DeVos Confirmed as Education Secretary; Bill to Abolish Department of Education

DeVos Confirmed as Education Secretary

Rep Thomas Massie (R-KY)

On the day that Betsy DeVos was confirned as Secretary of Education by one vote (due to VP Mike Pence's tiebreaker), Rep. Thomas Massie, (R-KY) introduced a bill to abolish the Department of Education, which was established during the Jimmy Carter administration in 1980.  Massie's legislation, HR899, simply states, "The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2018."  I have a question for Rep. Massie?  Why don't we eliminate the Department of Education at the end of this year?  Why wait until next year.  The quicker we move education out of Washington Bureaucrats' hands, the better.  Also, are you going to fight to see this bill is passed in the House?  This bill is politically unpopular with many of our politicians and you're going to have to fight make sure this bill has a chance to pass in the House.  I will remind you that former President Ronald Reagan wanted to eliminate the Department of Education as well, but had no success in doing so.  If you don't fight for this bill, there won't be any chance of it passing.  The Leftists and many mainstream RINO's will say you don't hold a high value on education.  They'll make you out to be anti-education if you move to eliminate the Department of Education.  It won't be easy.

John Roosevelt Robinson, born in Cairo, Georgia in 1919, was the youngest of five children.  His father was a sharecropper who abandoned the family six months after Jackie's birth.  Jackie's mother, Mallie Roosevelt, moved the family to California.  After Jackie had joined a gang, an older friend stated it didn't take courage to follow the crowd but it took courage and intelligence when it comes to being different,

Jackie was the first person to letter in baseball, basketball, and football, and track at UCLA in school's history.  He later signed to play football for the Los Angeles Bulldogs.  Jackie Robinson's stand for civil rights showed itself when he was in the Army.  In 1942 he and boxer Joe Louis succeeded in opening an officer school for black soldiers during the war.  He served and left the military as second lieutenant.  He was court martialed while in service for not moving to the back of a bus.  He won the court case due to the order's illegality.

Branch Rickey, manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, was determined to bring blacks into the major leagues.  After scouts saw Robinson playing for thIn e Monarchs in the Negro American Baseball League, Rickey recruited him to the Dodger's Minor league team, the Montreal Royals, which planned to bring him into the Dodger's league.  In 1947 in his first year with the Dodgers, he was named Player of the Year.  Though some people were delighted with Robinson's achievements, others issued death threats against him.  He spent ten years with the Dodgers.  He won the National League championship six times He maintained a batting average of .311 and stole home nineteen times.

He played in the World Series six times.  He won the title of Most Valuable Player in 1949 and in 1955 he helped the team win the World Series.   During his years and afterwards, he fought to end racial injustice.  He worked with the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Southern Christian Leadership council to open doors of opportunity for other blacks.  In 1962, in his first year of eligibility, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Trump: The Very Very Dishonest Press Doesn't Want to Report on Threat From Radical Islam

 President Trump

President Trump gave a speech today at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.  Trump stated that "The very, very dishonest press doesn't want to report on threat posed by radical Islamic terrorists determined to strike our homeland.  Trump also vowed he won't allow "radical Islamic terrorism" to take root in our country.  He claimed that radical Islamic terrorists are determined to strike our homeland like they did on 9/11, like they did from Boston to Orlando to San Bernardino and all across Europe.  Trump said we've seen what's happened in Paris and Nice.  He said in many cases the very, very dishonest press doesn't desire to report it.

Trump's speech was from Central Command Headquarters and this is the first time he's spoken to the troops as Commander-in-Chief.  Click on CNSNews.com to read the full story.

Democrats Delay Votes for Donald Trump's Cabinet Picks

Democrats Delay Votes

Image result for democrats delay votes for trump's cabinet posts Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)

Senate Democrats on the Finance Committee have been delaying votes for three of Trump's cabinet picks last Tuesday such as Jeff Sessions for Attorney General, Steve Mnucin for Treasury Secretary, and Tom Price for Health & Human Services Secretary.  Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions was confirmed by the committee but only by a 11-9 vote.  His nomination will go to the full Senate sometime this week, I believe.  Democrats have even boycotted some of the committee hearings on particular Trump nominees.

