Conservative Icon Phyllis Schlafly Dead at 92
Conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly
Longtime conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly had died today at the age of 92. She was a pro-family activist who rose to prominence in the 1970's when she campaigned against the Equal Rights Amendment. She was pro-life and stood for everything that was pro-family. Back in the 1970's when campaigning against the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), she stated that the passage of that amendment could lead to women being subject to the draft in the military. She wasn't that far off. President Reagan said back in the 1980's that her campaign against the ERA was brilliant and called Schafly "an example to all those who would struggle for an America that is prosperous and free."
