U.S. District Judge John G. HeyburnA federal district judge in Kentucky has struck down Kentucky's gay marriage ban yesterday, though the ruling was temporarily put on hold and it wasn't clear when same-sex couples could be issued marriage licenses. U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn in Louisville said the state's prohibition on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution in which homosexual couples are treated differently than heterosexual couples.
I knew this was coming since U.S. federal judges have been striking down gay marriage bans in other states. Kentucky is the latest state in which a federal judge has overturned the gay marriage ban.