The Democrats, which primarily consist of Leftists and progressives, have really been showing themselves since Donald Trump was elected president last November.  It's not good.  I've dubbed a nickname for the Democratic Party and that is the Marxist Party.  That label fits them very well because the mainstream Democrats in Washington are Marxist in their thinking.  They've acted very ridiculous when it comes to Trump's cabinet choices.  I know they're going to show themselves when it's time for Neil M. Gorsuch, the Supreme Court nominee chosen by Trump, to be subjected to scrutiny during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings for confirmation.  The Democrats have definitely acted foolish concerning their reaction to Trump's executive order which temporarily bans Muslim travel and Muslim immigration for 120 days in countries such as Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen.  They can't come to America those 120 days.  Schumer and many Democrats have stated that Trump's order was mean-spirited and un-American.  They've even went as far to say it's unconstitutional.

I understand in Congress and the Senate, the Representatives and Senators are members of two different parties: Republican and Democrat.  I understand that there are differences of opinion on various issues in the political process.  A certain amount of diversity concerning opinions can be healthy.  However, we're speaking of issues in which both political parties should be united on.  Trump's executive order should be overwhelmingly supported by both parties, which is common sense.  The president's oath states that he is to protect America from its enemies, both foreign and domestic.  Trump wouldn't be performing his duties if he didn't issue that travel ban.  That would be treasonous.  If the Democrats in Congress don't have enough sense to support issues like that, then they need to resign from office and find a job elsewhere.  That goes for any Republican who is like that as well.  There are some issues which should never be debated because they are wrong by nature.  Abortion, gay rights, gay marriage, illegal immigration, etc. shouldn't be supported by either party.  Our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles over 200+ years ago.  If our elected elite doesn't stand on the platform of God, Country, and the Constitution, then they need to resign from office.  We don't need those kind of people representing our country.  It's asinine.  The opposition that we've been seeing the last few weeks is a spiritual in nature and it's satanic.  That's against everything that's right about America and against what the Bible says.  We don't need unpatriotic politicians in office whether they be Republican or Democrat.

Pence "Confident We're Going to Prevail" on Immigration Restrictions

Pence Confident We're Going to Prevail on Immigration Restrictions

Vice-President Mike Pence stated on NBC's Meet the Press that they're confident they're going to prevail concerning President Trump's temporary suspension of immigration from the six countries that are compromised by terrorism.  The terrorism refugee ban on Syria is indefinite for the time being.  Pence stated that even legal analysts who object to the substance of Trump's executive order falls within his constitutional authority.  The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco refused to stay the ruling as it waits to hear from the Trump administration later today.

President Trump, please stand your ground on this issue.  Don't waver, don't compromise on this issue.  It's for the safety of our country.  I appreciate how you've stood so far on this issue.  The heat will be turned up even hotter as time rolls along.  There's a huge battle out there with people working overtime to destroy America's foundation.  Please stand for what is right.  Many fellow Americans support you in this endeavor.

Federal Judge Issues Ruling Temporarily Halting Trump's Executive Order on Muslim Inmmigratioin

Federal Court Ruling Halts Trump's Executive Order

A federal judge in Seattle issued a ruling Friday which temporarily halts Trump's executive order which temporarily bans Muslims from immigrating to the United States from seven Muslim countries that were added there during the Obama administration.  Those countries are Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Libya.  Judge James Robart of Seattle ruled that Washington State and Minnestoa could challenge the Trump order to freeze the entire refugee program for four months and ban Syrians from entering as refugees indefinitely.   Bob Ferguson, the attorney general for the state of Washington, said that Trump's executive order didn't apply.  It was Ferguson's stated that filed the lawsuit.

According to Ferguson, the travel ban significantly harms residents and mandates discrimination.  I say that's asinine.  It has nothing to do with discrimination.  It's about the national security of our country.   The executive order halts immigration from seven Muslim countries for 120 days.  It's only those countries that are hotbeds of terrorism.   It's not a Muslim ban as the media wants to report.  That's fake news.  The Trump administration was outraged over the plan and Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, stated the Justice Department will file a stay out of this outrageous order.

Hermeneutics

II Timothy 2:15-18 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workmen that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness: and their words will eat as doth a cankerworm, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already and overthrow the faith of some."

