Republicans Sweep All Four of Their Special Election Contests
Republican Karen Handel easily defeats Democrat Jon Osoff
In Tuesday's special election in the sixth congressional district of Georgia, Republican Karen Handel easily defeated Democrat Jon Osoff in which turned out to be a huge victory in what was considered a possible referendum on next year's midterm election. She replaced former Congressman Tom Price, who is now Health & Human Services Secretary. She won 59.1% of the vote, compared to 49.1% for Jon Osoff.
In South Carolina, a Republican also won to replace former Congressman Mick Mulvaney, now President Trump's budget director. Ralph Norman won South Carolina in the fifth Congressional District.
