Back on June 25, 2009 I wrote a post entitled, "Maintaining an Environmental Balance" stating that we shouldn't worship the planet and I spoke against the leftist claims of man-made global warming. But I also stated that we shouldn't go the opposite extreme and pollute our planet, either. Al Gore, former vice-president, is the propagandist who's been behind this global warming hysteria for years. He's nothing but an actual fraud. Back in the latter part of the last decade, he went traveling around the U.S. and the world and produced a film entitled, "An Inconvenient Truth." That film followed a book he authored in 1992 entitled,
Earth in the Balance. In that book he claimed that mankind is responsible for man-made global warming and he gave his so-called solutions to the environmental crisis. He believe we need to curb the amount of greenhouse gasses we allow to escape into the ozone layer. Many of his claims in his global-warming hysteria are unsubstantiated. We don't even hear the term, "global warming' like we used to. Now we hear the phrase, "climate change." I do agree with the new phraseology. Earth isn't confronting global warming or global cooling, like the claim that was made in the 1970's when it was alleged that our world was facing an era of global cooling. However, our world has always experienced climate change. We face climate change four times a year. They are described as Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. We have warm weather, cold weather, hot weather, and cool weather. Some years the temperatures may reflect to more colder weather or more warmer weather. However, this has nothing to do with global warming. That's just part of the change in seasons each year. Even before we had industrialization in our country, we've always experienced changes in weather. We've always had hot weather and cold weather. That's nothing unusual.
Today is the 44th anniversary of Earth Day, which began on April 22, 1970 and has been continuing on ever since. Former Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson is known for starting this day. Earth Day is supposedly for educational purposes to place attention to our environment and how to improve our protecting our atmosphere. As I've mentioned earlier, I'm totally opposed to all this global warming/climate change hysteria being propagated by Al Gore, President Barack Obama, and Secretary of State John Kerry, to name a few. Their goal has nothing to do with protecting the planet nor making it a safer and cleaner place in which to live. Their goal is socialistic. They make all these false claims about the environment because it gives them the excuse to usurp authority and control every aspect of our daily lives.
However, there are some reasonable things we can do to make our planet cleaner. We don't worship the creature more than the creator, but we have a responsibility to be good stewards of this planet for the Lord. We shouldn't be wasteful with our resources. We use them as we need them. We cut down trees when we need wood. But we don't cut down trees simply for the fun of it. We do everything we do for a purpose. We don't pollute our planet. There are proper ways to dispose of hazardous materials and other types of waste that aren't healthy to leave the open. We can be conservationists. We can take care of our planet without having to cripple America's economy. I can recall the Gulf Coast Oil Spill of 2010 and the millions of gallons of oil that was spilled out in the Gulf of Mexico. I'm not opposed to offshore drilling. However, there are certain safety standards that have to be followed when it comes to drilling for oil on the offshores. There are some things you can can't cut corners on. When it comes to drilling wells, all the safety standards must be followed to prevent unnecessary spills. What BP did when constructing that oil pipeline was absolutely ridiculous. Several crew members were killed and oil continued gushing in the Gulf of Mexico around four months. Think of the ecological mess that oil spill created. That's ridiculous! When it comes the safety of our fellow man and the safety concerning our environment, it's important that we follow certain federal safety standards for the well-being of man. We have a beautiful earth geographically speaking. We must be responsible stewards when it comes to this earth. I'm not a radical environmentalist. I'm a middle-of-the roader when it comes to the environment. As we celebrate this day, let's remember we have a responsibility to our fellow man and to our future posterity. Thanks!
