Let the games begin! We have just officially begun March Madness. 65 teams are competing in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. For the next three weeks there will be two rounds each week until the championship game on Monday April 5, 2010. Two teams will play a total of six games. The winner of those two teams will be the national champion. There is speculation that Kansas or Kentucky could win the national championship this year. Last year North Carolina won the 2009 NCAA men's basketball championship. The no. 1 seeds are Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, and Duke. Kansas has the overall no. 1 seed. Each are in different regions across the country. The winner of each of those regions will head to the Final Four at Indianapolis, Indiana. It will be an exciting matchup this year.
The NCAA first round regional games started today. There's already been a few upsets already. No no. 1 seeds lost today. Here's a few of the highlights of today's matchups.
No. 2 Villanova beat no. 15 Robert Morris
No. 14 Ohio beat No. 3 Georgetown
No. 11 San Diego State beat No. 6 Tennessee
No. 1 Kentucky beat No. 16 East Tennessee State
No. 9 Northern Iowa beat No. 8 UNLV
No. 2 Kansas State beat No. 15 North Texas
No. 1 Kansas beat No. 16 Lehigh
No. 11 Washington beat No. 6 Marquette
No. 3 New Mexico beat No. 14 Montana
No. 13 Murray State beat No. 4 Vanderbilt
No. 7 Brigham Young beat No. 10 Florida
These are just a few highlights of this year's NCAA Men's Division I basketball tournament. Kentucky was very impressive against No. 16 Tennessee State. Kentucky put on a clinic last night. Eric Bledsoe made 8 3-pointers and John Wall made 10 assists. Stay updated for the latest results.
