Republican voters sadly once again gave longtime Utah Senator Orrin Hatch another primary victory by defeating former State Senator Dan Liljenquist in the GOP primary by nearly a 2 to 1 margin.  The six-term Senator said voters heard his message "loud and clear".  Hatch now faces Democratic challenge Scott Howell.  A Dan Jones & Associates poll conducted for the Deseret News and KSL-TV last week showed the six-term with a healthy lead over Howell, 63-29 percent.  Hatch made the quote that we need seasoned and experienced leadership in the critical Senate Committees to do what the Democratic leadership hasn't been willing or able to accomplish such as a balanced budget, tax reform, and repeal of Obamacare.

Senator Hatch can say what he wants but in the 36 years he's been in the Senate he hasn't done anything to rein in the federal budget in Washington.  The national debt has mushroomed significantly since he's been a Senator starting in 1977.  He's seen the federal budget grow out of proportion with Republicans in charge of the House, Senate, and the White House.  He's even voted to confirm Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Steven Breyer, to name a few.  He doesn't stand for anything.  He's mostly talk.  He's been in office way too long.

The one thing that's obvious is you can't trust those who label themselves as "conservative" or "constitutionalist" when it counts.  It doesn't make any difference who they are or what ideology they claim to espouse, you can't expect them to stand up for the Constitution.  Once again, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to stand for the Constitution.  The Supreme Court yesterday gave the federal government the "okay" to intrude into every aspect of our lives.  The issue at hand was over the individual mandate which gives the government the "right" to tell Americans they must purchase healthcare insurance.  That was the question that the Supreme Court was to answer.  Instead, Chief Justice John Roberts, a George W. Bush appointee in 2005, gave the Obama administration the green light by upholding Obamacare.  He rewarded the dishonesty of the federal government by siding with the liberal wing of the Supreme Court.  The Supreme Court said that the individual mandate is a tax by the federal government.  Therefore, it justifies the federal government's actions in implementing this hideous bill.  Even though the actions of the Supreme Court are disappointing, I'm not surprised.  You can't trust those who claim to be constitutionalists to stand for the American people when it counts.  I don't care if it's the Supreme Court, The GOP-controlled House or the Republicans in the Senate. 

Since the Supreme Court's decision yesterday, we've heard the same political figures on the Republican side state they are going to work towards repeal of Obamacare.  I read where GOP candidate Mitt Romney said that yesterday he was going to push for the repeal of Obamacare.  House Speaker John Boehner stated the ruling of the Supreme Court shows that Obamacare needs to be repealed.  There's been talk of a symbolic House vote to repeal Obamacare in July.  Why?  That's nothing but a dog-and-pony show.  The best that the House can do at this point is to remove funding from the implementation of Obamacare?  Why doesn't Boehner call for the defunding of Obamacare?  That's what I would like to know.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday struck down most of Arizona's immigration law as an unlawful infringement on federal power.  It did uphold the most important part of Arizona's immigration law: It allows police to stop and ask the immigration status of those they suspect are in the country illegally.  Arizona Governor Jan Brewer stated she would move quickly to begin enforcing that part of the law.  In the complex 5-3 ruling, all eight justices said Arizona police can continue to question the legal status of those they stop, but the five-justice majority struck down the parts of the law in which Arizona sought to impose its own criminal penalties for immigration violations.  The majority said that the power is reserved exclusively for the federal government. 

The decision comes a little more than a week after President Obama said last week that he would stop deporting most young adult illegal immigrants.  Coupled with the ruling, it marks a seismic shift in the national immigration debate.  Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, writing for the majority opinion, said states cannot act in an area where the Constitution specifically grants powers to Congress.  (Article I, Section 8, Clause 4)

Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky has been convicted and will face life in prison following his conviction late Friday of sexually assaulting 10 boys over 15 years.  This sex scandal shook the storied football program to the core and caused the school to fire former legendary coach Joe Paterno and former University president Graham Spanier.  Sandusky, 65, was led from the courtroom in handcuffs after being found guilty in 45 of 48 counts.  Sentencing will take place in about three months but mandatory minimums will keep him behind bars for life. 

There were only three acquittals among the charges related to 10 victims.  Eight of them took to the stand to describe forced oral sex, fondling, and anal rape.  Many of the accusers testified they had told nobody of the abuse--not even parents, girlfriends, and not police.

