The United States is rapidly becoming a socialist state under the presidency of Barack Obama. Instead of being called the United States of America it would be more appropriate to refer to it as the United Socialist States of America. The republic that we've always known where freedom has abounded and the people made this country great is vastly coming to an end. We've seen our government nationalize more industries in the last few months than ever before. We now have an outright socialist in the White House. However, you can't place all the blame on Obama because the path to socialism wasn't placed there by Obama. It began with his predecessor, George W. Bush. Bush was a fiscal socialist. He placed this country on the road to socialism. Remember the bailout of the mortgage industries in the wake of the mortgage meltdown last September. Bush and his treasury secretary Henry Paulson started that trend and it keeps on rolling still.
There's been efforts to undermine the U.S. Constitution since the turn of the 20th century with the creation of the Federal Reserve System. Congress is supposed to be in charge of our currency. Instead we have a consortium of international bankers that are not accountable to the government or the American people. They set the interest rates, coin our money, and send our money overseas. We have the Supreme Court and the lower courts that use the philosophy of "socialogical law" to create laws as they see fit. They have no regard for the Constitution. They believe that law is always evolving and changing. There's no restraints placed upon our federal courts. They've become a dictatorial tribunal.
We've had the creation of these "czar" posts such as drug czar, regulatory czar, energy czar, war czar, and the list continues. That sounds like Russia. They aren't accountable to Congress or anybody. They serve at the President's whim. They're making policy all the time that's not in the best interest of the American people. Our government is becoming increasingly hostile to conservative talk radio and the government is trying to silence the voices of dissent by trying to pass various forms of the "Fairness Doctrine" to silence talk radio. Communist countries are opposed to free speech. They consider themselves as "gods" and they think they know what's best for the people. They don't want to be challenged on anything.
The government's taking over the banking industry, the insurance industry, the auto industry, and they're trying to overhaul our health care system. The House just passed a cap and trade bill which would tax our energy usage and try to impose strict environnmental controls on us. Obama has told the automakers what kind of MPG (miles per gallon) standards the automobiles should possess. Instead of allowing the board of directors of these corporations to make these decisions, the the government is stepping in to make business decisions. Obama even fired the CEO of General Motors a few months ago.
America is increasingly becoming a communist country. They're trying to make us into a totalitarian state where the government seeks to control every aspect of our lives. The freedoms we once enjoyed as a Christian nation are rapidly vanishing away. It's time to stand up and host more tea parties like they did in Boston, Massachusetts in the 1770's to protest Parliament's use of taxation upon the colonists. We need a SECOND AMERICAN REVOLUTION!

The Three Most Neglected Words in a Marriage Vow
On Friday June 26, 2009, I had the opportunity to take part and be in the wedding of Jessica Duff and Josh Owens in my home church. It was a beautiful wedding. When the wedding ceremony is taking place, the preacher has the bride and groom exchange wedding vows to one another. They are sacred in the eyes of God. However, when many couples say their wedding vows, there are three words that many couples before an altar totally ignore. They are sickness, worse, and poorer. It's not difficult for a couple to stay together when it's in health, better, and richer. But many couples have a difficult time staying together when times are lean. However, it's the lean times which say a lot about a marriage. God grants no right for a divorce because times are tough. With a marriage, you'll experience both good and bad times. Sometimes the bad more than the good.
Matthew 19:4-6 says, "And he answered and said unto them. Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female. And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder." God doesn't leave any room for divorce. A couple is joined together in holy matrimony and it's devastating when the marriage is split apart. It was never God's intention for a couple to divorce. There are some situations when a separation is necessary; but not divorce.
In Ephesians 5:21-33 God compares the husband-wife relationship to His relationship to the church. A husband is to love and treat his wife like Christ treats the church. Jesus gave himself for the church. It's a great mystery. He's there for His people through thick and thin. Jesus said that he will never leave nor forsake us. If that be so, just think what God expects in a marriage relationship. You won't see Jesus forsaking his bride when the bride goes through trials and tribulations. God doesn't desert his children. The Bible says I've never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for bread. God is a faithful God. He's good to His children. Never one time does He abandon them. Now he chastens us for our own good, but he doesn't forsake us.
It's a shame many husbands and wives don't understand that an earthly marriage is compared to the body of Christ. If we want to see what an example of a Godly marriage should be, we should read how Jesus treats the church. If a couple will be faithful to one another when times are lean, God will bless it and their relationship can be very sweet and precious because they hung together.
Today we live in a selfish society where we take the things of God lightly; including the institution of marriage. Even the church does that. It's important that every couple that marries make a determination to allow Christ to be head of their home. Without Jesus, it will be very difficult to make it through the dry and lean times.

