Perry, Romney Trade Barbs at Debate, Hold on to Spotlight

Perry, Romney Trade Barbs at Debate, Hold on to Spotlight

Part 1

CNN Republican Tea Party Debate on Social Security

On Monday night's CNN/Tea Party Republican debate, Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and current Texas Governor Rick Perry were tearing each other apart.  Both candidates were trading barbs on such topics from entitlements to job creation to illegal immigration.  One issue in particular that received a lot of spotlight was the topic of Social Security.  I believe it was last week that Governor Rick Perry made the statement that Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme.  He received some heat for making that statement.  But that's a true statement.  Is Social Security a bad thing?  Not in itself.  However, those who pay into Social Security contribute far more to the system than they ever draw from it.  It's corrupt.  These politicians have been taking the money that's supposed to be earmarked for Social Security and instead they've been spending that money on other programs.  These politicians should be thrown in prison for taking public money that's supposed to be earmarked for Social Security.  Instead they spend it on other government programs.  There's nothing secure about Social Security.  Not when the government controls it.  Nobody in their right mind would invest in an IRA account in the private sector where they spent far more money than they reaped from it.  Social Security is a scam.  The last thing we need is for government to be in charge of our retirement accounts.  Will Rick Perry do anything to reform Social Security if he were elected president?  No, I highly doubt it.  However, it's a good campaign issue for him.

Supporters Of 'Personhood Amendment' Make Case To Mississippi Voters

Supporters Of 'Personhood Amendment' Make Case To Mississippi Voters Fox News

sonogram

On November 8th, voters in Mississippi will vote to decide whether or not to amend the Mississippi constitution so that in the words of the proposed amendment, "The term 'person' or 'persons' shall include every human being from the moment of fertilization."  There were a number of  "pro-choice" groups such as the ACLU and Planned Parenthood who sued to keep the initiative off the November ballot.  Thankfully, it didn't work out that way.  There's money that's made off doctors performing abortions.  That's why groups such as Planned Parenthood are opposed to the "Personhood amendment" being on the ballot because they're fearful there could be enough voters who will support the measure.  If the Mississippi voters decide to vote in favor of the "Personhood Amendment", then I believe the state supreme court will eventually try to overturn the decision if the voters agree to this amendment.

I was thinking about this proposed amendment since I started writing this particular post.  The truth of the matter is the issue pertaining to the sanctity of life shouldn't be put on a ballot, ideally speaking.  The reason for that is because life is sacred and that the issue regarding sanctity of life shouldn't be placed upon the ballot.  Common sense should dictate that life is worth preserving at all costs and that no doctor, no government official, or any type of earthly authority have the right to determine what constitutes life.  In today's society there's a great absence of common sense due to our nation drifting away from God's word.  On top of that we have many Americans who are gullible and will believe what they're told on the news without musing upon it.  They have no concept of what truth is today.  God has already spoken from scripture concerning children.  Psalms 127:3 says, "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."  That verse tells me that God places a high value upon children and that there's no room to determine the viability of the unborn child or "fetus" as the world refers to it.  An unborn child shouldn't be called a fetus.  Psalms 51:5 says, "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me."  Even though all children are conceived in sin, they are automatically a human being once conception takes place.  As a result of what scripture says about children, no earthly authority has the right to determine whether or not an unborn child in the womb is a human being.

As a result of the philosophy of secular humanism, there have been elitist groups that have tried to change the definition of when is an unborn baby a human being.  They have no regard for the Word of God and the fact that God places a high value upon the sanctity of life.  With the secularization of the court system, the ruling elites in the judiciary have taken on the role of playing God in court cases revolving around the issue of the life of the unborn.  Abortion is murder.  Abortion should never be relegated to a vote, ideally speaking.   I do encourage voters who are conservative and pro-life to turn out in droves to vote for this amendment.  Voters need to make their voices heard and let the state legislature and the state courts in Mississippi know that a baby is a human being from the moment of conception.  As I said earlier, the sanctity of life should never be put to a vote from an ideal standpoint. Nevertheless, given the fact that the court system has stated that an unborn baby isn't viable in the womb for a period of months prior to birth, conservative voters need to send a message to their state legislatures that a baby is a human being from the moment of conception and nobody has a right to change that.  Anytime there's an issue that revolves around the unborn voters need to stand up and send a message that God gives life and God takes it away.  Man has no right to play God.  God has already spoken on the matter.  I encourage all Mississippi voters to vote for this amendment on November 8.