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is quitting politics effective immediately.  He is now set to become president of Purdue University once his term as governor ends in January.  When Daniels' term ends, he will have served as Indiana's 49th governor for eight years.  He was first elected to the governorship in 2004.  Even though he didn't run for president this year, his name has been frequently mentioned as a possible running mate for Mitt Romney.  Since he's slated to become president of Purdue University in January, we can strike his name off the VP list.

House Speaker John Boehner told reporters in Washington today that the Republican-led chamber will move to repeal Obamacare if the U.S. Supreme Court doesn't overturn the law on the books since March 2010.  Boehner didn't say when the House would act but that it would take a step-by-step approach to rewrite the healthcare law to reduce costs and to ensure Americans can make their own choices concerning which doctor they desire to choose.  Boehner nor any of the Republicans didn't offer any specifics.  The Supreme Court is expected to make a ruling on Obamacare by the end of this month.

All this talk by (sob-sob) John Boehner on the House repealing Obamacare is bogus.  He knows very well the House can't repeal Obamacare.  It takes both the House and Senate to vote to repeal Obamacare.  The problem is the Senate is in Democratic hands and you know they won't vote to repeal it.  You know President Obama will veto the bill.  It would take a 2/3's majority by both Houses to override the president's veto.  That won't happen.  That's an impossibility with the 112th Congress.  Instead of talking about "repealing" Obamacare, they should be using the next weapon in their arsenal.  They should be defunding Obamacare.  (Article 1, Sec. 7, Clause 1).  The House can strip funding from any type of funding that's wasteful and unconstitutional.  If Boehner and his Republican cronies in the House wanted to strip funding from this unconstitutional bill, they would've already done so last year.  Instead they put on a dog-and-pony show giving the pretense that they are going to repeal Obamacare.  It's a farce.  The House voted to repeal Obamacare last January soon after they took over the chamber.

Rodney King, the key figure in L.A. Riots in 1992.  He was videotaped beaten by four police officers on March 3, 1991 after he was stopped for speeding.  The videotape of him being beaten by four police officers was replayed over and over again on national television.

Rodney King, the motorist who was videotaped allegedly being beaten by four police officers on March 3, 1991, was found dead Sunday.  King's finance Cynthia Kelly called 911 at 5:25 a.m. to report that she had found him at the bottom of the swimming pool at their home in Rialto, California, police Lt. Dean Hardin said. Officers arrived to find King in the water and was unresponsive.  There were no signs of foul play.  He was transported to Arrowhead Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:11 a.m.

Islamist candidate Mohammad Morsi declared victory yesterday in Egypt's first free presidential election since former president Hosni Mubarak's ouster sixteen months ago.  Morsi represents the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist fundamentalist group which has emerged as the most powerful political faction since the uprising.  If Morsi's victory is confirmed in the official result expected on Thursday, then it would be the first victory of an Islamist as head of state in the stunning wave of so-called pro-democracy uprisings that swept the Middle East the past year. 

I've felt since Hosni Mubarak was outsted from Egypt last year that it would set the stage for the creation of a Muslim Caliphate.  Mohammad Morsi will be the first Islamist to become head of state if his victory is confirmed Thursday.  How will Morsi's victory affect Israel?  Time will tell.

Democrat Ron Barber, a former aide to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, defeated Republican Jesse Kelly, a former Marine who narrowly lost a House race to Giffords in 2010.  Giffords, a three-term Congresswoman, was shot in the head last year during an event in Tucscon on January 8, 2011.  As a result of her injuries, Giffords decided in January it was best that she resign her seat to take time to fully recover from her gunshot injuries.  Barber, 66, was seriously injured in the same rampage that took place on
January 8, 2011.  Six others were killed during that rampage. 

Barber, who is an ultra-liberal, will finish out Giffords' term in the 112th Congress.  Both Democrat Barber and Republican Kelly are promising to run again this fall for a full term.  This could lead to a rematch showdown which is friendlier to the Democrats.  Click on the above link to read the full story.

Rasmussen Reports: Romney Now Leads Obama in Wisconsin

According to Rasmussen Reports, GOP candidate Mitt Romney now leads President Barack Obama for the first time in the campaign.  The president's approval rating in this state has fallen in its lowest level to date.  The lastest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey shows Romney with 47% of the vote to Obama's 44% of the vote.  Five percent prefer some other candidate, whereas four percent are undecided.

