Trump Signs Sanctions Bill
President Trump reluctantly and privately signed HR3364 on August 2nd, piling more sanctions on Russia, Iran, and North Korea. Trump made his displeasure known in a series of statements and suggested in a message to Congress that "He may consider getting around lawmakers unconstitutional preferences" as expressed in the sanctions measure. The White House did lobby Congress to ease some restrictions within the bill formerly dubbed, "Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act." While Trump successfully got some changes made, he wasn't happy with the overall final product. He referred to it as a "seriously flawed" bill.
