Poll: Oprah Beats 48-38 With Likely Voters in 2020 Race
President Trump stated that he liked Oprah Winfrey and stated that he didn't believe she would run for president in 2020, when he spoke with reporters on Tuesday. He expressed confidence that if Oprah were to run in 2020, he would win and that it would be a lot of fun running in a race against her. According to a Rasmussen Reports Survey on Tuesday, 48% of likely voters would choose entertainment mogul Winfrey over President Trump. 38% would choose Trump. An important note, an additional 14% of voters would be undecided between the two. Buzz surrounding a presidential run for Oprah started after her speech on the Golden Globes on Sunday evening. CNN's Brian Stelter says that two of Winfrey's close friends claim she is "actively thinking" about a presidential run. A March 2017 Quinnipiac poll found Oprah with a 52% favorable rating and a 72% favorable rating amongst Democrats. Despite the strong popularity return for the entertainment mogul, 69% of respondents in a March 2017 poll stated she shouldn't run for president.