Forty seven percent of the voters approve of the job President Obama is doing, where 52% of the voters disapprove of the job Obama is doing.  Those findings also show 27% strongly approving of President Obama's job performance while 44% disapprove.  Romney is approved favorably by 49% of Wisconsin  voters while 45% of voters don't approve of him. 

Just last week Republican Governor Scott Walker won the special recall election which was prompted by Democrats over Walker's attempts last year to limit collective bargaining rights for government employees.  He also asked for public employees to contribute more to their pension and health care to help balance the state budget.  51% of voters in Wisconsin don't view public employee unions favorably whereas 46% of voters approve of public employee unions.  I personally believe Scott Walker's victory in the recall election helped bolster voters' support for Mitt Romney.  If Mitt Romney can win industrialized states such as Wisconsin and Ohio, for example, then Romney's chances for defeating Obama are greater.

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama both were in the battleground state of Ohio on Thursday.  Both gave dueling economic speeches to Ohio voters.  Mitt Romney ripped his opponent's record on jobs growth said the economy is stuck in neutral.  President Obama stated that Romney's prescription for the economy would set the stage for another financial crisis and recession similar to 2008.  Obama said Romney's policies would mirror that of former president George W. Bush.  President Obama was speaking in Cleveland and the former Massachusetts governor was speaking in Cincinnati.  It was the closest thing yet to a general election debate.  Each candidate spoke of how the opponent would be disastrous for the country. 

Romney said Obama was delivering the economic address because he hasn't delivered a recovery for the economy.  Romney ripped Obama on the stimulus of January 2009, Obamacare, and the Dodd-Frank bill to name a few.  Romney said that Obama's policies do nothing but stifle job growth and they are bad for business.  Romney said Dodd-Frank hinders banks' ability to lend.  He also criticized Obama's failed energy policy. 

President Obama accused Romnery of pushing for less regulation and tax breaks for the wealthy which he described as a failed experiment during the Bush administration. He said it would push this country into a deeper recession and make the recovery slower.

An inner circle of Clinton advisors are calling for a dramatic shift in Obama's economic message before the November election, warning of an "impossible headwind in November" if continue on their current path.  Some of the top voices of the 1990's Democrats are saying that Obama's political operation is overly negative and reactive, and failing to offer a positive set of plans for the economy.  Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign pollster, Stan Greenberg and his former campaign manager, Democratic operative James Carville raised alarm today over President Obama's economic message in a memo written with pollster Erica Seifort for Democracy Corps. 

Since 2009 I've projected that there's a good possibility that Barack Obama will win the 2012 presidential election given the lack of quality candidates running for office.  However, President Obama could self-destruct.  I hope that's what happens.  The election could go either way.  The fear I've had is the possibility a third-party candidate in the form of Donald Trump could run and split the conservative vote.  I will say that if the powers-that-be or the forces of Nimrod don't want President Obama to win another term, then I'm sure they'll find a way to make sure that Romney wins if Romney's their candidate.  Even though Obama needs to be defeated this November, we need to be careful and not place too much faith in Romney, either.  Romney's a liberal himself.  Mitt Romney wants to make us voters believe he'll repeal Obamacare if he becomes president.  The truth is Romney passed similar legislation as governor of Massachusetts in 2006.  I can't see Romney repealing Obamacare.  It's just a good campaign slogan.   If Romney wins, he'll continue pushing the globalist agenda.  There's not much difference between him and President Obama except Mitt Romney knows how to successfully run a business whereas Obama doesn't know the first thing about running a business.

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush is calling for a more moderate GOP, which would embrace the ideals that his dad and former president Ronald Reagan supported.  He mentioned how Reagan got much accomplished with bipartisan support that right now would be difficult to imagine.  He stated the GOP doesn't need to focus on strict ideology but look for common ground.  Jeb stated his father and Reagan wouldn't have agreed with today's Republican party due to their moving to the right and their adherence to ideology.  The question that needs to be asked is if the ideology that the GOP embraces in line with the Constitution?  That should be the question.  A politicial party is defined by their core belief system.  What good is the Republican party if they aren't going to stand by the principles that are laid out in the Constitution?  They're worthless.  It should always be about the Constitution.  That's what the Republican party should be about.  If the GOP's ideology is unconstitutional, then it's wrong, regardless the name of their party. 

