Cain Denies Latest Harassment Claim, Says He Doesn't Know Accuser Fox News

Republican Presidential candidate Herman Cain addresses the media Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Cain was responding to Sharon Bialek, a Chicago-area woman, who accused Cain on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, of making an unwanted sexual advance against her in 1997.

Herman Cain addresses the media in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 8, 2011

Herman Cain today in a press conference denies any new claims of sexual harassment.  A fourth accuser, Sharon Bialek came out yesterday claiming he had made unwanted advances toward her fourteen years ago.  Cain claims he didn't even recognize the woman.  Gloria Allred, an attorney, is representing Bialek.  To learn more about this story, click on the above link from FoxNews.com.

I made this statement last week and I repeat it again.  Regardless how true or not true the charges leveled against him are, he is going to drop in the polls.  I predict he won't be the Republican nominee next year.

God's Holy Word

(John 5:39) "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

(Psalms 119:105) "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

The most important book  is God's holy word, the Bible.  It's the number one bestseller.  The most important book in the world is the Holy Bible which is inspired by the Holy Ghost.  I thank God for his holy word preserved in the King James Version 1611.  In it contain the words of life.  It has all the answers to life's problems.  It's very important that we take time on a daily basis to read the Word of God and allow God to speak to us.  I can give you several scriptures concerning the Word of God.  II Timothy 2:15 says we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God.  We are to be a workman that needs not to be ashamed dividing the Word of truth.  Of course we can only do that if we diligently study and follow the scriptures.  You can't use the Bible like it's some type of Ouija board or some type of good luck charm and expect it lead and guide you.  You must be diligent in studying the word.

The Bible is God's love letter to us.  God shows us through his word his love toward us.  He proved it when he sent his son Jesus to die upon a rugged cross for the sins of mankind.  Jesus died so mankind wouldn't have to go to hell when he dies.  What love!  God also warns us about hell and how awful that place is in his word. God went to great lengths warning us to not reject God and go to hell.  God lets us know through his Word how much he desires for all mankind to be saved.  It's his desire that none should perish but that all inherit eternal life.

II Timothy 3:16 says that all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."  The Bible is inspired by God.  God's word is holy.  His word won't return void.  Psalms 119:89 says that his word is settled forever in Heaven.  God honors his word.  He honors his word above his own name.  That's the value God places upon his word.  You can't minimize the importance of it.  The Bible is inspired by God.  It was penned down by the prophets in the Old Testament and the Apostles in the New Testament.   Every jot and title is accurate.  Nothing needs to be changed.  The Bible is used for doctrine.  Anyone who belittles the importance of Bible doctrine is somone you don't need to follow because God makes much of Bible doctrine.  How can you discern between true and false doctrine if you don't know Bible doctrine?  The Bible also is used as a means to rebuke the child of God when he isn't in the spiritual condition he needs to be in.  It's used to reprove and correct.  The Apostle Paul corrected the saints in Corinth in the book of I Corinthians due to sin and false teachings in the church.  Paul was very stern in his rebuke of the Corinthians.  He had to set them straight and show them the error of their ways.  God's preachers have an obligation to rebuke members of their congregtion when they're in error.  If he doesn't, then those members will go astray.  We're all in need of correction from time to time.

The Bible is also used to instruct us in righteousness.  It teaches us how we ought to behave in the House of God and it teaches us how we are to live our lives before the world.  The Bible instructs us in holiness.  It teaches us to deny ungodliness and abstain from the appearance of evil.  It teaches us to be conformed to the image of Christ.

I'm thankful for God's word, his love letter to mankind.  I'm thankful we don't have to walk haphazardly in the dark in this life.  We have a book given to us that the saints didn't have during the era of the New Testament.  I'm glad we have a written copy of God's word.  It's our guide and our compass.  God loves us enough that he wants us to know what his will is for us.  That's why he gave us his Word.  How much do you read his word?  There's nothing greater than to know God's word and to allow his word to live through you.

