Congress Overrides Obama's Veto
Senate Minority Leader Reid (D-NV) speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill
I have some good news to report to you when it comes to anything the government does for the American people. Both Houses of Congress overwhelmingly has overridden President Obama's veto of a bill that would allow families of 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia in court for the fatalities of 9/11. I'm glad to see Congress doing something that' in the best interest of the American people and this bill is one of them. Click on CNSNews.com to read the full story.

Charlotte Police Say 70% of Protesters Had Out Of State ID's
70% Protesters Had Out of State ID's
According to the Charlotte police, approximately 70% of the protesters in Charlotte this past week were from outside the state. They had out of state ID's. That's no surprise. Who's behind this. I say there's a great possibility that liberal billionaire George Soros is behind all the protests that have taken place in the last few years including the one in Ferguson, MO. Infowars.com has some information concerning this. Click on the above link to read.

Fresh 9/11 Revelations Expose New Actors
Fresh 9/11 Revelations Expose New Actors
a picture of the Twin Towers being struck by jet planes
You need to see this video. The House voted in a House vote to allow the U.S. citizens to be allowed to sue Saudi Arabia over 9/11. Of course, it's most likely to be vetoed by President Obama. I believe there's much more to what happened on 9/11 than what we're being told by the government. I believe the government played a role in 9/11. Of course, that's one man's opinion.

Georgetown to Give Slave Descendants Priority for Admission
Georgetown to Give Slave Descendents Priority for Admission
Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
Georgetown University is giving preference to admissions to the descendants of slaves owned by the Maryland Jesuits as part of its effort to atone from the sale of enslaved people, according to University President John DeGioia. DeGioia released the recommendations of the school committee that was created last year to study the school's ties to slavery and to create a public memorial honoring slaves whom Georgetown benefited. In 1838 two priests who served as president of the university orchestrated the sale of 272 men, women, and children for $115,000 or $3.3 million dollars to pay off debts at the school.
If a public university wants to use their own money as a means to give discounts to descendants of slaves for admission at the university, that's their business and their right. I don't believe federal money ought to be used for reparations for slavery. But universities have the right to do what they desire concerning giving tuition discounts to descendants of slaves or whomever. But that's a far cry from these civil rights groups demanding that white American people pay reparations for slavery. That's a different matter altogether.

Conservative Icon Phyllis Schlafly Dies at 92
Conservative Icon Phyllis Schlafly Dead at 92
Conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly
Longtime conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly had died today at the age of 92. She was a pro-family activist who rose to prominence in the 1970's when she campaigned against the Equal Rights Amendment. She was pro-life and stood for everything that was pro-family. Back in the 1970's when campaigning against the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), she stated that the passage of that amendment could lead to women being subject to the draft in the military. She wasn't that far off. President Reagan said back in the 1980's that her campaign against the ERA was brilliant and called Schafly "an example to all those who would struggle for an America that is prosperous and free." FBI Summary Files: Hillary Said She Didn't Recall, Couldn't Recall 41 Times
Hillary Said She Couldn't Recall
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary seems very confused when it came to questioning from the FBI concerning the emails she did or didn't receive or Clinton's personal email. She's in pretty deep trouble. I just hope voters will have enough sense prior to November 8th not to vote for her for president.

