Rasmussen: Romney Takes Lead in Ohio, 50-48

Rasmussen: Romney Takes Lead in Ohio, 50-48

According to a Rasmussen poll two days ago, Mitt Romney takes a slim 50% - 48% lead over President Barack Obama in the state of Ohio.  The battle for the electoral vote comes down to a handful of states such as Nevada, Colorado, and Iowa, for example.  Ohio is one of those states.  Ohio is a toss-up state in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral Colleges Projection.  Based on the current projections, Romney would have to win Wisconsin if he loses Ohio in order to move into the White House.

George McGovern Dead: Former Senator And Presidential Candidate Dies At 90

George Mcgovern DeadFormer Democratic Presidential candidate George McGovern in 1972

George McGovern, the former Democratic presidential candidate who lost in a landslide to GOP incumbent Richard Nixon in 1972, died a few days ago.  He was 90 years old.  McGovern was the 1972 Democratic presidential candidate from South Dakota who only won 17 electoral votes in 1972.  He was a longtime Progressive who was the most liberal candidate to ever run for president at the time in the Democratic Party.  He was a staunch opponent of the Vietnam War.  As a candidate he called for tax reform and national health insurance.  He was proud to call himself liberal even though many Democrats tried to shy away from that label.  He was also a longtime U.S. Senator of South Dakota from 1963 to 1981.  He lost the Senate race in 1980 to James Abdnor.  1980 was also the year that Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter for the presidency.

Ross Perot endorses Mitt Romney: We can't afford Obama

Ross Perot endorses Mitt Romney: We can't afford Obama | The Des Moines Register | desmoinesregister.com

An anti-Obama political sign is posted along the main street in Hillsboro, Va., near Leesburg.

Former Independent Presidential candidate Ross Perot has endorsed GOP candidate in this year's presidential election.  He says that we can't endure four more years of Barack Obama.  He's exactly right, even though his third party candidacy in 1992 and 1996 helped ensure Bill Clinton's victory in the presidential election each of those years.  Ross Perot is a businessman who ran as a third-party candidate in 1992 and 1996.  Perot garnered around 18.9% of the popular vote to ensure George H.W. Bush's loss to President Clinton in 1992.

Obama's Passive-Aggressive Second-Term Policy Agenda: ObamaCare, Tax Hikes

Obama's Passive-Aggressive Second-Term Policy Agenda: ObamaCare, Tax Hikes - Investors.com

If you think President Obama's first term has been bad, you haven't seen anything yet if he wins a second term.  Much of the legislation that has been passed during his first term will come to fruition during his second term such as the full implementation of Obamacare in 2014.  Also, if the Bush tax cuts are allowed to expire at the end of this year, then automatic tax increases will take place once the new years begins in 2013.  That will not be good for an already shaky economy.  Consequently, that's the agenda of the Obama administration.  Everything that's taking place is for the purpose to destroy capitalism.

Former Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter Dies at 82

Arlen Specter, former Pa. senator, dies at 82 - Washington Times

 Former Senator Arlen Specter

Former Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter has died at his home in Philadelphia from complications of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.  He was 82.  He died a week ago.  He was a former liberal Republican who turned Democrat in 2009 two months after he and two other Republican Senators voted for Mr. Obama's economic stimulus package.  The veteran Senator from Pennsylvania was first elected as a Republican to the Senate in 1980.  Many consider him as a voice of "moderation" in the Senate, but he was liberal on many issues.  He was very supportive of the U.S. Supreme Court case, Roe vs. Wade.  Even though he was liberal, he did help defend Justice Clarence Thomas when he was before the U.S. Senate in 1991 to replace the retiring justice Thurgood Marshall.  In 2010 Specter ran against former Pennsylvania Congressman Joe Sestak and lost to him in the primary.  If Specter remained Republican, he more than likely would've lost to now Senator Pat Toomey in the GOP primary.

Tomorrow will be the second presidential debate between President Barack Obama and GOP candidate.  This debate will be a town hall style format.  It will be held at Hofstra University.  In prepping up for this debate, President Obama plans to be more aggressive.  Obama is hinting that he will attack Romney on Bain Capital.   Obama doesn't have anything on Romney concerning Bain Capital.  Romney made that a very successful firm.  Bain helped businesses such as Dominoes Pizza, Sports Authority, and Staples, to name a few.