Dottie Rambo: The Gifted Songwriter of the Twentieth Century (Part 11)

The Rambos in Vietnam

In February 1967, the Singing Rambos, which at that time consisted of Buck, Dottie, Reba Rambo and Pat Jones, traveled on a six week trip to Vietnam.  1967 also happened to be the year the Vietnam War was at its height.  At the time the Rambos had been singing gospel music for a number of years.  They were probably at the peak of their popularity at that time.  Ken Duncan, a friend of theirs who was a gospel music promoter in Southern Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana, contacted the Rambos to take a tour of Vietnam to sing for the military forces.  There was several yards of red tape that had to be cleared, esp. since Reba was 15 years old at the time they made that trip.  The Rambos would go into the combat zones to entertain the front-line troops.  They were cleared by the State Department to make that tour.  The clearance was easy because the year before in 1966 they made a six-week tour of northern outposts in Greenland, of Newfoundland, Labrador, and Iceland.  The State Department received a very pleasing response to that tour.  When Ken Duncan approached the State Department about the Rambos traveling to Vietnam, the State Department's response was positive because they remembered the adventure the Rambos had in Thule and the response was positive.

The Rambos departed from Andrews Air Force Base in 1967.  The flight lasted 22 hours, stopping in Honolulu, Guam, and finally Saigon.  Buck stated it was a jungle down there.  He said it was a terrible place to fight a war.  The foliage was so thick that the military had to cut its way through.  There were no front lines as such, only fighting areas.  The Vietcong was also great at boobytrapping, and many of the young men died in their traps.  According to Buck, it wasn't an easy place to conduct concerts.  Rain fell during the time they were there.  Most of the concerts were done off the back of a truck for a stage.  The men who would come to hear them sing would sit right down in the mud.  Dottie, Reba, and Pat Jones decided to wear the same kind of clothes they sang in back home.  They wore combat boots to the stage, then placed on high heels.  They weren't advertised as gospel singers; they were considered entertainment and were introduced as "The Swinging Rambos."  Those who were in charge of the tour didn't know how the gospel would be received, so the programs would start by Dottie playing "Wildwood Flower" on the guitar.  Then they would sing a song about home, then one about Mama, and then one about Jesus.  At the time the guys would accept anything the Rambos sang or said.

The Rambos sang in the Delta to the Green Berets.  They sang to the Cobra and Lancer helicopter squadrons, who were the unsung heroes of Vietnam.  In the DMZ, the Rambos sang to General Ryan's troops.  They also sang in areas where troops had not seen any live entertainment for thirteen months.  Like the troops, the Rambos slept in tents, ate C-rations packed in 1949 and Dottie lost 15 pounds while in Vietnam.  They visited field hospitals and sang to the wounded.  They prayed for and held the hands of the dying.  They also noticed the youthfulness of America's fighting men in Vietnam, which was a very hard blow to Reba.

After four concerts aboard the Ticonderoga, they flew to the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk.  They sang there to 5000 men just before they launched the biggest air strike of the war against Hanoi.  They were taken to the ready room to pray with the outgoing pilots.  Eight of those men didn't return.  Dottie remarked that the ministry they did in Vietnam was the most wonderful thing in her life.  She enjoyed the opportunity to sing to the troops about Jesus.

The information taken about Vietnam comes from the book entitled, The Legacy of Buck and Dottie Rambo.

Sometimes Things Just Don't Add Up

(John 6:1-13) "After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.  And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.  And Jesus went up in a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.  And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.  When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Phillip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.  Phillip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that everyone of them may take a little.  One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, There is a lad here which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, Make the men sit down.  Now there was much grass in the place.  So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.  And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.  When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.  Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelves baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which had remained over and above unto them that had eaten."

Many times in life we encounter situations where we can't see how it's possible to can meet our daily obligations regardless what they may be.  We have some upcoming bills that need to be paid and there's not finances sufficient to cover the costs.  Or you may have lost your job and you live in an area where the unemployment rate is unusually high.  It doesn't seem possible that you locate a job to provide a living.  You may be experiencing a fatal illness.  Unless God intervenes in a dramatic way, then the time you have left to live is very short.  There may be other problems you're facing and you see no way out.  You're in need for the Lord to perform a miracle in your life.  Without God's divine intervention, your whole world will crumble.  How many times have people experienced those kinds of situations.  That's happened numerous times.  However, God's arm isn't shortened when it comes to supplying our daily needs.  The Bible says in Philippians 4:19 that God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  Psalms 50:10 says he owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  Psalms 37:25 says that I've never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for bread.  The Lord finds ways of supplying our needs even when the figures don't add up mathematically.  We fail to recognize as Christians that God's ways are higher than man's ways.  God's not bound to the laws of nature or the world's system when it comes to meeting our needs.  God knows how to meet our needs even when all signs say it's hopeless.  However, God has the last word.