GOP Candidate Bob Turner Defeats Democratic Candidate David Weprin in New York's House Race

GOP wins in NY House race, seen as Obama rebuke - seattlepi.com

Bob Turner  David Weprin

On Tuesday's special election in the 9th Congressional District in New York, Republican candidate Bob Turner, who is a retired media executive and political novice, defeated Democratic candidate David Weprin to replace former seven-term Democratic Congressman Anthony (D-NY) who resigned in disgrace in June as a result of the sexting scandal.  Republicans scored an upset in a heavily Democratic district which became a referendum on President Obama's economic policies.  The district which spans Queens and Brooklyn, has never sent a Republican to office.  Frustration with the weakened national economy gave Republicans the edge in the special election this past Tuesday.  Turner vowed to bring business practicality to Washington and push back on spending and taxes.  The race would've naturally been an easy win for Democrats in a normal election cycle given the fact they had a 3:1 ration registration advantage in the District.

Turner, a 70-year old Catholic, promised to push back on President Obama's policies if he was elected.  One of the things that probably helped Turner was the backing of former Republican New York mayor Rudy Guiliani.  Weprin was embroiled in disputes such as Israel and Weprin's vote to legalize gay marriage in the Assembly.  Former New York mayor Ed Koch endorsed Bob Turner in July as a way to "send a message" to Obama on his anti-Israeli policies.  Koch is a Jew who supports Israel.  Weprin also had supported a proposed Islamic center and mosque near the World Trade Center site in lower Manhattan.  Click on the above link to read the rest of the story about Tuesday's election results.

Obama Proposes $467 Billion in New Taxes, Close Loopholes

Obama Proposes $467 Billion in New Taxes, Close Loopholes

Here once again President Obama is bringing up the issue on increasing taxes on the wealthy.  President Obama made his proposal yesterday to eliminate $467 billion in eliminating tax breaks for wealthier Americans and corporations, which will trigger a battle with the Republicans.   President Obama's playing this game to hopefully rebound from his low poll numbers to increase his chances of re-election in 2012.  He's hoping to put the Republican lawmakers in a difficult spot: Either back Obama's job proposal or be portrayed as a do-nothing Congress to help improve the nation's unemployment crisis heading into next year's election.  President Obama is offering $467 billion in eliminating tax breaks for the wealthy as a means to pay for the jobs plan.  However, Obama's jobs plan does nothing but grow the government.  If the president wants to implement a jobs plan, he can do so by lowering corporate tax breaks on businesses and eliminating the vast majority of the onerous regulations which make it difficult for businesses to operate and to be competitive financially in the private sector.  That's the only jobs plan that will work.  The government doesn't need to add more government jobs in this economy.  The government needs to leave the private sector, for the most part, alone except for issues revolving around public safety, workplace safety, and monopolies, etc.

Some of President Obama's proposals on increasing taxes are by limiting deductions and exemptions on individuals who earn more than $200,000 per year and on families who earn more than $250,000 per year.  He also proposed eliminating many oil and gas industry tax breaks to raise $40 billion and change corporate jet depreciation rules to bring in another $3 billion.