Obama's Ring: There is no God But 'Allah'

Obama’s ring: ‘There is no god but Allah’

Barack Obama's Gold Band (World Net Daily)

You wonder why a certain percentage of Americans believe Barack Obama is a Muslim?  Well, World Net Daily, a conservative news website, is shedding some light on why some Americans believe Barack Obama is a Muslim.  World Net Daily features an article authored by Jerome Corsi mentioning about Barack Obama's ring that he wears.  The website reports that Barack Obama has been wearing this ring at least since the early 80's, when he was a student at Occidental College.  It also says it's the same ring that Michelle Robinson placed on his finger when they wed in 1992.  The ring is adorned with the first part of the Islamic declaration of faith, the Shahada.  "There is no god except Allah."  It's a gold band that he wears on his ring finger.  Sincere recitation of the Shahada is the sole requirement for becoming a Muslim, as it expresses a person's rejection of all other gods."  I think this says a lot about Obama.  I believe he's a closet Muslim giving the pretense that he goes to a Christian church.  The truth of the matter is that Trinity United Church of Christ, which was where Obama attended for 20 years, is no Christian church.  It's a left-wing church that espouses Black Liberation Theology.  Jeremiah Wright, Obama's former pastor, claimed that America was a racist nation when he pastored that church.

Surrounded by Celebrities, Obama Acknowledges Poor Debate Performance

Surrounded by celebrities, Obama acknowledges poor debate performance | WashingtonExaminer.com#.UHLBdk3A9B8#.UHLBdk3A9B8

At a celebrity fundraiser this past Sunday night in Los Angeles, President Obama acknowledges his poor debate performance against GOP candidate Mitt Romney and asked donors for their political support.  The event began with a concert at the Nokia Theater for about 6000 donors.  Some of the donors there were Jon Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, and Katy Perry, to name a few.

President Obama can offer all types of excuses for his poor debate performance last Wednesday.  One of the reasons for his poor performance is that he doesn't have a good record to defend.  Also, without the teleprompter, President Obama isn't a very effective speaker or debator.  President Obama does well at giving stump speeches before large crowds, but when it comes to speaking about issues of substance, President Obama stumbles at it.  President Obama's notion of America isn't the same as the typical American's view of America.  If you want to know how President Obama thinks, then read Saul Alinsky's book entitled, Rules for Radicals

VIDEO: Obama Speech Praises Wright, Attacks Feds on Katrina

VIDEO: Obama speech praises Wright, attacks feds on Katrina | The Daily Caller

Then U.S. Senator Obama speaking in June 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia.

In a video that was obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller, then Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama tells an audience of black ministers in Virginia, (which includes Jeremiah Wright), that the U.S. government shortchanged victims of Hurricane Katrina because of racism.  Obama claimed that the government didn't care much about the black people in New Orleans.  Obama said survivors of the September 11th terrorist attacks and victims of Hurricane Andrew received generous amounts of aid because they weren't black.  He said the government didn't consider the victims of New Orleans "part of the American family."

The racially-charged and angry speech from Obama undermines his claim that he desires to build bridges between ethnic groups.  President Obama is a divider when it comes to race.  What do you expect when you consider the fact that he sat under Jeremiah Wright at Trinity United Church of Christ for 20 years?  His speech doesn't surprise me.  I want to commend the Daily Caller for finding the video that exposes Obama for who he is.  The website also has a video of the speech Obama gave in 2007.  To hear the video and read the headline, click on the above link from The Daily Caller.

Jack Welch has it right.  President Obama wasn't able to debate with Mitt Romney last Wednesday evening so he'll skew the job report numbers to make it appear the employment picture has improved.  The unemployment numbers are still too high.  He uses faulty numbers to justify his poor performance last Wednesday.

Biden acknowledges he, Obama want to raise $1T in taxes on wealthy | Fox News

Biden acknowledges he, Obama want to raise $1T in taxes on wealthy | Fox News

bideniowa.jpg

Vice President Joe Biden speaks in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Thursday.