Buck Rambo's Passing at 84
Gospel Legend Buck Rambo Dies at 84
Richard Fay "Buck" Rambo
I know this is old news but gospel legend Richard Fay "Buck" died at the age of 84 on February 21, 2016. The reason why I'm posting this is because on this particular blog I've posted several posts on the late gospel singer Dottie Rambo concerning her music. Since Buck Rambo was once married to Dottie, I feel it's appropriate to mention this particular article. I didn't know about Buck's death until today. That just shows I haven't paid careful attention to the news like I should. If I saw this back in February, I would've posted it then.
Buck Rambo was a legend in gospel music. He was married to the late Dottie Rambo from 1950 at the age of 19 until 1994. They both divorced in 1994 due to marital issues that stemmed back from a number of years. Following his divorce from Dottie, he married Mae Rambo around 1995. Rambo came from Dawson Springs, Kentucky. He made a profession of faith at a revival meeting Dottie sang at in his church. From there they started dating and married in 1950. Starting around 1954, he and Dottie started a gospel group called "The Gospel Echoes" and sang with members Judy Russell, Judy Bivins, and Litle Joe Hatfield to name a few. In 1964 when Shirley Bivins married an evangelist, she decided to leave the group. That left a vacancy in the group. They had hired Pat "Jones" Green, but she didn't have the voice to sing the higher parts so Buck and Dottie's daughter Reba joined the group and changed the name to "Singing Rambos" and later "The Rambos". The Rambos sang from 1964 until 1979. Sometime in the 1970's the Rambo's daughter Reba left the group to pursue her own singing career and Buck hired Patty Carpenter to sing with the group until approximately 1980.
Buck and Dottie sang at several concert venues in the 60's and 70's. Then later they focused more of their singing efforts in churches. The Rambos started singing on television approximately 1968 on CBN, TBN, the PTL Club, etc. They ministered and sang in numerous places. Buck was honored numerous times with many Grammy and Dove nomination awards. Buck was also featured on the first Gaither Homeoming video as well.
After he married Mae Rambo, Buck Rambo spent much of his time visiting hospitals and nursing homes. He also spent time painting stills as well. They were a member of a church in Franklin, Tennessee. He is survived by his widow Mae, his daughter and son-in-law Reb Rambo McGuire and Dony McGuire. He is also survived by granddaughters Destiny McGuire, Dionne (Scott) Dismuke, great-grandson Dyson Dismuke, sister Hilda Bullock, brothers Jackie (Shirley) and Donald (Betty)Rambo, sister-in-law Anna Jo Rambo, and brother-in-law James Ausenbaugh.

Martha Did That Which Was Necessary, Mary Did That Which Was Needful
Luke 10:38-42 "Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving and came to him and said, Lord, dost thou not care that hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: And Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."
The account we read concerning Martha and Mary reveals that both Martha and Mary lived in the village of Bethany. Lazarus was their brother. Martha had received Jesus into her home with his journey into Bethany. She was very hospitable. She fixed Jesus a supper in John 11. From all accounts Martha was a very hospitable lady. She was very resourceful. However, with all the responsibilities she had with serving, she was very cumbered about with much serving. So much so she even complained about Mary not helping her and beseeched the Lord to persuade Mary to help her. The Lord replied and told Martha that she was troubled about many things, but that Mary hath chosen the good part, which was to sit at Jesus' feet and worship Him.
To make one thing clear, the Lord wasn't making light of Marta's serving. That was necessary. However, you can't place an undue premium on Mary sitting at Jesus' feet. The scripture gives no indication that Mary was lazy. If Mary was lazy, then I believe the Lord would've addressed the situation. But instead, the Lord was telling Martha that as important as serving is, you can't neglect that needful part.
In our world today, it can be very easy for Christians to be cumbered about with the work of God. God has a work for his people to do which is called the Great Commission in Mark 16:15. What is the definition of cumbered? It means to be weighed down or distracted We can be easily distracted with the work of God to the point that we can "get burned out", as the old saying goes. We can become so wrapped up in the work of God and fail to do that which is needful which is to "sit at Jesus' feet."
This thought came to me the other week. If Martha had chosen the needful part, then maybe she wouldn't be cumbered about with much serving. Maybe she wouldn't have complained about what she thought was Mary's lack of help. I believe if Martha had chosen the good part, then she would've been re-energized. Her purpose for her serving would've been renewed. That's one man's opinion. It's real easy to be so engrossed in the work of God that you can be burned out after doing it day after day, time after time. It never ends. But if we don't neglect our spiritual life concerning sitting at Jesus' feet, then our purpose for everything we do concerning the work of God will be made fresh and anew. When we sit at His feet, it reminds that living life is all about living for Jesus. To die is gain but to live is Christ. Our whole purpose in life revolves around Jesus and when we communion with him, it enables us in our service for Christ. One of the ingredients that's missing in many saved people's life is a lack of worship. But when we implement worship in our lives, our whole purpose changes because we see it's all about Him.
Christians that are truly spiritual have a healthy combination of both service to God and Worship of Him. You can't ignore all the necessary things that have to be done in life. But serving God can seem to be drudgery if the element of worship is missing. Serving God isn't easy and more times than not only a fraction of the membership in most churches are the ones responsible for performing all the work that takes place in the church. Sometimes serving God means you will be taken advantage of. Also, many times you may serve in the church and may not be appreciated for your efforts. That happens time and time again. That's why you can't neglect the needful part in your life. There are numerous Christians that are cumbered about with much serving. And they are lacking in their spiritual devotion to the Lord. That can affect their motives and their purpose in their service to the Lord. But if they choose that needful part, then it will revolutionize their life and their purpose for serving. It will cause then to continue in their service to God. You can be weary in well doing if you're not careful. When you sit at His feet, you plainly see that everything you do in life is about Him. You can't neglect that needful part in your life.