The News Media's Undue Coverage of Hollywood Stars
It's been reported this evening that Hollywood actress Farah Fawcett has passed away. Also pop star Michael Jackson passed away this evening as well. Fawcett was best known for playing in "Charlie's Angels" during the 1970's. Michael Jackson was known for singing in the group "The Jackson Five" as well as singing solo in the 1980's. In the next several days news channels such as Fox, CNN, and MSNBC will be conducting detailed coverage of the life of these "superstars". I can remember full well when actress Anna Nicole Smith died in 2007. I had watched FOX and personalities such as Geraldo Rivera, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Greta van Susteran (to name a few) were covering her death for days. The news media treats it like it's the most significant news coverage there is. They will cover the life and death of these two entertainers more than they will cover the nuclear threat of Iran for example.
There is such a thing as the entertainment media whose job is to cover the lives of Hollywood stars. There's also entertainment channels as well which cover nothing but entertainment. It makes no sense for these news channels to be wasting time covering their deaths when the entertainment media can do that. These news channels such as FOX, CNN, and MSNBC should be doing nothing but covering world, political, economic, and everyday news that affects Americans' lives. They shouldn't be conducting extensive coverage on Hollywood. I don't watch FOX to hear all the details about Anna Nicole Smith, Britney Spears, and Paris Hilton to name a few. They should be reserved for the entertainment channels.
These Hollywood stars are the gods of this world that the media and politicians pay attention to. Sad to say many Americans are enthralled with these entertainers. Whenever Congress has a bill or cause to promote, they'll use Hollywood stars such as Michael J. Fox to promote stem cell research, Ashley Judd to protect wild animals, Jane Fonda to promote population control. She talked about that subject several years ago at the United Nations. They've used Roger Moore with his movie "Sicko" to promote nationalized health care, and Sean Penn to protest against the Iraqi war in Iraq.
The reason why this country is in the shape it's in is in part because we've allowed these Hollywood stars to come into our homes and dictate to us our contemporary values. That's where all these fads have come from. This latest fad of body piercing and tattooing have come from Hollywood. The news channels and the regular news networks need to get out of the entertainment business and start covering the news that affects the lives of Americans. However, the news media is aligned with the government and they use entertainers as a diversionary tactic to keep Americans' minds off the important issues of our day. No wonder why the news medias' ratings are suffering.

Maintaining an Environmental Balance
Former Vice President Al Gore cancelled plans to fly to Washington, D.C. Instead, he's been working the phones to encourage members of the House to pass a climate change bill. He was invited to come to D.C. by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but he declined the invitation. Gore, who is a proclaimer of the gospel of global warming, believes we need to make drastic changes when it comes to the environment. You can read about his views on Earth in the Balance.
The issue of global warming has been disputed among many scientists. Gore's argument has been that all the warmer temperature is manmade due to greenhouse gasses being released in the air. However, it's a natural cycle for temperatures to be around 100 degrees during the summer months. It's been that way even before the age of industrialization. I wonder where Gore was this past winter when we had frigid temperatures in many parts of the U.S. I believe Gore is a fraud trying to prop himself up. It's all about creating a socialist government and this global warming hoax is one more excuse to why we need a one-world government. He's making huge money off this global warming venture.
One element that is missing in this society is the concept of balance. The Bible says a false balance is an abomination. As much as I'm opposed to the leftists view on the environment, we shouldn't steer toward the opposite extreme and pollute the planet. I believe we should have reasonable environmental laws that control unnecessary pollutants such as smog, for example. In the early 1970's pollution control laws were established and the automakers designed vehicles which emitted less pollution. We need to use common sense when it comes to conservation not only for our fellow man but to future generations as well. We should "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
There's nothing wrong with chopping down trees for wood and other uses as long as there's a purpose for doing so. We shouldn't be wasteful with it. We should also replenish the trees we chop down as well. The earth needs trees to help the atmosphere. I remember the late Francis Schaeffer wrote a book years ago entitled, Pollution and the Death of Man addressing ecological issues. We should avoid extremes. We shouldn't uphold the pantheistic view that God is in everything, including nature and that man isn't worth more than a blade of grass. I believe man was created by God in a higher classification than the earth and the animals. However, even though God gave man dominion over the earth, we should be good stewards with what God has given us.
We should use our natural resources wisely and think of ways to control unnecessary pollution. I'm not suggesting that we have to come up with energy alternatives that's so expensive it would cripple business. But we need to strike a healthy balance where we can control pollution as well as be business friendly. The left wants to push their agenda on us and as a result would hurt business as well as the consumer. Those of us that are Christians need to show the world we can maintain a proper balance when it comes to environmental issues. We have to be considerate towards our fellow man in this present world as well as future generations.

