesty for DACA recipients
Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA) called out Senate Democrats led by Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and members of the Republican Establishment saying that they support placing the interests of the illegal aliens over the American citizens. Friday evening, Senate Democrats along with a handful of pro-amnesty Republicans such as Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) voted against a spending bill to prevent a government shutdown because it didn't include amnesty for at least 3.5 million illegal aliens and the illegal alien parents. The amnesty plan, by the "Gang of Six" which includes, Jeff Flake, (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) Richard Durbin (D-IL), Cory Gardener (R-CO), Michael Bennett (D-CO), and Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) would give a pathway of U.S. citizenship of at least 3.5 million illegal aliens who are eligible and enrolled in the President Obama created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) , while their parents, who originally brought them to the country illegally, would be allowed to permanently remain in the U.S.
If between now and midnight if nothing changes and there's no budget resolution, then there will be a shutdown and it will be a result of Chuck Schumer and the Democrats. There would have to be 60 votes to keep the government funded.
