Cheney Emergency as Political Force in Trump's Cabinet
Friday evening I was listening to this first hour of Coast to Coast and I was listening to one of the interviewees that George Nory interviewed and I heard that former vice-president Dick Cheney was a strong political influence in Trump's upcoming administration. So I checked the links today and I found out that's the case. Dick Cheney is playing an important role in influencing the President-elect in his decisions concerning the new administration, esp. when it comes to Trump's choice of Rex Tillerson, the CEO of Exxon Mobil, as Secretary to State. Cheney has known Tillerson for a number of years, considering the fact that Cheney was CEO of Halliburton for five years. I've not been impressed with how he influenced the younger Bush concerning the Iraq War which began in 2003. The Iraq War has been a disaster and it still is in that region with the emergence of ISIS in the last few years. However, I'm concerned about some of the choices that Trump has made concerning his cabinet picks. Of course, the neocons will do everything they can to influence Trump to continue the current foreign policy agenda in the Middle East and even in Russsia.
