The Income Tax Turns 100 Years Old
The Income Tax Turns 100 Years Old
For over 100 years now, the federal government has been collecting income taxes from the pockets of Americans. The income tax turned 100 on February 13, 1913. It was a progressive idea that came into fruition during the American Progressive movement. With the revenue that the income tax raised, the size and scope of the federal government has grown beyond imagination. Even today the federal government can't seem to squeeze enough tax dollars out of taxpayers' pockets. Truthfully speaking, the government can't stop their reckless spending ways. President Obama intends on raising taxes to yet another level this year. Some tax rates automatically kicked in when certain provisions of the 2001 & 2003 Bush tax cuts weren't renewed. On top of that new taxes were levied in January of this year to pay for Obamacare, where the key provisions of that program will kick into gear next year.

Kerry: ‘Be Ready to Join Us’ in Fight against Climate Change
Kerry: ‘Be Ready to Join Us’ in Fight against Climate Change | CNS News
Secretary of State John Kerry
Once again Secretary of State John Kerry and the Obama administration are trying to make their case of the importance to fight against climate change. Mr. Kerry, I'm wondering, whatever happened to the phrase "global warming" that Al Gore and his globalist minions have been propagating for years? Gore even produced a film entitled, "Inconvenient Truth." Consequently, we have had some cold winters to in certain parts of our country back a few years ago. Now, they've had to coin a different term called "climate change." Back in the 70's scientists were warning us we were approaching another ice age. They were warning us about "global cooling." Years later it was global warming and now it's climate change. These so-called scientists and political experts can't keep their facts straight.
The "climate change" agenda is nothing more than a means for the government to step in and control the lifestyles of all Americans. I expect to see more "environmental" laws and regulations passed during these next four years in the Obama administration.

Obama: Republicans' Refusal to Raise Taxes on the Wealthy Is What 'Binds Their Party Together' | CNS News
Obama: Republicans' Refusal to Raise Taxes on the Wealthy Is What 'Binds Their Party Together' | CNS News
I wish that were true but House Speaker John Boehner and other Republicans defected following the re-election of President Obama last November prior to the December 31st deadline to renew the 2001 & 2003 Bush tax cuts, which didn't happen. The Republicans should be united on "no more taxes." Why? Because the government spends beyond what is necessary. They do nothing but waste money on senseless projects and foreign aid to other countries, to name a few. It's thievery for the government to demand that U.S. citizens pay another dollar to taxes. The truth is both Congress and the president don't care. The Democratic party primarily wants to squeeze every dime they can out of taxpayers' pockets. Consequently, the GOP is too content to go along with the president and the Democratic party. It's crooked. The GOP does a bum job in handling this issue when it comes to communication and tactics.
The GOP needs to be hammering on the fact that the present tax code in the U.S. is ridicdulous. It penalizes people who have worked diligently to accumulate their wealth. The government punishes the rich and rewards those who don't desire to work. That's called the redistribution of wealth. The GOP should be calling for a flat tax where every American who works a job pays the same percentage rate regardless of income. That makes sense. However, the government isn't about what's sensible. They purposely make the tax code more complicated on purpose. Where is the GOP who believes in constitutional government? Where is the GOP who believes in seriously reducing waste from the budget? Is there somebody in the GOP who has the audacity to call for the abolition of the present tax code? I'm afraid they're nowhere to be found. As far as I'm concerned, we don't have anybody in the GOP we can rely upon to represent the hard-working taxpayers in America.

Having Added Record $5.9T to Debt, Obama Claims He’s Cut Deficit $2.5T
Having Added Record $5.9T to Debt, Obama Claims He’s Cut Deficit $2.5T | CNS News
President Barack Obama and Vice-president Joe Biden
President Obama claimed Tuesday that since he has been president both political parties have worked together to reduce the federal deficit by $2.5 trillion, despite the fact that the national debt has increased $5.9 trillion during Obama's presidency, which is more than it increased from Presidents George Washington through Bill Clinton combined. Federal spending and incredible deficits have increased sharply during Obama's tenure as president. In fiscal year 2008, the year prior to him taking office, the federal government spent $2.9716 trillion. In fiscal year 2012, the federal government spent $3.538 trillion.
Anybody that believes that the president has cut the deficit $2.5 trillion during his four years in office is fooling themselves. I don't believe Obama's claims that he reduced the deficit. He's a professional liar just like all the other politicians in Washington, whether Democrat or Republican. The truth is the federal government can't spend enough. I believe it's part of the one world agenda to spend the United States into an oblivion.

