Results of the Kentucky Primary
In yesterday's primary in the state of Kentucky, five-term incumbent Mitch McConnell defeated Matt Bevin, an early Tea Party favorite hoping to upset McConnell in the primary yesterday, handily defeated him by more than 20 percentage points. After Bevin conceded the race to McConnell last night, he stated the answers that ail our country won't come from the Democratic Party. He told his supporters to unite together in this fall's general election. McConnell will face Kentucky Seceretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes this fall. According to the latest polls in Kentucky, Grimes is in a very competitive race with McConnell. This fall's race won't be easy. If McConnell wins in November and if the GOP pick up six Senate seats, then the GOP will become the majority in the Senate and McConnell could become the Senate Majority Leader, replacing Harry Reid as current Senate Majority Leader.