The Problem with the Southern Baptists
The Southern Baptist Convention has already been meeting this week in Louisville, Kentucky and they are planning to tone down the rhetoric when it comes to political issues and focus more inwardly. They say they want to place more emphasis on evangelism. They don't want to be as divisive politically. Back in the late 1970's and early 80's there was controversy between the supposed "conservatives" and "moderates" within the convention. They were debating over such issues as the inerrancy of scripture. They were debating the question is the Bible the Word of God or does it contain the Word of God?
In the last several years the political hot topics have been abortion, gay rights, the Bible's position on women submitting to their own husbands, prosleytizing Mormons, and boycotting Disney because they supported granting domestic benefits to gay partners. A denomination can become too inundated with politics. However, the church should stand on issues that today are deemed political when those issues violate God's word such as abortion, homosexual rights, or anything dealing with sin. The church should take a stand on those issues because they were Biblical/moral issues long before they became political issues.
The biggest problem with the Southern Baptists today is they have no God in their churches. I heard an evangelist who now lives in Jacksonville, Florida say years ago that two problems with the Southern Baptists are they don't know their history nor their Bible. That is the truth. They don't know what constitutes a Bible-believing church. There's more to a Biblical church than adhering to the cardinal doctrines of scripture. Those are just the tip of the iceberg. A strong Biblical church needs to be a praying church with the power of God in it as well as one that practices holiness. Most Southern Baptists are worldly as a bootlegger. They also need to practice church discipline when their members are practicing sin. A church is useless if church discipline isn't practiced when needed.
Southern Baptist churches today are consumed with church growth techniques trying to build "churches" like Rick Warren's Saddleback Church in California. They're involved in using worldly entertainment to draw crowds such as "Christian" rock music, choreographical dancing, etc. God's nowhere around that mess. We need to go back to the old-time paths. Another thing I believe they need to do is they need to stop the cooperative mission giving program and make the individual churches responsible for supporting missions. That's the Bible way. I would rather individually give to a missionary that I know is preaching God's word in a foreign country than give to a mission board which distributes money to missionaries I know nothing about. The cooperative mission board is just another tradition of the church that has no place in scripture.
I believe we need to quote that scripture in Psalms 85:6 which says "Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee." We need revival in our churches. Today's Southern Baptists need to study their heritage and the scriptures once again.