President Obama and the Democrats in Congress never cease to strir up class warfare.  They constantly tell us how we can't afford to give the wealthy tax breaks in this economy and that the rich need to pay their fair share.  Does President Obama and his Democratic colleagues pay their fair share?  Does Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of GE who has influence in the Obama administration pay his fair share of taxes?  The truth is President Obama has his favorites whom he will exempt from paying more taxes, such as Immelt.  All presidential administrations have their cronies whom they will exempt from paying taxes.  I do agree that loopholes should be closed.  For example, if General Motors has to pay 20% in corporate taxes, General Electric should be made to do likewise.  Favoritism shouldn't be shown in that area.  What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I will repeat a statement I made in my earlier posts last month.  If President Obama and his Democratic colleagues believe that the wealthy need to pay a higher percentage of taxes, then the president and Congress should make the first move.  They should pay 30% more taxes above and beyond what they pay in taxes.  It just makes sense.  Obama preaches the concept of "shared sacrifice".  He and his wealthy colleagues need to follow suit and share in the sacrifice.  The only problem is shared sacrifice doesn't include the elected elite in Washington and their cronies.  It includes those below them that don't pass the smell test when it comes to exemptions.  I predict one way or the other there there will be tax increases, even if it's sneaked in.

Francis Schaeffer: A Christian Manifesto

The late Dr. Francis Schaeffer (1912-84) delivered this particular message at Thomas Road Baptist in Lynchburg, Virginia sometime probably in the early '80's.  I first started reading books authored by Francis Schaeffer at the end of the year 1992.  I first became acquainted with the works of Dr. Francis Schaeffer through a book I read by John W. Whitehead entitled, "The Second American Revolution."  In that book he made mention of Dr. Schaeffer's thoughts on the decline of American and Western culture.  I believe I was reading the index of Whitehead's book and I found one of the documented sources which came from Schaeffer's book, "How Then Should We Live?"  That was the very first book I read by Schaeffer.  Since that time, I've read almost all his books.  His books were very inspirational.  Even though there were a number of points which I didn't agree with him on, I felt he was very prophetic and on target concerning the decline of American culture.

Schaeffer spoke of the humanist forces which removed God from the cornerstone of our society.  He mentioned how government moved to fill in the vacuum as a result of rejecting God.  Government was usurping authority over man in areas in which it had no Biblical right to do so.  Either God will be the supreme authority in our lives or the state will be the supreme authority.  If the state or Caesar becames the supreme authority, then we'll have a totalitarian state.  Schaeffer spoke of how important absolutes are.  It is absolutes which gives meaning to man.  Remove the absolutes which gives life meaning, then truth becomes arbitrary.  Under secular humanism, man is the measure of all things.  Man is at the center of the universe instead of God.  The only hope of mankind is to return to the God of the Bible who gives meaning to life.

Saturday I had the privilege to watch a movie sponsored by the local chapter of the Tea Party and it was entitled, "Agenda: Grinding American Down."  It was a great movie which is a must-see.  That movie lists the humanist influences that have destroyed the Judeo-Christian foundation in American society.  One of the things you learn by watching that movie was that the removal of God in our public schools, the destruction of the nuclear family, and the destruction of capitalism aren't mere accidents.  They were part of the communist playbook.  There's nothing accidental about what we see taking place in American society today.  It was all planned.  I was hoping to download the entire film on this particular blogpost, but there are only excerpts of the movie on YouTube.

Instead, I thought about linking the YouTube clips where Dr. Schaeffer preached "A Christian Manifesto" before the crowd at Thomas Road Baptist Church years ago.  He implores Christian in that message that American must return back to its Christian heritage or America will be destroyed.  He mentions that God is the ultimate authority, not Caesar.  I hope you enjoy watching the YouTube videos.