Vice President Joe Biden acknowledged Thursday that he and President Obama desire to raise $1 trillion in taxes on the wealthy as part of a plan to allow some Bush-era tax cuts to expire.  Biden said that in top of the trillions that they've already cut, they're going to ask the wealthy to pay more.  Mr. Vice President, since you and President Obama are so adamant that the wealthy pay more in taxes, why don't you, the president, and all your Democratic colleagues in Congress that call for tax hikes on the wealthy, why don't you contribute 40% above and beyond what you already pay in taxes yourself.  If you are all so concerned about the deficit and if you're soooooooo concerned the wealthy aren't paying their fair share, then yooooouuuuu, Mr. Vice President need to lead the way.  I'm certain many of your Democratic colleagues have discretionary money they can donate to help pay down the deficit.  Why don't you donate a sizable portion of your income toward alleviating the deficit?  I believe that sounds fair.

Mitt Romney made a good point about taxes during Wednesday's debate with Barack Obama.  He was making a point about taxing small businesses.  He said if you raise taxes on small businesses, then what could transpire is fewer new jobs being created.  The more restrictions and costs that a small business has to incur, the less money it has to create new jobs.  Romney rightly pointed out the issue is jobs.  He's exactly right.  In the private sector, in order for a business to thrive in the marketplace, it needs to keep costs to a minimum as much as possible.  It's true that there are needed costs to operate a business.  But unnecesary costs such as tax increases or regulations that force businesses to spend more money means less money into their account to grow their businesses.  Romney rightly pointed out that taxing the wealthy isn't going to reduce the national debt or grow our way out of the recession.  What's needed is new wealth creation--not redistributing wealth.  That's Obama's plan because Obama is a pure socialist.  That's the truth.

The Kennedy-Nixon Debate of 1960

Kennedy-Nixon Debates

1960 was a very historic year.  1960 saw the introduction of the televised debate between presidential candidates Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy.  Never before have presidential candidates of the major politicial parties hosted a televised debate.  This debate featured Democratic candidate John. F. Kennedy and Republican candidate Richard M. Nixon.  This was the first of four debates between the two candidates.  This particular debate was aired on September 26, 1950.  This debate pre-empted The Andy Griffith Show.  This debate was watched by 65-70 million viewers.  This debate was believed to have erased Richard Nixon's lead over John Kennedy to propel Kennedy to victory to succeed Dwight D. Eisenhower.  The appearance of Kennedy was believed to have given television viewers a favorable impression of him.  Kennedy was tanned, well-rested, vigorous and fit.  Nixon, on the other hand had pasty skin, sported a five o'clock shadow, sweated, and looked somewhat sickly.  He previously had surgery on his knee.  I am posting four YouTube video clips of the Kennedy-Nixon debate.  The above link describes the first debate between the two candidates.  Click on the above link to read the details.

France Unveils Budget Which Taxes the Rich

France unveils tough budget, Spain's Rajoy wins time | Reuters

French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault walks to deliver a speech after the weekly cabinet meeting at the Elysee Palace in Paris, September 28, 2012. Ayrault announced a budget bill for 2013 that commits France to 30 billion euros ($39 billion) of tax hikes and spending cuts with the goal of reducing the public deficit to 3 percent of GDP next year to honour the country's European commitments. REUTERS-Philippe Wojazer

Socialist President Francois Hollande's 2013 budget calls for a 75% tax hike on those earning over a million euros a year.  Business is also taxed as well even though I don't know the rate that will be charged on business.  Hollande is facing record unemployment and economic stagnation.  In the midst of record unemployment, Hollande's answer to remedy the budget situation is the same as President Barack Obama's: tax the rich.  France will slide even deeper into the abyss with tax hikes on business and the rich.  What's tragic is that's what I believe President Obama will do once he's re-elected (which is more than likely).

Allow me to shed some light on the matter.  When you tax the wealthy, they'll pass the higher tax in the form of price increases.  The middle class all the way down to the lowest class feels the effects of higher taxes levied on the rich.  To read the full story, click on the above link from Reuters.com.

We live in a generation where there's a segment of America's population that believe the government owes them something.  Those in that category that are eligible to vote will vote for President Obama because they desire handouts from the government. JFK's motto "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country," has now become "Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what the government can do for you."  That is sad but true.