Dottie Rambo--The Prolific Songwriter of the Twentieth Century
Dottie Rambo was a legend when it came to songwriting. When she died on May 11, 2008, she had compiled at least 2500 songs--maybe even more. Dottie Rambo was known for singing in the group called "The Singing Rambos" which consisted of her, Buck Rambo, and their daughter Reba. She's received numerous awards over the years in regards to her musical career. She's been dubbed as the queen of Gospel music. She was very prolific in her songwriting and she wrote the most Gospel songs in the twentieth century. She was second to Fanny Crosby, who compiled over 8000 songs in the nineteenth century. Many of today's hymnals and songbooks contain many of the songs Rabmo's compiled over the years.
She was born as Joyce Reba "Dottie" Luttrell on March 2, 1934 in Madisonville, Kentucky. She lived her young childhood years in Morganfield, Kentucky where her father used to work at a POW camp. She discovered her musical talent when she was eight years old and wrote her first song then. She told her mother and she said, "You'll pay a dear price for this talent," which proved to be evidently true. She learned music and how to play the guitar by listening to the Grand Ole' Opry when she was a young girl. She got saved when she was twelve and her father gave her the ultimatum, "You can sing country and stay; sing Gospel and you must leave". She left home. Her father wasn't saved at the time.
She started her journey singing at churches when she was a young girl and at age 16 after having met Buck Rambo in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, they married. They had their only daughter, Reba in 1952. She received her big break in singing when then Governor Jimmie Davis in the 1960's heard the Happy Goodmans sing one of Dottie's songs, "There's Nothing My God Can't Do". He arranged to have her flown at the Governor's mansion in Louisiana and he offered her $3000 dollars for a singing contract and have her songs published. Her rise in music grew from there. In the fall of 1986, her back went out on her and she had numerous surgeries over the next few years to try to correct the problem. The first surgeon messed up when he didn't fuse her spine together and as a result she experienced excruciating back pain. She didn't go out and sing much during the 1990's. She wasn't back on the road full time until 2002. The years where her mobility was limited she was divorced and her former secretary messed around with her finances.
Dottie Rambo has touched the lives of many people over the years with many of her songs. If you take a look at the Homegoing videos on YouTube you can see how much her songs touched many people's hearts when you view the crowd that was there. I didnt' agree with her in regards to the people she associated herself with, but she had a great talent that she was willing to use and her songs in return blessed many people.
Some of the songs she wrote were "He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need", "Sheltered in the Arms of God", "In the Valley He Restoreth My Soul," "I Go to the Rock," "We Shall Behold Him" and numerous others. She was a woman that will willing to yield herself in using the God-given talents that the Lord gave her. I wish there were some Independent Baptists that have a similar ability she had that would be willing to yield themselves to the Lord to develop their musical talents. I'm thankful that she was willing to use her talent.

The Soon Return of the Lord Jesus Christ
I Thessalonians 5:1-4 says, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief." This passage of the scripture is talking about the Lord's coming back. I Thessalonians 4:13-18 talks about the rapture of the church, which precedes the second coming of our Lord.
It's clearly evident if you pay attention to current events around the world that Jesus is coming very soon. We've seen President Barack Obama try to cozy up to the Middle East preaching peace. Look out! We're facing the possibility of a nuclear showdown with North Korea. She's talking about launching a missile toward Hawaii around July 4-8. President Obama and our Congress are trying to nationalize the banking industry, auto industry, insurance, and our health care industry. They're creating a socialist America that will have its tentacles into every aspect of our lives like they do in these Communist countries. We're vastly approaching the full creation of a one world government, which secular man has dreamed of for ages. I believe the current plan for a new world order began with a secret meeting in Jekyll Island, Georgia, which resulted in the culmination of the Federal Reserve and events have been unraveling since.
I Timothy 3:1-8 talks about what the last days will be like. It speaks of perilous times coming. Men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, heady, high-minded, etc. However, we've had perilous times since the last 2000 years. We've been living in the last days since the days of Jesus living on earth. The Apostle Paul and the other apostles have been looking forward toward the coming of Jesus since their ministry on earth. Since 2000 years have passed, we're definitely closer to His coming than ever before. I believe we're in the last of the last days. Every man of God has looked for the rapture during the time they've lived here.
I was wondering in 1996 what event could signify that Christ's coming is drawing nigh and closer than ever before. We've had evil days during the early church. So what event's taking place today that didn't happen during the Apostles days. One event was the rebirth of Israel. That's one huge sign. They were rebirthed in 1948 and now they're 61 years old in modern times. I believe the second event is Daniel 12:3 which says many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased. You can call it the technological explosion or the "technological wave". That's what I refer to it as. With the computer and the internet and all the other technological conveniences, we have the system set in place to usher in the anti-christ. People can now receive the mark of the beast due to scanning systems and things of that nature.
I can't make any predictions other than the time is drawing near. The Bible says no man knows the day nor hour when the Son of man will appear. Men have tried to predict it such as one author who wrote "88 Reasons Jesus will Return in '88". God won't follow those timetables. He said He will come as a thief in the night. It will be a surprise because we aren't watching and waiting. Let's remain busy occupying until He comes.