The Tenth Anniversary of 9/11

Buchanan: 9/11 Wars, March of Folly

             (Pictures of September 11, 2001)

Paul Craig Roberts: After a Decade, Have We Learned Anything? (Part 1)

(Part 2)

Today is the tenth anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001.  It's a day that we as a nation will remember in infamy.  Approximately 3000 people lost their lives on September 11, 2001 as a result of airliners crashing into the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.  911 started out as another normal day.  At the time the attacks took place, not too many people were aware of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network or Osama bin Laden.  I do know from reading of accounts in magazines that Condoleezza Rice, then National Security Advisor, was briefed a month before the terrorist attacks that Osama bin Laden wanted to hijack airplanes.  There were other reports that a terrorist attack was possible, according to Richard Clarke, but officials in the Bush administration failed to heed the warnings.  It was a tragedy which could've been prevented, as far as I'm concerned.  However, I believe the powers-that-be or the forces of Nimrod had different plans.

I believe the 911 attacks were used as an excuse to give the government the power to clamp down on the freedoms of the American people.  The Patriot Act was passed a few weeks later following the attacks of 911.  It eased the restriction on governement agencies' ability to search telephone, e-mail communications, medical, financial and other records.  It is a violation of the Fourth Amendment dealing with the issue of unlawful search and seizures.  Some will say that so far nobody has been hurt or nobody's civil rights have been violated.  Maybe not at the moment.  But that doesn't mean it won't happen.  If we ever have a full-fledged dictator assume the office of the presidency, we'll see the executive branch going beyond their constitutional bounds in efforts to successfully prosecute the war on terror.  It will be a dictatorship.  The president has the power to suspend national elections under the Patriot Act if they "feel" it's in the best interest of the United States.   I believe the Patriot Act is setting the stage towards fascism.

Today there will be a number of services in New York, Washington, D.C., and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania in remembrance of what took place on that tragic day ten years ago today.  Even though the federal government refused to act appropriately to prevent 911, I'm thankful for all those heroes on that dreadful day that risked and gave their lives for the cause of freedom.  I'm thankful for those that risked their lives that day that others might live.  Numerous New York firefighters died on September 11 trying to rescue workers trapped in the burning towers.  We saw a group of people in the face of tragedy that set their face towards saving the lives of their fellow Americans.  Even though we saw evil that took place on 911, we also saw the best of people as well.   They're representative of the American spirit that built this nation.  My hats go off towards them.  I also want to thank all those soldiers who fought in both Afghanistan and Iraq for the cause of freedom.  Regardless of what I feel about the government's policy towards prosecuting these wars in the Middle East, I appreciate the bravery of our soldiers in the midst of tumultuous times in the Middle East.  It's because of the soldiers that we as Americans enjoy the freedoms we do today.  I want to extend a hearty "thank you" to all that have fought for freedom to keep America safe.

I linked up an article from Pat Buchanan in Newsmax that I would encourage you to read.  Click on the above link to read the article.  Let's not forget the day and what it represents!

The GOP Presidential Debate at the Ronald Reagan Library

MSNBC sets new bar for GOP debates Reuters

The GOP Debate at the Ronald Reagan Library

The 2012 Republican presidential debate took place on Thursday September 7, 2011 at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California.  The GOP candidates in this debate are Rick Perry, Michelle Bachmann, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Jon Huntsman, and Newt Gingrich.  MSNBC/Politico hosted this debate.

911 Conspiracy Theories

The 11 Most Compelling 9/11 Conspiracy Theories News One

911 Loose Change

911 The Road to Tyranny (Alex Jones)

Ever since the terrorist attacks took place on 911, there have been theories abounding that the federal government has been complicit on the attacks that took place at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 which crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.  There's a website called http://www.911truth.org/.  which seeks to uncover the truth behind the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 committed by Islamists.  There are many pundits in the media who ridicule those who seek to question the media that want to know the truth about what really took place on 911.  They call those that believe there's more to the story than what's been revealed as "Truthers."  They are considered the lunatic fringe.  It's the same with those who believe that President Barack Obama isn't a natural-born citizen and thus isn't eligible to be president.  The media ridicules people such as Joseph Farah of the World Net Daily as "birthers."  That couldn't be further from the truth.  Phillip J. Berg, a lawyer who was once Deputy Attorney General in Philadelphia, filed a lawsuit against the Bush administration in October 2004 entitled, "Rodriguez vs. Bush" which accused the president of the United states along with 155 other parties in complicity of the 911 attacks.

