President Obama May Remain in Washington After Leaving Presidency

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/obama-may-be-a-rare-ex-president-who-stays-in-washington/2013/11/29/81ba049c-5912-11e3-8304-caf30787c0a9_story.html

That doesn't surprise me any.  President Obama is a Washington insider through and through.  If you think he's going to leave Washington and have no more dealings there, you need to think again.  I guarantee you Obama has enough contacts in Washington where Washington will always be a part of his life.  He isn't going to disengage from politics once he finishes his second term.  He and his wife both like Washington.  They've never had it better than they do now.  To read the full story, click on the above link from the Washington Post

'Tis the Season

The Bells of Christmas--Julie Andrews

It Came Upon the Midnight Clear--Julie Andrews

The Wexford Carols--Julie Andrews

Once again the Christmas season is upon us.  Christmas is one of my favorite holidays of the year.  I enjoy all the events that surround this blessed season such as Christmas carols, the decorations such as the Christmas tree, holly, the manger scene, etc.  In the area in which I live one of the local churches presents the annual musical entitled, "The Messiah" which was composed by George Frederick Handel in 1741.  That musical is played every year around December 7th, which is the date that Pearl Harbor was attacked in World War II.  That musical was presented for the very first time in that church on that date and ever since it has been performed in that church.  There are also major orchestra performances celebrating the theme of Christmas each year.

I also enjoy the food that's cooked during this holiday season as well such as Christmas candy, cakes, turkey, ham, and all the trimmings that go along with it.  This year I'm going to feature posts that celebrate Christmas as well as Christmas songs performed by many artists as well.  In the last few years it's been the tradition to start off the season with the song sung by Julie Andrews years ago entitled, "The Bells of Christmas."  This is a great way to commence the Christmas season.  I will also be featuring the background behind Christmas songs as well.  I will also feature posts concerning "thoughts of scripture" dealing with the theme "Joy to the World."  Some of the essays that feature that theme will be entitled, "Joy to the World: Jesus was Born,"  "Joy to the World: Jesus Died for Man", and "Joy to the World: Jesus is Coming Again."  I'm really excited about this holiday season.  As we celebrate Christmas, let's not forget why we celebrate it.  We celebrate it because of Jesus' birth into this world.  Have a Merry Christmas and blessed holiday season.

George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation

George Washington's Thanksgiving Day Proclamation

Our nations' first president George Washington

I have embedded a link on this post which contains George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation to the nation in 1796.   How we once again need a national leader to call this nation to a proclamation once more to the holiday that's designated to celebrate Thanksgiving.   Consequently, America has sunk deep into the depths of depravity and has forgotten the God that made this country great.  We need to once more take a look at the fact God has blessed us abundantly.  We have so much to be thankful for.  Yes, there are problems in this country.  No question.  In spite of that fact, we still have much to be thankful for.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!  God's been good to this nation.  HE has bestowed his blessings upon us over the 237+ years the United States has been officially a country.  As we partake of the traditional Thanksgiving dinner today, let's not forget to give praise to God for his bountiful blessings upon us.

Supreme Court to Take Another Look at Obamacare

Breitbart.com has an article about another case the U.S. Supreme Court is going to review concerning Obamacare.  They're going to review the case involving businesses and whether they can use religious objections to escape the requirement to cover birth control for employees.  To read the full story, click on the above link from Breitbart.com.

On This Day in History

 John F. Kennedy

JFK assassinated

Exactly 50 years ago on Friday November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.  It was a tragic time in our nation's history.  Many theories abound on the assassination of JFK.  One thing I do believe is that Lee Harvey Oswald wasn't in this alone.  I believe he was used to be Kennedy's assassin.  There's more to this than meets the eye.  A later post will follow

Can Obamacare be Saved?

Can Obamacare be Saved?

President Obama pauses while speaking about his signature achievement on the Affordable Care Act in the press briefing room on November 14, 2013

The best thing that can happen is for Obamacare to be tossed aside by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.  I hope it is.  The bill is totally unconstitutional.  The bill should've originated in the House of Representatives.  All tax bills must begin with the House of Representatives--not the Senate.  This will destroy America's capitalist system and I believe this could establish a totalitarian state.  It gives the government powers over the lives of Americans live we've never seen before.  Let's pray somehow this bill can be overturned.  To read the full story, click on the above link from FoxNews.com.

Thanks, ObamaCare: One Million Californians Lose Their Insurance

One Million Californians Lose Their Insurance

If you think one million Californians losing their own health insurance plans is terrible, you haven't seen anything yet.  Wait until the only other option is a single-payer health system, which is what the Obama administration wants.  To read the full story, click on the above link from Townhall.com.

House Republicans Back New Constitutional Challenge to Obamacare

House Republicans Back New Constitutional Challenge to Obamacare

Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ)

Forty House Republicans filed a brief last week in support of a legal challenge against Obamacare that argue that the law imposes billions of dollars in new taxes that didn't originate in the House, as tax bills under the Constitution.  Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) spearheaded the effort by filing a "friend of the court" brief on Friday with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.  The brief argued that Obamacare violated the Origination clause of the Constitution, which holds that all bills for raising revenue must "originate in the House."  Obamacare didn't originate in the House--it originated in the Senate.  The brief recounted how Obamacare had passed.  The Senate took an unrelated bill which gave tax breaks to certain veterans and added what ultimately became the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).  The brief mentioned that the Origination Clause in the Constitution to ensure that representatives of American citizens make tax decisions.  It specifically points out that the power to tax lies within the House--not the Senate.

I'm thankful that Rep. Franks has stepped up to the plate to bring this brief to challenge the legality of Obamacare.  It's flat out wrong and unconstitution for the U.S. Senate to overstep it's authority when it comes to tax issues.  Obamacare needs to be stopped and thrown out.  If the Circuit Court of Appeals will do it's job and not allow itself to be bribed, then I believe Obamacare can be invalidated.  Whether or not that will happen is a different story.  To read the full story, click on the above link.

A Thanks to Our Veterans

I know I'm two days late, but I want to take this time to thank all you veterans that have served our country from World War II to the latest wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It's because of your sacrifices on the battlefield that we still enjoy the freedoms we have today.  I don't want to forget that.  We appreciate you for your service to this great country.