Nationalized Health Care--Not What it Appears to Be
President Barack Obama has been pushing forward his plans to overhaul the nation's health care system this past week. He was speaking to the American Medical Association earlier this week explaining to them the need to quickly overhaul our nation's health care system. He wants to push nationalized health care through Congress very quickly. He stated he wanted to use the savings from Medicaid and Medicare over the next ten years to pay for national health care.
Congressional Budget Office director Douglas Elmendorf stated that the costs for Obama's health care proposal could run up to $1 trillion dollars and still 37 million people could be uninsured. If we pass a nationalized health care program as in other countries such as Sweden, Cuba, and Canada for example, we will have rationing of health care as well as long lines of patients waiting to receive medical treatment. It's true that Medicare and Medicaid are an inefficient bureaucracy, but making the government responsible for insuring the nation's health care coverage will be very bloated, costly and inefficient.
What needs to be done to Medicare and Medicaid to reduce costs are to limit medical malpractice awards as well as limit the type of liability lawsuits that can be filed. There's a lot of fraud and waste in our health care system along with many trial lawyers making a fortune of all these liability lawsuits. If we would limit some of these medical malpractice lawsuits, that would reduce health care costs along with eliminating frivolous spending.
If you take a look at the U.S. government's track record of utilizing taxpayer dollars, it's evident they're wasteful with our money. Take a look at Social Security. No sane person would ever invest in an IRA in which you would invest more into it than what you would receive from it. That's the way it is with Social Security. You will not reap the dividends from all that you invest into Social Security. It would be no different with nationalized health care. There would be such massive fraud and abuse with national health care that our country would go totally bankrupt in a very short period of time.
A question that needs to be asked is how are we going to fund all this? With so many Americans being unemployed since the mortgage meltdown last September, there won't be enough taxpayers to fund this program. There's only a minority of rich people and they'll find loopholes to not have to pay taxes on health care. Also, since the signing of free trade agreements such as NAFTA in 1994 and CAFTA in 2005 which has resulted in the exporting of millions of manufacturing jobs overseas, we don't have a sufficient number of decent paying jobs in which there would be sufficient revenue to cover national health care. It's ludicrous!
What will happen is we will have government playing God and making rules to determine who are deemed worthy to receive medical treatment and those who aren't. The view that the medical establishment has held for centuries that all human life is sacred and worth saving and protecting will be thrown out the window if this plan is passed. We have a government that's turning into a fascist dicatorship who hold a humanistic view that life is expendable and isn't sacred in the eyes of God. The government already believes the life of the unborn isn't worth protecting. It's going to eventually be that way with any human being at any stage of life. Man will be of no more value than a blade of grass.

The U.S. Senate's Unanimous Vote to Apologize for Past Racism and Segregation
I was reading in Friday's World Net Daily that the U.S. Senate voted unanimously to apologize for past slavery and racial segregation. Once again we have elected officials wanting to make some stupid political point with past sins. I don't deny that the institution of slavery in the early years of the United States was evil and cruel. I was also opposed to racial segregation as well. However, all that's in the past. I'm sick and tired of seeing all these civil rights opportunists such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton trying to engage in race baiting and saying we're the most racist country in the world. Both Jackson and Sharpton are racist as far as I'm concerned.
There are politicians such as U.S. Representative John Conyers (D-MI) that believe the taxpayers should pay reparations to those blacks whose ancestors were once slaves in America. Let's settle this issue once and for all: Reparations should've been paid to the black slaves following the Civil War. It's too late to be thinking of that now. Also, those of us living today played no part in enslaving blacks over 144 years ago. The U.S. started phasing out racial segregation in the 1950's starting with the Brown vs. Board of Education decision. We're not dealing with racial segregation today. We don't need to apologize for slavery that's been abolished since 1865. Instead of apologizing for past sins, why don't we repent and confess today's sins. Today's sins are what's haunting us--not slavery from 144 years ago.
With the nuclear threat we're facing from North Korea and Iran, the last thing our Congress needs to be doing is wasting time voting on frivolous, insignificant past issues such as slavery. North Korea has been threatening to launch a missile at Hawaii around July 4-8, and here our Senate is voting on a past issue that doesn't even threaten America. Every one of those Senators need to be thrown out in November 2010! Let's stop the foolishness on Capitol Hill.