I haven't taken time to study all the different theories concerning 911.  I don't know if I could endorse all the allegations that the 911 for truth movement espouses, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of their allegations are true.  Could the federal government be complicit in the September 11, 2001 attacks?  I don't know but it wouldn't surprise.  I personally don't believe former president George W. Bush was behind the attacks, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some in the CIA or other government agencies that had a hand in the attacks.  As corrupt as the government is, nothing would surprise me.  One thing I do know for certain is there was a briefing in August 2001 that Osama bin Laden wanted to hijack planes.  Former National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice received that briefing and did nothing to act upon it.  There were warning signs that Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda wanted to wage jihad against certain iconic symbols in America.  The federal government was made aware that the 911 hijackers such as Zacarias Moussaoui wanted to fly an airplane but didn't care about taking off or landing an airplane.  He was arrested on August 16, 2001 by the FBI on an immigration charge.

I do believe the attacks were preventable and the federal government refused to heed the warning signs that were obvious that a terrorist attack was imminent.  That's for certain.  I wouldn't be surprised if the government on some level played a hand in the attacks.  It wasn't too long following the attacks that the Patriot Act was passed, which is a violation of the Fourth Amendment.  It gave the government the excuse to clamp down on the constitutional rights of the U.S. citizens.  I have linked up a website called News One which lists the 11 most compelling conspiracy theories of 911.  Regardless of what your belief might be about September 11, it would behoove us to have an open mind when it comes to learning the truth.  It's the truth that sets us free.  If you believe that the government-media complex (A term Michael Savage coined.) has told us the full truth of 911, I believe you have been fulled.  I can't trust the average mainstream media for the truth whether left or right.  The media is nothing but monkey boys to our politicians.  They don't search for the truth.  They're all about propaganda and spin.

I have two YouTube videos which speak of the different theories on why 911 took place.  Take a time to view the videos and click on the above website to read about the different conspiracy theories concerning 911.

Life's a Party in Washington

Biden and Boehner Caught on Camera Chatting About Golf TheBlaze.com

Vice President Joe Biden and House Speaker John Boehner chatting about golf.

On Thursday night when President Obama gave his "jobs speech", there was an open microphone.  You could hear Vice President Joe Biden and House Speaker John Boehner discussing golf.  They both seemed like they were good friends.  Boehner was speaking of his most recent golfing game.  It was a very jovial, light-hearted time for both Boehner and Biden.  "The Blaze" has the story on their exchange with one another.  There's also a video on the website where you hear them both conversing with one another.  You can click on the above link to read the story.

If you wonder why our politicians like Washington so well, it because life's a grand party for them.  They couldn't have it any better.  There are all sorts of fundraisers, cocktail parties, and all sorts of events which our politicians like to participate in.  They're all one cozy family.

We have politicians who are elected for the first time that weren't very wealthy when they were freshmen but they leave Washington a millionaire.  How come?  Many lobbyists donate to their political campaigns and they become wealthy.  When it comes to running for the presidency of the United States, many of the elected elite place their hat into the ring because there's money to be made by running for the presidency.  As the old adage goes, "Follow the money."  They have all types of fringe benefits and perks as a result of being an elected official.  They have world class healthcare and all other types of benefits the average American doesn't possess.  They are part of the ruling elite.  They are the kings and we are their subjects or peasants.

