Tamyra Mensah-Stock: Proud to Represent America in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Tamyra Menas-Stock: Proud to Represent America
It is really refreshing to see an American athlete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics proud to represent America. Within the past 2 years, we've been seeing athletes at sporting events bend the knee during the playing of the national anthem. On Tuesday, American athlete and world champion wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock received a gold medal in the 68kg freestyle category after her 4-1 victory over Nigeria's Blessing Oborududu.
After her incredible performance in the ring, Mensah-Stock said she was "happy and proud" to represent the United States in the olympics. The 28-year old athlete drew a a heart with her fingers with tears of emotion. She had the American flag draped over her shoulder. She told the reporter that she loved representing the U.S. She stated she loved living in the USA and she was so glad to represent the U.S. in the olympics.
I really enjoyed hearing about Mensah-Stock on the news the other day. It's so great to see an athlete that loves America and is proud to represent the country in which she lives. Does that mean America has no problems and that we shouldn't protest? No. However, there's a time and place for protesting. And that shouldn't be taking place in sporting events such as the olympics. At the olympics, we are there to represent our country. As many flaws as America may have, I don't believe you will find a country greater than America. I believe many of these people who don't like America stay in America because they don't know of another country which is suitable for them to live. We have so much to be thankful for in America. It really is soul-stirring to see a black athlete that loves America and is proud to represent her in the olympics. I'm sure there are many things she probably doesn't agree with in America, but she's thankful to live in America. This is one of the most inspiring stories I've read thus far in this year's summer olympics.

Star Parker: GOP Can't Become a Big Tent for Moral Relativism
GOP Can't Become a Big Tent for Moral Relativism
Star Parker wrote an interesting concerning the GOP and stated that the GOP can't become a big tent for moral relativism. She's exactly right on target. How can you mix oil and water? You can't. Therefore the GOP can't straddle on both sides of the fence and expect to come out on top. The conservative movement needs candidates that are uniquely and distinctly different from the Democratic Party. If the GOP goes along with gay pride, abortion and other social issues that the Democrats support, that will greatly hinder the GOP base. There will be many like voters who typically vote Republican who won't vote because they don't like what they see out of the Republican Party. Voters are tired of seeing Democrat-lite candidates on the Republican ticket, like Mitt Romney in 2012. Moral and social issues are very important. We can't expect God to bless America if we don't stand for Biblical values such as marriage between man and woman, the right to life, America's support of Israel, etc. This is a spiritual battle that's taking place in the political arena. If the GOP doesn't stand for moral/social issues, then they will lose much of its base and rightly so. Click on the above link to read the article.