Father's Day
Sunday June 21, 2009, we'll be observing Father's Day in our country in tribute to all our Fathers. I was clicking on wikipedia and I read that the first observance of Father's Day was in West Virginia in 1908. The momentum to nationalize it and to make it a federal holiday was slow. People thought it would be another useless holiday added to the calendar like "Secretaries' Day" or "Grandparent's Day" for example. President Lyndon Johnson issued a proclamation making it a federal holiday in 1966. It's nonsense to think that Father's Day shouldn't be a national holiday. Both Mother's and Father's Day are equally important. Not only does it take a mother and father to create a child but it also takes a mother and father to raise children. Remove either one from the picture and you have an imbalanced home, even if it's the result of death.
Back in 1992, then-Vice President Dan Quayle in a San Francisco club was criticizing Candace Bergen who played on a comedy called "Murphy Brown" in a speech saying she was belittling the importance of fathers in raising children. He was exactly right. It's part of God's divine plan for a child to have a mother and father and without it, something's lacking in the home. Suppose you took a couple of legs off a chair, it won't stand properly on the floor. That's what it's like to be missing one of the parents in the home.
What's the role of a father? He is to be the husband of the childrens' mother. He is to be the priest in his home. He's the provider and protector, hence that's why he's called a husband. There's so many things you can say about a father. He's a sail on a ship, he's the steady hand in a home, he's the provider, disciplinarian, the laborer at work and at home, he's the parent that dries the tears of his children, he's the one that plays ball with his boys. He's the one that takes his boys to engage in fishing and hunting. He's the one that gathers the family together to go on vacations. He's the one that takes the family to church. He's to be the example in the home. He loves his family and is charitable. He sacrifices for his family. He's willing to give his life for his wife and children. These are some of the characteristics of a father.
I recognize many homes fall short of this. Today many fathers are nothing more than a mere physical presence. However, there's more to fatherhood than just a physical presence. He is to be an emotional and spiritual presence in his children's lives and he is to spend time with them. He should be the hero of his children. That's a great responsibility that shouldn't be taken lightly. I want to take this time to wish each father a Happy Father's Day this Sunday.

The Progression of the Homosexual Agenda in America
President Barack Obama Wednesday extended benefits to same-sex workers of federal employees allowing them to receive long-term care insurance as well as requires supervisors to pay sick leave to those workers whose non-biological children or same-sex partners are sick. It's amazing how far in such a short time the gay rights agenda has advanced in America. There was a time that a homosexual was considered queer and strange. It's only been 40 years since the gay rights movement was said to have begun. Prior to the movement, homosexuals weren't referred to as gays--that term was used for people who were happy.
The gay rights movement is a product of the hippie movement of the 60's. It supposedly had it's beginning in June 1969 when police raided a bar where drag queens hung out. It was known as the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village in New York. Since that time, the movement has gained a foothold in our society. In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality on it's list of mental disorders. Wisconsin was one of the first states to bar "discrimination" against homosexuality. Various states have had battles with the gay rights mafia such as St. Paul, Minnesota, Wichita, Kansas, and Miami, Florida. In 1977 former Miss America and Florida Orange Juice spokeswoman Anita Bryant helped form an organization called "Save Our Children" to battle the homosexual ordinance that was passed by the Dade County Commission which would forbid discriminating against hiring teachers that are homosexuals even in Christian schools. She was a member of a large Baptist church with a Christian school. Thankfully that ordinance was overturned.
The person that put the gay rights agenda out in the forefront was none other than former President Bill Clinton when he campaigned in 1992 for the gays to be allowed to serve in the military. He had to strike a compromise with "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." He had also appointed the first lesbian into the position of Assistant Secretary for the HUD department, Roberta Achtenberg. The momentum for the homosexual community has grown by leaps and bounds due to Clinton's assistance. Since that time homosexuals have been given the right to adopt, workplace and hate crimes legislation have been passed forbidding "criticism" of homosexuals. Gay marriage came into the forefront in 2003 when the Massachusetts Supreme Court struck down a law which forbade not allowing homosexuals to marry. A number of state referendums were passed in 2004 and 2006 which defined marriage between a man and woman. However some state courts such as Iowa struck down that referendum stating it was discriminatory.
We are living in the last days. I think of the chapter in Romans 1 where it talks about those that have been given over to a reprobate mind. We're living in a country that's being given over to a reprobate mind. I never thought I would live to see the day where we'd be disputing on the definition of marriage. When we will profane something as sacred as the institution of marriage, we're living in the bottom dregs of society.