When you read about Jesus feeding the five thousand, it's obvious that five barley loaves and two small fishes aren't going to feed the crowd that's gathered around Jesus.  With the small amount of food that was available, how could five barley loaves and two small fishes feed a crowd?  Naturally speaking, it wouldn't be possible.  However, Jesus was in control.  He had the men to sit down.  He blessed the bread and gave thanks and it was distributed unto the crowd.  After the crowd finished eating, Jesus instructed his disciples to gather up the fragments of the barley loaves that remain.  When they gathered up all the fragments, there were twelve baskets full which was over and above what the crowd had eaten once they were filled.  How did that happen?  How could that be possible?  There's no way to figure that out scientifically speaking.  There was no logical explanation for it.  When Jesus entered into the equation, that changed everything.  Once Jesus blessed the bread and brake it, there was more than enough bread and fishes to go around the great crowd of people.  There were twelve baskets over and above what had been eaten.  Nobody left hungry.  That was a miracle of God.  There's no way that five barley loaves and two small fishes can feed a crowd of five thousand.  That proves that God's not handicapped when it comes to doing the impossible.

Over the two thousand years since Jesus had ascended into Heaven, there have been numerous scholarly critics that have tried to debunk the miracles of Jesus.  There have been those that have tried to present a scientific explanation to explain the miracles of Jesus and the truths of the Bible.  German Higher Criticism was employed by theological seminaries in the nineteenth century to discredit the Word of God.  Thankfully that can't be done because the Bible is of spiritual discernment.  Also, God's Word stands on its own.  God's ways make no sense to the world.  You can't take a calculator or utilize the scientific method to prove how God makes things happen.  I'm thankful God's not limited when it comes to proving himself.  God doesn't need man's help to do the impossible.  God is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.

The Bible is replete with examples of God performing the miraculous.  The parting of the Red Sea was a miracle of God.  There's no way to scientifically explain how God parted the Red Sea.  We could also go to I Kings 17 where Elijah went to this widow lady who was preparing her last meal for her and her son.  Elijah told her to make it for him.  She did as Elijah instructed and she never ran out of meal.  How did the meal and cruse of oil endure?  I don't know, but when God's in the picture, then there's a way.  There are things you can't explain.  I've heard God's people testify over and over about being in a financial jam and there was no way humanly speaking to pay their bills at the due date.  However, God touched a person's heart to give them the finances they needed to pay their bill on time.  You can't outsmart God.  God works in ways that's beyond man's ability.  I can remember reading in a biography a few years ago about the late great Baptist preacher Percy Ray getting ready to dedicate some Southern Baptist Churches that were recently built.  Dr. Ray never would dedicate to the Lord unless it was debt free.  To my recollection, there were some churches that were in debt that were to be dedicated.  Dr. Ray would pray with a group of men to supply the financial needs to those churches.  If my memory serves me correct, the money came through before the end of the day.  How did that happen?  God made it happen.  It's something that man can't explain.  Dr. Ray trusted God and believed the Lord would supply the need.  God supplied the financial need for those particular churches.  Some things you can't explain.  Some things don't make sense to the carnal mind.

When we read about the miracle of Jesus feeding the 5000, we need to recognize that God's not bound by nature, the laws or man, or logic when it comes to meeting the needs of his people.  God doesn't needs man's wisdom to perform miracles.  God's been a God of the miraculous in the Old and New Testaments.  Even when things don't add up from man's perspective, God always finds a way.  That's how great God is!

Herman Cain's Campaign Presents Conflicting Reports About Sexual Misconduct

Herman Cain's misconduct allegations bring out conflicting accounts - Alexander Burns - POLITICO.com

Herman Cain on CBS's Face the Nation October 30, 2011

Last week Politico reported that there were accusations leveled at Herman Cain.  Two women complained about inappropriate behavior from Herman Cain during his tenure at the National Restaurant Association.  It was reported that the women accepted financial settlements from the association during the 1990's which barred them from discussing the issue further.  The Herman Cain presidential campaign refused to comment on the allegations at first, but then stated the accusations were totally baseless and false.  Politico has now stated that Herman Cain backtracked on a central part of his story concerning the sexual harrassment allegations hurled at him during the 1990's.  He told PBS and Fox News that he recalled details of a financial settlement with one of the women involved.  Cain told the PBS "NewsHour" that he recalled a financial agreement with a woman who accused him of inappropriate behavior at the National Restaurant Association.

