Obama's Intelligence Chief Says No Evidence of Trump-Russian Collusion
Former President Obama and former Intelligence Chief James Clapper
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who was in that position during the Obama administration, denied any knowledge of wiretapping of then presidential candidate Donald Trump last year during the election. In an assertion receiving considerably less press attention, Clapper also acknowledged that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian. The Democrats have been accusing President Trump of being in collusion with Russia during the Russian hacking of the Democratic National Committee last year. Clapper appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" yesterday, which was a day after that President Trump alleged on Twitter that then-president Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped before the election. Clapper claimed that the intelligence agencies he foresaw as DNI, the CIA, the FBI Intelligence branch and the National Security Agency didn't conduct any wiretapping activity nor was there a FISA court order for wiretapping.