Will a Palestinian State Ensure a Peaceful Coexistence Between Israel and the Palestinians?
On Sunday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time endorsed a Palestinian state beside Israel. He did so under mounting U.S. pressure. For the past two decades he was not supportive of a Palestinian state beside Israel. Also, Netanyahu had condemned peace talks in the past as failures. However, he called for peace negotiations immediately and called for the Arab world to work with him.
He called for a Palestinian state that would be demilitarized (unarmed) as well as Palestine must recognize Israel as a Jewish state. With Palestine recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, that means Palestinian refugees could give up on returning to the land of Israel.
The question that must be asked is could there be peaceful coexistence between Israel and the Palestinians? The answer is a definite no. Since the Biblical days of Isaac and Ishmael, there's never been peaceful coexistence between the two lands. There's too much enmity there. Also, you can't trust the Palestinians to demilitarize. Everytime Israel has been asked to give up land for peace, the Palestinians still fire rockets at them. In 2005, Israel gave up Gaza. The Palestinians still fire back at them.
Another problem that's not in Israel's favor is that Hamas controls the government of Palestine. The Hamas is a terrorist group. As long as Hamas controls the Palestinian government, they'll be warring with Israel all the time. The goal of Hamas is for the complete destruction of Israel. Giving up all the territory they acquired through the Six-day war in 1967 will render Israel weaker and weaker. There's no way both countries could live side by side in peaceful coexistence. The only way a Palestinian state is possible is for the Palestinians to move to another area in the Middle East to chart their own geographical territory. There's never any possibility both countries will live peacefully side by side.
The United States has a president that's sympathetic to the Arab World. That's very troubling. God told Abraham that He will bless those that bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel. It would be in the U.S.'s best interest to support Israel and not push for a Palestinian state. It's not in Israel's best interest as well as it isn't for the U.S.'s best interest.

Putting on the Armour of God
Ephesians 6:11 says "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may stand against the wiles of the Devil. Vss. 12, 13 say, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all to stand." That verse is telling us how monumentally important it is to prepare ourselves for spiritual battle.
In the natural realm, we don't have a problem in putting on the proper gear that's necessary when performing a job, or playing sports. However, when it comes to fighting spiritual forces, we lay our armour down and don't prepare ourselves for battle. We take our ease in Zion.
When a football team hits the field, they don't come out there with no protective gear on. They are well-prepared. They have their helmet, shoulder pad, knee pad, and the list continues. Why? Because they will get hurt if they go out there tackling their opponent and they don't wear something to protect their bodies. We should take that exact same approach in the spiritual realm. If we don't protect ourselves with God's armor, we're going to get hurt and even defeated. We wonder why so many Christians are up and down spiritually. I believe much of it is we don't equip ourselves for this spiritual war.
Any saved person with any spiritual sense recognizes we're in a war. The forces of Satan are fighting us tooth and nail. We're very close to the unveiling of the antichrist and Satan's doing everything he can to distract and destroy God's people. So many of God's people seem to be down in the doldrums and ready to quit. Even preachers. So many Christians' lives are a spiritual roller coaster. I believe much of it is because they don't apply the armour of God to themselves. With all the sensuality, evil, and all the darts the Devil throws at us, we can't afford not to place our protective gear on ourselves.