We hear so often in the media about the partisan divide in Washington.  I'm not sure there is as much partisanship as they would like to have us believe.  I believe they are like actors in a movie--they play their role.  One side such as the Democrats play their role, and the other side, the Republicans play their role.  You always have one side that plays the role of the opposition.  However, it's not legitimate.  For the last two years we've been hearing the Republicans decry how terrible Obamacare will be to the country.  The question I must ask is why wasn't there any filibustering in the Senate to stop the passage of Obamacare?  During the old days, the opposition would filibuster, or talk to death a certain bill with the stated purpose of defeating it.  The Republicans never did that when it came to the Affordable Health Care Act or Obamacare.  It's a joke.  I believe our elected elite get along better with one another than we might realize.  It means nothing anymore to classify yourself as a Democrat or Republican.  Political party labels are meaningless.  Our elected elite are nothing but puppets on a string controlled by the forces of Nimrod.  When I was a senior in high school, there was a theater production in our school entitled, "We're All in This Together."  I believe that applies to the elected elite in Washington.  They're all in this together.  They're just playing the role the globalists have carved out for them.

Obama Urges Congress To Pass $450 Billion Jobs Plan 'Right Away'

Obama Urges Congress To Pass $450 Billion Jobs Plan 'Right Away' Fox News

President Obama, with Vice President Joe Biden and House Speaker John Boehner in the background, speaks before both houses of Congress about the jobs bill. (AP Photo)

In one of his most anticipated speeches last night, President Obama implored Congress to urgently pass a larger-than-expected $450 billion plan which would "jolt an economy that has stalled.  He urged lawmakers to slash Social Security taxes for tens of millions of Americans and for almost every business to encourage hiring.  Obama told Congress to stop the political circus and implored lawmakers to "pass this jobs bill."  He made that statement numerous times.  He said lawmakers need to pass "this bill" right away to put Americans back to work.

One of the biggest elements to Obama's plan is to increase and extend a cut in the payroll tax from workers which goes into Social Security.  The tax cut also would apply employers as well.  I know some critics would argue that making a payroll tax cut would mean less revenue going toward social security.  The problem with Social Security isn't the lack of revenue that's paid into the program.  The problem is the fact that Congress takes the money that's supposed to be earmarked for Social Security and use it for other programs.  They repeatedly dip their hands into the Social Security fund, which is a crime as far as I'm concerned.  The president's plan would also spend $25 billion on school infrastructure to modernize at least 35,000 public schools, including money being spent on computer labs and emergency repairs.  Also, some of that money would be used to help prevent layoffs of 280,000 teachers and support the hiring of thousands more.

The "jobs" plan that President Obama urges Congress to pass isn't going to spur the recovery of the private sector.  President Obama and the Democrats' idea of creating jobs is spending taxpayer dollars to create new government jobs.  They want to take the taxpayer's money and redistribute it in other areas.  The economy won't recover unless the private sector industry recovers.  It will take more than providing tax breaks for small businesses, which I'm in favor of.  The problem is with the onerous regulations placed upon businesses which make them financially difficult to operate.  The problem with many business owners is they're concerned about what President Obama's going to do to the economy.  It's not an issue of not having money, it's just they don't know how much money they're going to have to spend on Obamacare and in complying with stifling regulations handed down by the government.   The federal government also has allowed the EPA to impose stifling environmental rules which makes it difficult for businesses to compete.  I'm not insinuating that we should pollute the environment, but we can find ways to keep the environment safe without destroying jobs.

One other thing the federal government can do is to renege on these free trade agreements such as NAFTA and CAFTA which have caused an unfair trading balance between the United States, Mexico, and other countries.  The most important thing our federal government can do is to allow the private sector to have free rein in growing the economy.  I do believe the government has a role in business when it comes to breaking up monopolies or restraining unbridled capitalism.  I believe there's a need for limited regulation in regards to fraud and abuse, for example, but otherwise the government needs to leave the private sector alone.  The old Keynesian model of spending government money to revive the private sector isn't the answer.  The answer is for the free market to control the factors of production and allow the free market system to run the economy. It's not the government's place to run the economy, which is something the Obama administration is trying to do.  The Obama administration is all about destroying capitalism in America and raising socialism in its place.