The Biblical Term 'Grace'
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast."
Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.
When I think of the Biblical term 'grace', the thought that automatically crosses my mind is the fact that we have it better than what we deserve. The very fact that we are living and breathing air is better than what we deserve. What is grace? It's God's unmerited favor extended toward fallen man. It's God who grants us the opportunity to hear the gospel so we can turn from sin, repent and believe with our hearts unto righteousness. With grace man is given the opportunity to make the choice whether to choose to serve God or reject him. Joshua 24:15 tells us we're to choose this day who we are to serve. God has given us that choice through grace. Because of grace man doesn't have to live in a fallen state. All men are born sinners but God through his marvelous grace has granted us the opportunity to get saved and serve him or to reject him and remain in a fallen state.
John Newton, who penned the old hymn, "Amazing Grace" knows what it was like to be under the bondage of sin, but one day while he was on ship he called God and the Lord saved Newton by His marvelous grace.
God's grace is amazing because we're so unworthy of God even taking the time to consider us. Why would God send his Son to die for depraved mankind? Man has proven that he's unworthy of God's grace. But that's what's amazing about God's grace. You can't explain it. He extends his love toward us when we're the most unworthy to experience it. But it's not about man's worthiness. The fact is God loved man and he was willing to send His Son to die on Calvary's cross to save wretched mankind. I'm thankful for that.
I was thinking about the passage in John 8 where a woman was caught in the act of adultery by the Pharisees. They wanted to stone her. They were trying to trick Jesus into saying something so they could accuse him. But Jesus wrote in the sand and he looked and made the statement, "He who is without sin cast the first stone." There wasn't a Pharisee who didn't have sin and they left one by one. God extended grace and mercy to the adulterous woman. However, he didn't condone her sin nor grant her license to continue in her sin. He told her that her wins were forgiven and that she was to go and sin no more.
One thing we need to remember is not to associate 'grace' with 'license'. There are people who desire to experience God's grace but they want his grace so they can continue living in sin. That doesn't work that way. God's grace demands that we repent. God's grace is all about repentance. He extends grace to sinful man to give to give him/her the choice to repent of their sins and follow God. God's desire is for us to repent of our sin and turn to God for salvation and live in the newness of life. That's what grace is about. It's not about allowing us to continue in sin. Sin leaves you in bondage. But he's about delivering us from sin and the effects of it.
In closing, not only should we desire God's grace for ourselves, but we should desire to extend grace to others. There aren't many Christians who have experienced God's grace for themselves have that same desire to extend it to others, which is tragic. None of us deserve God's grace in our life. The fact that God's merciful towards us means we should be merciful towards others. None of us deserves God's goodness in their lives. It's all by grace.

Franklin Graham:Obama Promotes Ungodly Sexual Behavior
Franklin Graham: Obama Promotes Ungodly Sexual Behavior
Franklin Graham
Commenting on the upcoming election and the state of the nation, Franklin Graham, son of the renowned Evangelist Billy Graham, stated that America has become increasingly intolerant of its religious foundation that was founded upon the Christian faith from our forefathers. America has increasingly devolved into sin and ungodliness. He stated that President Obama has led the way into promoting ungodly sexual behavior such as gay marriage and the transgender movement which has promoted transgender men in being allowed to use women's restrooms in public.
America has went down a long slippery slope of perversion at a dramatic rate since the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriages since last June. America is vastly becoming a lawless society and it will become total anarchy unless America turns to God, and that begins with the Church. Click on the above link from CNSNews.com to read the story.

He is trying to repel criticism that he isn't doing enough to reach out to the black community. So he's trying to win the black vote. The black community votes primarily for Democrats in America. Republicans always receive a low percentage of the black vote in presidential elections.