America During World War II
Saturday June 6, 2009 marked the 65th anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion that stormed the beaches in Normandy, France. There were numerous American casualties in that battle. As I was thinking of that momentous event, I was thinking how different of a society America was during that day in contrast to America today. Everything was geared toward the war effort during the 1940's. President Roosevelt, all our elected officials, as well as the media knew what type of enemy America was facing when we fought against the Japanese and the forces against Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler. Americans knew they had to band together to win that war.
Everything that the America media promoted was for winning the war. I heard radio talk show host Michael Savage say a few years ago if the America media then were like the American media today, we'd all be speaking German. He is correct. We couldn't afford to have a media sympathetic to Adolf Hitler and his cronies. It was that perilous. Americans were encouraged to sacrifice on their part for this war effort. Americans were encouraged to purchase war bonds to help finance the war. There was rationing taking place on all kinds of goods such as rubber and metal for example. We had to use it to build up our war machine. Industries such as General Electric, General Motors, and Ford for example had to convert their industries to a wartime industry. Instead of producing domestic goods that Americans liked to use for themselves, they were making products such as airplanes, guns, etc. to use in our fight for freedom around the world.
We also had a government that believed in winning wars. World War II was actually the last war that we fought that we won. We supplied our troops with the weapons they need to defeat the government. Our government didn't court-martial our soldiers for supposedly murdering a German or Japanese civilian, like we've done in today's Iraq War. Our media didn't question the type of interrogations methods that were used to prosecute war criminals. Also we didn't give war criminals a U.S. attorney to represent them in a war crimes trial. Also, we didn't establish some type of prison camp such as Gitmo in Guatanamo Bay, Cuba and leave them there for several years before we tried them in military tribunals. Following World War II, our government quickly established a tribunal to prosecute the German and Japanese War criminals in the Nuremberg Trials, for example. We didn't allow those types of prosecutions to linger around in one administration and pass it on to another presidential administration.
There were also many war movies made during World War II in support of the war effort. It seemed mainstream America as well as our American institutions had a keen sense of patriotism that's missing in our institutions today. Today with the wars we fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have not had the support we've needed from the media to fight and win those wars. It takes a united war effort on all fronts in America to be successful. Abraham Lincoln made a famous quote that we need to heed today: "United we stand, divided we fall."

Is the Murder of Dr. George Tiller Justifiable?
Last Sunday on May 31, 2009, Dr. George Tiller was murdered at a Lutheran church service in Wichita, Kansas by Scott Roeder. He was a late term abortion doctor who had been performing abortions since the Roe vs. Wade decision came out in 1973. He had an abortion clinic that was bombed in 1985. Many abortion rights groups will view those that are pro-life as extreme right-wing religious zealots.
The question that needs to be asked is was it justifiable for Scott Roeder to murder Dr. Tiller? The answer is no. Even though Dr. Tiller will have the blood of innocent babies on his hands on Judgment Day, you don't right a wrong by commiting a wrong. God says in his word, "Vengeance is mine". There's a proper chain of command involved when it comes to punishing wrongdoing. Even though we have a corrupt government that tries to usurp authority over American's lives, there's still a proper way to handle things. Sadly our government places their stamp of approval on all kinds of abortions--even late-term abortions. What needs to be done in the pro-life community is we need Right-to-Life pregnancy centers that will take in unwed mothers so they can be given another option besides abortion. Counseling unwed, pregnant mothers is another thing that needs to be done. That would have a more positive impact in stemming the tide of abortion than bombing abortion clinics and murdering abortion providers.

Will Obama's Address to the Muslim World help repair U.S.- Muslim relations?
President Barack Obama gave a speech in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday, June 4th. The purpose was to try to repair the relationship between the U.S. and the Muslim world. I don't see how it could be very successful because the Muslim world in the Middle East consider the U.S. to be the "Great Satan". Also those that don't agree with the Muslim world are branded as "infidels".
There are possibly two things that could be of a benefit to the U.S. but the government's not going to do anything about them. First of all, with the rigid dress standards and lifestyle that the Muslim world practices I know it's an offense to the Muslim world with all the so-called values that are being piped out of Hollywood into America. Do you think the Obama administration is going to tell Hollywood to clean up it's act and present programming that wouldn't be offensive to the Muslim world? Of course not.
Another thing that would benefit the U.S. and also protect our national security interests would be for the U.S. to engage in domestic oil drilling and finding energy alternatives so we won't be depedent on foreign oil. This whole thing's a farce because we've had 36 years in which we could've drilled for our own oil and have become independent of Middle Eastern oil. We need to marginalize the Middle East so they can be irrelevant to America's interests. The reason we're still dependent on oil from the Middle East is because the powers-that-be want to send all our dollars to Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia which does nothing but prop up their corrupt regimes.
