Losing incumbent Senator Mary Landrieu
Bill Cassidy, the new U.S. Senator from Louisiana
In a post-election runoff in Louisiana, Democratic incumbent Mary Landrieu loses re-election to Republican challenger Bill Cassidy. Saturday's election was a runoff due to the face that Cassidy didn't win enough votes to win it outright in November. Landrieu was seeking a fourth term this year but lost in the end. Cassidy's win means that the GOP will have a total of 54 seats in the Senate when Congress convenes in January. Click on the link below to read the full story.