The problem with today's GOP in Congress is they gave lip service to constitutional principles when campaigning for elections, but they abandon their principles once the election's over with.  What does the GOP stand for?  Nothing.  The GOP claims to be the party of fiscal restraint.  Consequently, the 112th Congress have continued the spending spree.  The GOP House, led by House Speaker John Boehner, have done nothing to rein in spending.  It's a travesty. 

Jeb Bush's remarks shouldn't be any surprise.  Jeb Bush and his family are globalists.  They're about propagating a new world order.  When Jeb's father and brother occupied the Oval Office, both presidents proved that the Constitution wasn't important to them.  They ignored the Constitution as they carried out the orders of the powers-that-be.

Radio host Glenn Beck has signed a new $100 million radio contract with syndicator Premiere Networks, Inc. to contribute the conservative pundit's popular radio program for another five years.  Beck, who has his own two-hour live streaming program on GBTV, has maintained a loyal following on his radio program and a growth rate of 50%, adding nearly 200 stations in the last five years, according to Premiere.  "The Glenn Beck Program" currently airs on 400 stations and is the third-most popular radio program behind Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.  Prior to Beck's live-streaming program which debuted last September, he was host of the Glenn Beck Program on Fox News from January 2009, until the end of June 2011.

I have linked an interesting article from Politico.com about the relationship between President Barack Obama and former president Bill Clinton.  Over a month ago, Ed Klein alluded that the relationship between Barack Obama and Bill Clinton wasn't that great.  Klein stated that Bill encouraged Hillary last November to challenge Barack Obama for the presidency this year.  Hillary refused to do so.  Hillary recently said she wasn't going to run for political office again once she finishes Obama's first term as Secretary of State.  Whether or not she does remains to be seen.  Simon said even that Bill Clinton and Barack Obama aren't close they aren't supposed to be enemies either.  Bill Clinton isn't part of Barack Obama's campaign staff, isn't a trusted adviser, nor does he set the strategy for the president.  However, Clinton does fundraising for Obama's re-election campaign and golfs with him some.

Even though I believe Barack Obama and Bill Clinton aren't the best of friends, Clinton isn't an enemy of Barack Obama. He supports Barack Obama because he and Barack Obama support the same leftist goals of the Democratic party such as nationalized healthcare, open rights for homosexuals in the military, more regulations over the private sector and the list continues.  Both men are supportive of the same socialist goals that Obama's been implementing the last three years.  To read the full story from Roger Simon, click on Politico.com to read the full story.

According to a Fox News Poll yesterday, nearly 60% of American voters desire for the Supreme Court to at least overturn part of the healthcare law passed in March 2010.  The Supreme Court is expected to announce its decision at the end of June.  The poll, which was released yesterday, says that 38% of the voters believe the Supreme Court should toss out the entire law, while another 21% would keep most of the law intact, but would invalidate the requirement that most Americans purchase healthcare insurance.  30% of voters believe the entire law should stand.  When asked directly if the government mandate that voters should be required to purchase health insurance, 60% of the voters said yes, which is identical to the number who believe that the Supreme Court should overturn part of the healthcare law as mentioned earlier.  Nearly 87% of Republicans, 66% of Independents, and 33% of Democrats believe the individual mandate is a violation of individual rights. 

If the Supreme Court uses some common sense logical thinking when it comes to their ruling at the end of the month, then they'll rule against the current healthcare law.  There is nothing about this healthcare law that's constitutional.  It's not the place of the government to mandate that Americans should purchase healthcare insurance.  The bill that was passed was loaded with all kinds of bribes and sweetheart deals to those Democrat Senators who were originally reluctant to pass this bill such as Senators Ben Nelson (D-NE) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) to name a few.  Any bill that contains 2700 pages if full of junk.  There's so much spending contained in this particular bill that it would blow the minds of the average American person if they knew what all it contained.

Was President Obama being too presumptious when he said the economy was doing fine?  Hours after he made the statement that the economy is doing fine Standard & Poors maintained it's long term negative credit rating at AA+ and says its outlook remains negative.  After Standard & Poors affirmed that the United States' credit rating outlook remains negative, President Obama backed away from his previous comment and later said that it's "absolutely clear that the economy is not doing fine."  He also stated there has been some good momentum in the private sector but that Congress needs to act to help boost jobs in the public sector.  The United States economy doesn't need a boost in the public sector.  We don't need more and more public sector jobs created.  The private sector is what needs the boost.  The government in and of itself can't stimulate the U.S. economy.  The way federal, state, and local governments can help the private sector is by staying out of its way for the most part.  The onerous regulations that are slapped on U.S. businesses today make it very difficult for them to be competitive in the marketplace. 