In this series of studies we'll be exploring the topic called Hermeneutics.  Hermeneutics is the greek word which is the science of Biblical interpretation.  Through this study you'll learn how to rightly divide the word of truth.  That is absolutely essential if you are going to know how to interpret the Bible when reading and studying it.  There have been many false doctrines and many churches that have been started due to improper interpretation of the Bible.  They didn't rightly divide the Word of truth as II Timothy instructs us to do.  That's why there's so much confusion in regards to the truths of the Word of God.  The AV translates as rightly divide (1) To cut straight, to cut straight ways.  To proceed on straight paths, hold a straight course, equiv. to doing right.  2) To make straight and smooth, to handle aright, to teach the truth directly and correctly.  Destruction will come if it's done in error (2 Peter 3:15-18).

It's very important to know how to properly interpret the Bible when it comes to the study of hermeneutics.  There are numerous cults in Christendom due to not properly dividing the word of truth.  There are many things that will be discussed in this series such as the First Mention Principle, Progressive Mention Princople, Gap Principle, Ethnic Division, Repetiton Principle, Synthetic Principle, and the list continues.  We'll be studying these different principles of Hermeneutics as we go deeper into the study.

There are three lines of truth that run throughout the scripture and they are (1) Salvation Truth (2) Church Truth (3) Kingdom truth.

I will discuss these three lines of truth in next week's post.

Iran Holds Military Exercise in Defiance of U.S. Sanctions

Iran Holds Military Exrercise in Defiance of U.S. Sanctions

Image result for iran holds military exercise in defiance of u.s. banIran's Missile being launched

In apparent defiance of the U.S. sanctions on Iran imposed by President Trump, Iran held a military exercise to test its radar and missile systems.  The attempt of the exercise, held in the Semman province, is to showcase the power of Iran's revolution and to dismiss the sanctions. During the exercise,  a senior member of the guard stated that if "our enemies do wrong, then missiles will fall down on them."   The sanctions were imposed on Tehran right after a recent ballistic missile test.

This could be a challenge in Trump's foreign policy during his administration involving uranium enrichment in making nuclear missiles.  How Trump will handle this we'll learn as time rolls along.  Click on Foxnews.com to read the news.

Ditka: If Player Takes a Knee During Game, He Wouldn't Play For Me Again

Colin Kaepernick

Former Chicago Bear's two-time Superbowl champion coach and two-time NFL coach of the year Mike Ditka stated on the Bernie and Sid Show on WABC that if one of his players ever took a knee during the singing of the national anthem, he would never play for him again.  He also stated that the San Francisco 49'ers player Colin Kaepernick needs to show some respect for the game and stop acting look a "bunch of fools out there."  Way to go, Coach Ditka.

Colin Kaepernick made some very derogatory comments about people who were all over Trump.  I won't mention the word he used.  Ditka pointed out that we live in a society that pays attention to our athletes, but the truth is there opinion is no more significant than anyone else's opinion and that Kaepernick would be an unknown if it wasn't for the game of football.  Ditka stated that Kaepernick needs to show some respect for the game and give something back to football.  Ditka's right.  Regardless what one thinks of Donald Trump, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, or any presidential administration, that doesn't give anyone the excuse to be disrespectful of the playing of the national anthem.  We're honoring those who fought and died for our country centuries ago.  It's because of those people why we have the privilege and freedom to voice our opinions regardless of the popularity of them.  No excuse for Kaepernick's actions during the playing of the national anthem.

Trump to McConnell on Gorsuch: Go Nuclear if Needed

Trump to McConnell on Gorsuch

President Donald Trump announcing Gorsuch as his Supreme court pick

President Donald Trump gave some advice for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell concerning his nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.  If Gorsuch doesn't receive 60 votes due to a Democratic filibuster, then go nuclear or do whatever you have to so Gorsuch can be confirmed.  Now what is the nuclear option?  The nuclear option is for the Senate to change the rules on the number of Senators that's required to confirm a nominee.  Instead of a supermajority which is 60 votes, then change the rules to allow for only a simple majority to confirm a candidate.  When the Senate voted to confirm Gorsuch on a voice vote in 2006 for the 10 Circuit Court of Appeals, Gorsuch was confirmed by a unanimous voice vote.  Even Senate Democrats voted for him then such as Clinton and Schumer, for example.  But this time, the Democrats will do everything within their power to stall and stop Gorsuch's confirmation to the Supreme Court.  Will McConnell do what he needs to if that requires resorting to the nuclear option?  I don't know because I can't trust McConnell but I hope he'll do the right thing in this situation.
