Obama, McConnell Hold Rare One-on-One Meeting

Obama, McConnell Hold Rare One-on-One Meeting

Obama McConnell
I can imagine what this one-on-one meeting would be.  Some would say that this meeting would be somewhat awkward since both supposedly don't seem to agree on much.  Personally, I believe those two have more common ground with each other than what many would believe.  Of course, McConnell would have to gravitate to Obama's agenda, but I believe the Senate Minority Leader is okay with certain aspects of Obama's agenda such as amnesty, reckless spending, and Obamacare, for example.  Senator Obama claims that he's very opposed to Obamacare, but he's not going to do anything to abolish Obamacare.  He stated that there wouldn't be a government shutdown.  This isn't the kind of bi-partisanship we need in Washington.

House Moves to Extend Tax Breaks to End of Year

House Moves to Extend Tax Breaks to End of Year

According to FoxNews.com, millions of individuals should be in luck as the House moves to try to extend a $45 billion package of expired tax breaks at the end of year for businesses and individuals.  The taxes supposedly would benefit small businesses, corporations, teachers, and states with no state income tax to name a few.

Any type of tax cut that could be passed immediately to help anybody regardless whether it's business or individuals should be passed by Congress.  Next year the GOP Congress should work towards scrapping the current U.S. tax code and design a tax code where individuals pay either a flat tax or a type of national sales tax.  The current tax code is ludicrous and is nothing but highway robbery.