When you hear President Obama making the statement that the private sector in America is doing fine, one wonders if he's out of touch with reality concerning the state of the economy.  According to the average American's point of view, he's very incompetent and out of touch when it comes to understanding the workings of America's capitalist system.  However, if you study Obama closely, you need to consider that maybe his definition of "fine" is totally different versus what we consider would be a healthy economy.  If you recall back in 2008 he told Joe the Plumber that he believed in redistributing the wealth.  He's a believer in socialism.  Everything that President Obama has set out to do is doing nothing but destroying the American economy.  With all the accumulated debt in the last three years plus the passage of Obamacare in 2010, it will bring America's economy down.  That's the agenda of the Obama administration.  Therefore, the economy is on track according to his agenda.  That's what you must understand.

Governor Scott Walker won the vote to keep his position as governor on Tuesday, surviving the recall battle that turned the Republican into a conservative icon and Wisconsin the first battleground in a bitter and expensive election year.  Walker defeated Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D).  Walker is the first governor to survive a recall election in the U.S.  Nearly nine years ago, former California governor Gray Davis was recalled as governor.  His successor Arnold Schwarzenegger won the California recall election in 2003.

Exit polls showed had captured nearly 69% of the voters who made up their minds in the last few days.  However, their votes weren't enough.  The night provided a huge boost to the governor and to Republicans in Washington and in state capitals who have embraced similar views of fiscal conservatism as a solution for recession and debt.  In a state known for it's strong Progressive tradition, Gov. Walker stood tall and stood for what he believed in the midst of a backlash from labor unions and the modern left.  And Walker won the fight. 

This is clearly a victory for Scott Walker and the voters in Wisconsin.  It shows that at least enough of Wisconsin voters understand that during tough economic times there must be concessions made in order to balance the state's budget and hopefully try to bring in new private sector jobs.  It's not right for Wisconsin residents who have worked private sector jobs to make economic concessions concerning their jobs and the public sector employees don't have to do likewise.  I don't relish the thought of anybody--regardless whether it's in the public or private sector to have to make economic concessions.  However, the taxpayers of Wisconsin can't continue to shoulder the burden of public sector employees when unemployment rate has been high in the Badger state in the last few years.

What happened to all the campaign promises that House Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor made in 2010 when they wrote out the "Pledge to America" that they were going to reduce wasteful government spending and big government?    I recall House Speaker Boehner making comments that they were going to do the "people's business" following the GOP's takeover of the House of Representatives following the November 2010 election.  Boehner said one of his first priorities was to cut government itself, such as reduce Congressional staffing, for starters.  I heard all those empty promises being made once again.  It's all a sham.  They'll lie to you when they're campaigning but once the election's over, it's business as usual.  As I've repeated numerous times, they want the issue but they have no intention to solve the problem.  That holds true for the GOP in the 112th Congress regardless whether they classify themselves as establishment Republicans or Tea Party Republicans. 

CNSNews.com has written a disturbing report about this year's House under the control of the GOP.  It states that the national debt is up $1.59 trillion under the GOP House, which means the debt has increased more in less than one term than all of the 97 Congresses combined.  What an indictment.  I believe it too.  What have the Republicans done to dismantle President Obama's socialist agenda in the House?  Nothing.  They haven't defunded Obamacare or reduce the size of the government bureaucracy.  Instead, the government keeps on growing.  The power to control spending originates in the House.  The GOP in the House can strip funding from wasteful and unconstitutional spending.  But they don't.  Why?  The Republicans are content with the growth of governnent.  I believe if they were alarmed over the growth of federal spending, then they would do something about it.  They can.

Mitt Romney has finally secured the GOP nomination as he won 105 delegates in the Texas primary last Tuesday evening.  That gives him more than 2/3's of the delegates up for grabs in the contest.  According to the Associated Press, Romney has 1191 delegates, which is above the needed 1144 delegates needed to clinch the GOP nomination at the party's national convention in August.