Republicans Would Rather Protect the Wealthy Than First Responders, Obama Says
Republicans Would Rather Protect the Wealthy Than First Responders, Obama Says | CNS News
President Obama once again is playing this class warfare game. He claims his top priority his second term was to do everything they can to grow the economy and create good-paying middle-class jobs. According to Obama, the way that's to be done is to take more tax money from the wealthy Americans, along with the higher tax rates Congress went along with a few months ago. The truth is you don't grow the economy by taxing the wealthy. One must realize when Obama says we need to tax the wealthy higher rates, he's thinking in terms of creating more public sector jobs, which is funded by taxpayer dollars.
Demonizing the rich is plain wicked. We have a den of thieves in Washington, D.C. It's thievery to speak of tax increases when Congress and the President have ran up the deficit to the tune of $16.5 trillion dollars. It's inexcusable. The government is all about punishing the rich and giving money to those who want to live off the government. It's the "evil rich people" who create jobs. Poor people don't create jobs to grow the economy. I do recognize there are some individual wealthy people who are crooked. However, punishing an entire class of rich people is outright immoral. Those who have accumulated their wealthy illegally should be punished individually. Our present tax code is ludicrous. The answer is to abolish the tax code and institute a flat tax upon all Americans who work a job, regardless of income level. The issue of raising taxes isn't about raising more revenue--it's about controlling the lifestyle of Americans.

Price of Gallon of Gas Up 96% Under Obama
Price of Gallon of Gas Up 96% Under Obama | CNS News
According to figures from the Energy Information Agency (EIA), the average price of a gallon of gas has increased 96% since President Obama first took office in January 2009. On January 19, 2009, the day before the president took office, the price of a gallon of gas cost $1.838. On Monday February 11, 2013, the per-gallon price had risen to an average of $3.611, which was an increase of 96%. This is not the highest gas prices have reached under President Obama. The highest gas prices recorded under President Obama was $3.965 per gallon.
I suspect during Obama's second term, gas prices will reach an unprecedented level. That's part of Obama's plan to take down our economy. I fully believe that.

Pelosi: 'False argument' to say Washington has spending problem | Fox News
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi
On Sunday February 10, 2013, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spoke on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace and stated it was a 'false argument' to say the federal government has a spending problem. To hear the House Minority Leader make a statement like that you'd think she's an ignoramus when it comes to the federal budget. The statement she made is nothing but the height of stupidity. The truth is Pelosi's not stupid. I don't think she's dumb at all. The truth is she's part of a sinister agenda to destroy America's foundation. These politicians know better. They don't care. Their agenda is not about the Constitution. They are out to spend us into an oblivion.

IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family
IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family | CNS News
President Obama alongside Kathleen Sebelius (Secretary of Health & Human Services) and then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on March 23, 2010 after the president signed Obamacare into law.
According to the final regulation issued by the IRS, the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family of four will cost $20,000 for that year. Under Obamacare, Americans will purchase health insurance or they will pay a penalty to the IRS. That's just a family of four. Just consider how expensive it will be for the family that purchase the best health insurance plan available. Obamacare will be very expensive and it will have major repurcussions for the economy.

Upcoming Posts on the Christian Worldview
Beginning this week and continuing throughout the year, I'm going to begin a series of posts dealing with the private sector. I'm going to feature posts about businesses in today's economy. We will be studying about the different types of businesses such as sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporations. I want to enlighten many people on what constitutes a business and how it operates. I also intend on educating people about the function of the American economy. There's an apalling level of ignorance on young people today concerning the private sector. Many people aren't aware what fuels the economy. Some people would falsely believe that if a report came out stating that the federal government created 300,000 jobs last month, then they believe that the economy is growing. The truth of the matter is the economy isn't fueled by the federal government. It isn't fueled by taxation. The purpose of taxation is to pay for the necessary operations of the federal government such as defense, national security, etc. The creation of jobs by the federal government doesn't grow the economy. It's the private sector that fuels the economy. It's businessmen and entrepreneurs that fuel the economy. The wealthy who have money to invest in the economy are the people that grow the economy. When jobs are added to the public sector, it's done through taxation. When jobs are created in the private sector, more taxable income goes to the government. If it wasn't through private initiative, then there wouldn't be taxable income going to the federal government.
In a time such as this, there's a definite need to educate young people about the private sector and how it functions. They need to know what the term "capitalism" is and how it differs from "communism" and "socialism" for example. There's much discussion about how the economy contracted in the fourth quarter last year. The economy won't improve until the federal government loosens the stranglehold on the American economy and repeals Obamacare. The scores of regulations that are imposed on American business today made it very difficult for them to function and operate freely. Many businesses are fearful to hire because they don't know how much more they will have to pay in taxes plus there are mountains of regulations that businesses have to comply with. The government's doing nothing but destroying capitalism. I think this will be a very informative series on the private sector.
To tip off this series, I'll be featuring former Apple CEO Steve Jobs on Tuesday. He founded Apple in 1976 and created some wondrous inventions such as the i-pod, and the Mac, for example. I'll be featuring numerous entrepreneurs (both living and dead) from time to time this year.