Hours before he backtracked, he stated he was "unaware" of any settlement related to sexual harrassment.  He said he was aware of an agreement reached.  What actually happened?  He at first claimed the accusations were totally false and baseless and wasn't aware of any financial settlements made.  Now he acknowledges there was some type of "agreement" or financial "settlement" made.  Cain has done a poor job handling this sexual harrassment fiasco.  What is the deal with making a financial settlement with one of the women at the National Restaurant who accused him of harrassment?  I don't know whether or not he actually harrassed a woman sexually but the way he's handled this controversy isn't helping him.  He's been the GOP frontrunner the last few weeks.  I project his poll numbers will fall as a result of the way he's handling this case.  Some things don't make sense.  Many times when financial settlements are made it's usually done as a means to blackmail or to force the accuser to keep "hush, hush" about it.  I know Politico is a liberal website but regardless what its motives are it leaves questions in my mind about Herman Cain.   It's not the accusations themselves that will hurt Cain--it's how he's handled this case, which is very poorly.  It's leaves to question in the minds of people whether or not there's more to this story than what meets the eye.  To read the full story, click on the above link from Politico.com.

White House Orders Review Of Energy Department Loans In Wake Of Solyndra Scandal

White House Orders Review Of Energy Department Loans In Wake Of Solyndra Scandal Fox News

obama-at-solyndra

The White House is supposedly ordering a review of the Energy Department's loan guarantee program in the wake of the growing scandal over solar company Solyndra, which is a California-based company that went bankrupt after receiving a $528 million federal loan.  Congressional Republicans had been investigating the bankruptcy of Solyndra amid revelations that federal officials were warned it had problems but nonetheless continued to support it.  The House Energy and Commerce Committee could possibly vote as early as this week to subpoena White House records.

According to Wikipidea, the U.S. Department of Energy made a "conditional commitment" to a $535 million loan guarantee to support Solyndra's construction of a commercial-scale manufacturing plant for its proprietary for its solar voltaic panels.  The White House had scheduled a press event for September 4, 2009 and the federal reviewers approved the loan September 2, 2009.  After Solyndra received the loan guarantee, the Federal Financing Bank, a part of the Department of Treasury, loaned solyndra the money on September 4, 2009.  As it turned out, Solyndra wasn't successful with selling solar panels.  One of the problems was market conditions which wasn't favorable to Solyndra along with stiff competition from China whose companies constructed those panels at a lower cost.   Let's move fast forward.  On August 31, 2011, Solyndra announced it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, laying of 1100 workers, and shutting down the facility.  On September 8, 2011 Solyndra was raided by the FBI investigating the company.

It's typical of President Obama to invest stimulus money into a business that doesn't have much of a chance to succeed.  There isn't that much demand for solar panels.  However, the Obama administration wants to force Americans to invest in "green technologies."  It was money thrown down a rathole.  To read the full story, click on the above link at FoxNews.com.

Speaking about democracy, this is what you get after Tunisian Islamists win vote.  Democracy is nothing but mob rule.  Just like Libya, Islamists are taking hold in Tunisia.  The massive protests in Tunisia began when a 26 year old street vendor named Mohamed Bouazizi, set himself on fire on December 17, 2010.  He finally died on January 4, 2011.  He set himself on fire due to the confiscation of his wares and the humiliation inflicted upon him by a municipal official.  This led to mass demonstrations and riots throughout Egypt in protest of social and political issues in the country.  It eventually led longtime president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali to step down on January 14, 2011 after ruling for 23 years.  Street demonstrations have continued unto the present day.  These demonstrations were precipitated by high unemployment, food inflation, and a lack of freedom of speech, etc.  It was the most dramatic waves of protest in three decades.  It resulted in scores of deaths and injuries.  These protests inspired similar protests in other countries throughout the world such as Egypt, which forced the resignation of longtime president Hosni Mubarak, Algeria, Alemen, Jordan, Pakistan, and Libya to name a few.

In spite of the massive protests in Tunisia, it ultimately was no benefit.  The Islamists have won the vote so the country is still in chaos.  To read more of the story, click on the above link from Newsmax.
